Gloria Patricia Foster, only daughter to Robert Campbell and Hallie Hogan Williams, was
born May 31, 1943 in Tallahassee, FL. At an early age, she moved to New York City and
there, she would spend her life until adulthood. As a teenager, Gloria
would perform at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem, NY. After
completing public school, she became an administrative assistant at
Chase Bank. A job she loved. In 1963, she brought the love of her life
into the world, Lynn Michelle Lucas. Upon moving to
Birmingham, AL, she married the love of her life, Rickey Foster,
and worked as a home health aide with Oxford Home Health
until she became ill. She became a faithful member of Agape
Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir.
Her personality, bold smile and pure heart attracted others.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband and
granddaughters, Alexandria Joi Lucas and Janiyah McKenzie
Lewis. She leaves those that love her forever, her beloved
daughter Lynn M. Lucas-Walker, grandchildren, Ro’shad P.
Lucas, Sr. of Montgomery, AL, La’Rae (Micah) Slater of
Birmingham, AL and Ashley Lucas of Birmingham, AL. She was
blessed to share her love with her great-grandson, Ro’shad P. Lucas Jr.,
but sadly was unable to meet the newest addition, her great-grandson
Tristan Syre Lucas. Brother in laws, Luellen Foster, Ernest Foster, Ronald
Lucas, Dwight Lucas and William Garner and sister in laws, Sarah Garner,
Sharon Estrada and Kathy Foster. Very Special cousins, Dorothy Taylor,
George and Pat Washington and a host of other devoted special friends
and family.
