From the Principal’s desk

Wielding the pen with grace, we unravel words; and so, we unravel worlds…
It brings me immense pleasure to unveil the inaugural issue of Spectrum this year, an
initiative to reap the seeds of aesthetic appreciation and creative ingenuity sown in our
students. As they wield their pens and paint the canvas with their vivid creative intellect, we
provide yet another platform to them for showcasing the astounding synergy of the worlds
of reality and imagination. The web of the ordinary and the extraordinary comes to a
confluence as our learners interweave their co-scholastic aptitude with their linguistic
prowess and awareness of the world. We believe in upholding high standards for commitment
towards values and experiential learning in the school, and keeping the same in mind, myriad
opportunities are provided to our students for grooming them into meritorious achievers in
all fields. This magazine is also an initiative to enable our ever-blossoming parent-community
to be apprised about our endeavours into collaborative learning.
An admirable montage prepared by our prolific and profound students awaits you as they
enlighten us with their distinctive perspective on the world and their blooming lives. With
this, I would like to congratulate the Editorial committee for bringing the first issue of
Spectrum together.

Every child can learn, just not on the same day or in the same way.

At GD Goenka Public School, we are committed to provide a creative environment which is
both stimulating and challenging and which makes our school a ‘Happy School’.

The pursuit of excellence encouraged at school rests on the positive belief that every child
is different and unique and has a different style of learning. Hence they are exposed to a
plethora of activities & stage presentations to hone their existing talents and learn a host
of new ones. We intend to promote in every child a positive self esteem and to give wings to
their imagination so that they soar greater heights.

Looking forward to greater support & cooperation from our dear parents to make the

Save Water SMA

Every drop means a lot….

Students of class KG -D presented a Special Assembly on
August 06, 2019. Children sang a melodious song on ‘Water
Conservation’ and generated awareness about this serious
issue through a very thought provoking street play, that was
par excellence.

Healthy Eating Day SMA

A healthy mind stays in a healthy body….

"Your diet is a bank account. Good food choices are good
investments.”

A special assembly was presented by the students of class KG -A
on August 09, 2019. Students introduced the various food items
through a peppy action song, followed by a ramp walk wherein
the different food groups were showcased. A tug of war was
organized between the healthy and the junk food which
was, obviously, won by the healthy food items.

National Sports Day SMA

Sports is the best exercise….

'National Sports Day' was celebrated through a special
assembly presented by the students of class KG –E on August 30,
2019. To commemorate the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan
Chand, a pioneer in the field of sports, awareness was generated
about the significance of physical as well as mental health.
Students were also informed about the harmful effects of using
plastic in everyday life and what are its environment friendly
options.

Masterchefs in the making…

"Cooking by kids is not just about ingredients, recipes and
dishes. It's about harnessing their imagination, empowerment

and creativity.”
The young Goenkans of class KG participated in the fireless
cooking activity, ‘Chef de Cuisine’. They prepared mouth
watering dishes with exotic flavours.

Walky Talky

Start Early…Drive slowly…Reach safely

Students of class KG participated in the 'Walky Talky' activity
wherein they brought props related to the various Means of
Transport, traffic signs and signals and spoke enriching lines on
the same.
