WELCOME

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Palos Verdes Peninsula High School

(PVPHS). Our campus was established in 1991 when three separate high
schools were consolidated into one, and our spirit of inclusivity and
community continues to this day. We serve roughly 2,400 students with
an unparalleled breadth of courses, activities, and programs. Our overriding
goal is to make sure that each and every student has the opportunity to
build their own foundation for a healthy and productive future.

On a personal note, I want to welcome you to a school that helped me
to build my own foundation when I was a student here many years ago.
I experienced firsthand the impact of a great school culture at that time,

@pvphs_principal
I am humbled by all of those who came before me and honored to build
upon PVPHS’s legacy for our current generation of students as they move
towards adulthood.

readers, writers, and speakers.
During their freshman year, students are
introduced to timeless literature such as
To Kill a Mockingbird, Romeo and Juliet,
and Of Mice and Men, along with a variety
of other readings including stories from
mythology and Maus, a Pulitzer Prize
winning graphic novel.
When you walk into a sophomore English
class, you might see students conducting
mock trials involving characters from Lord

students debating the relevance of Mary
