Dedicated to Webster Lee Butler

The greatest influence in my life I would have to say is my grandfather the late Webster
Lee Butler. I had a rough upbringing however he was the only person I felt I could
always go to and rely on. He taught me to always have a plan A, B, C in whatever I do
and I could accomplish anything I wanted to. I can honestly say I miss this man
dearly. He was a man of integrity and always set expectations or guidelines for himself,
7children and at that time 13 grandchildren.

A Lot of people always spoke highly of him. The wisdom or analogy to life he gave me
gives me hope I can be whatever I want to be and to never give up or lose focus of my
dream. I valued what he said and it’s embedded in me when times get rough or
frustrating for me to never give up. He had a gentle soul and not dumb by far it was hard
to try to trick him. February of 2006 they advised after 3x of my grandfather battling
cancer there was nothing else they could do. The Dr. advised us all they gave him in
April of 2006 to live, however the irony of it was my grandfather did not want to relocate
to Georgia with his kids and grandchildren so I traveled to New Jersey just to spend
some time with him.

What he has taught me is how life goes and as I struggle with the loss in which it has
been over ten years I try to motivate myself to keep pushing. I felt my grandfather knew
me best or understood my behavior. My grandfather was the type of fella that said what
he meant and meant what he said kind of guy; I can hear him like yesterday there is a
principle to life as much is given much is required.

The moral of his influence although he was battling cancer and was in pain I can
remember the nights he moaned. He knew something was wrong this go around. he
outlived what the Dr. estimated, all his children called on 3way and he blessed each one
of his kids, my grandfather passed on my mother birthday June 10 2006 at 3:10 the irony
is we all thought we could keep a strong but he knew he was tired, the day he passed he
was laughing in his and told his wife to get out of the room he was having fun. I am in
awe and honor to state my grandfather Webster Lee Butler was a man of integrity and
he fought to the very end.

Words could never express how he impacted my life and was my hero. He will always be
missed and his advice has never leveled my mind when I am going through life
adversaries. This ad is dedicated to anyone who has lost a loved one to cancer. Even
though we missed them we must keep going and embrace their wisdom given and
memories shared.
