TORIE JANIAH SCHENCK Torie, I just want to give a shout out to this beauty, of whom I've had the pleasure of knowing since before she was one years old. I was one of her youth leaders as well as dance teachers, and watching her blossom reminds me of a caterpillar. Torie was a very serious and reserved baby. She was so observant and sometimes so quiet you forgot that she was in the room. Watching her go from such a cute quiet face to this cocoon of talent, voice of power and leader is such a thrill to see. She basically spread her wings right in front of my eyes and became one of the most exquisite butterflies I ever witnessed. She gracefully sores and captures the hearts of those around her through her kindness and through her helping hands, through her charisma, and her leadership skills as well as the way that she unapologetically speaks her piece. I applaud the way she has become her own person, being the baby and having her own swag and doing her own thing and building her own name. Children all around her are drawn to her, including my 6-year-old who constantly calls Torie her friend. She is such a bright and intelligent young lady, and it is such a pleasure to be able to speak about her in this light. I am extremely proud of her and all her accomplishments. I look forward to seeing her growth and development, which I know will be nothing short of great. I am not surprised at her being chosen for this year’s debutante, due to her EXCELLECE.
