We are dreaming of a day where cancer no longer exists,
and we know we’re not there – not yet, anyway. But CARTI is
fighting to change that every day. A world where we wouldn’t
need advanced technology, expert doctors or personalized care
plans. A world where we would drive past treatment centers
on our way to new adventures. A world where you wouldn’t be
reading these words right now.

To get us closer to that shared vision, we provide preventive
screenings that can identify cancer at an early stage when
treatment is more likely to be effective. Screenings are
available at our treatment locations across the state.

• Mammogram Screening - Available at The Breast
Center at CARTI, with facilities in Little Rock,
North Little Rock and Russellville, mammograms are
recommended for women starting at age 45.

• Prostate Exam - Available at CARTI Urology in Pine
Bluff, prostate exams are recommended at age 50 for
men who are at average risk, and 45 for men at high
risk, for developing prostate cancer.

• Low Dose Lung Screening - Available at CARTI
Cancer Centers in Little Rock and Russellville, a low
dose lung screening is appropriate for anyone with an
elevated risk for developing lung cancer.

• Genetic Testing - Available at CARTI’s Cancer
Genetics and Risk Management Clinic, genetic testing
identifies an elevated risk of developing cancer.
This knowledge helps healthcare providers create a
personalized management plan to either catch cancer
early or reduce your risk of developing cancer.

While we don’t have a world without a cancer just yet, we do
have ways to get in front of it. Until that world is here, you
have CARTI.

Centers of Arkansas gathered at the Governor’s
Mansion for the Child Protection Luncheon. Guests
enjoyed friendly fellowship as well as the presentation
of the Senator Percy Malone Child Protection Award –
recognizing an individual who reflects the organization’s
mission: improving the welfare of children in Arkansas.
This year’s honoree was Representative Charlene Fite,
who serves on the House Aging, Children and Youth
Legislative & Military Affairs Committee. Children’s
Advocacy Centers are community-based facilities with
multi-disciplinary approach to reducing trauma to child
victims of physical abuse, sexual abuse or neglect.

AEDD Jobs 4 You program. This group of
volunteers, 60 members strong, supports
AEDD through various projects and two
annual fundraisers, Curtain Call for a
Cause and Hawgs for a Cause. Proceeds
further the AEDD mission: empowering
children and adults with disabilities
through community-based services.
