Organize Shop With Cable Rack

I was having a hard time keeping track of all the cable lying in my
shop. First I built a solid stand with stable footing. Then I welded
evenly spaced hooks onto a length of pipe and placed that atop the
stand. I built it so the section with hooks will spin 360° for access
from all directions. After I built my cable tree and put it to use, the
extension cords were cleaned up and are now much easier to find.

Easy Way to Replace Farm Hydrant

Hydrant replacement free of digging begins with
installation: Put a PVC pipe around the standpipe from
above the ground to near the drain port and foot valve;
4-inch PVC supplies enough volume that no gravel is
needed around the drain port. Insulate the top of the PVC
to prevent freezing. (I use 2-inch-thick Styrofoam cut to
fit the standpipe and PVC.) To replace, just unthread the
hydrant and lift.

Let Cows Scratch on These

I found a way to repurpose used combine cylinder bars: Standing
on end, attached to a metal post with lag bolts, they make great
scratching places for cattle. Our cows love to rub all their itchy spots
on them. Of course, this saves on our gates, fences, and other less
durable pieces of metal that they used for scratching before we put
the cylinder bars up.

Rinse Jug Into Inductor

For a better and faster way to rinse chemical jugs, I made this jug
rinse nozzle. The 1-inch PVC pipe attaches to a water hose; a valve
and swivel make it easier to use when I hold the jug right over the
chemical inductor and rinse. With its gooseneck, all the water runs
into the inductor. To create a nozzle, I simply put a PVC cap on the
end and drilled numerous holes at several angles.
