คำพูดทนี่ ำมารายงาน จะพูดให้เขา้ ใจเปน็ ภาษางา่ ยๆคือ การนำคำพดู ของคนอ่นื มารายงานให้คนอ่ืนทราบ หรือการเอาคำพดู คนอน่ื มาเล่า

Direct speech และ Indirect speech
Direct speech คำพูดแบบตรง หมายถงึ การนำคำพดู คนอนื่ มาพดู ต่อ เชน่ โจพูดว่า “ฉนั ชอบแมว” เรากเ็ อามาเล่าตอ่ ว่า “โจบอกวา่
ฉันชอบแมว” ถ้าเอาคำพูดนีม้ าเล่าต่อ คนฟังจะเขา้ ใจวา่ อย่างไร โจหรอื ฉันท่ชี อบแมว แนน่ อนวา่ คนฟังต้องคดิ วา่ ฉันทช่ี อบแมว ไมใ่ ช่โจ
Indirect speech หรอื Reported speech คำพูดแบบออ้ ม หมายถึงการนำคำพดู คนอนื่ มาเปลยี่ นเสียก่อนที่จะนำไปพดู บอกคนอื่น
เชน่ โจพูดว่า “ฉันชอบแมว” เราก็เอามาแปลงเป็น “โจบอกวา่ เขาชอบแมว” แบบนคี้ นฟังก็จะรเู้ ลยวา่ คนทชี่ อบแมวคือโจ
แลว้ มนั มหี ลักการอะไรทที่ ำให้ปวดหวั หรอื เปล่า ตอบเลยว่า มี

หลกั การเปลี่ยน Direct speech เป็น Indirect speech
1. เปลยี่ นคำพูดของคนอืน่ ให้อยใู่ นรูปของอดีตกาล หรือ Past Tense นั่นเอง (ถา้ จะศึกษาเร่อื งนตี้ ้องผา่ นดา่ นเร่อื ง Tense มาแล้วนะ
ครบั )
2. เปลยี่ นแปลงเวลาและคำแวดล้อมให้ถูกต้องกบั ความเปน็ จรงิ ในปัจจบุ ันท่ีพดู
3. เปลี่ยนสรรพนามจาก I เป็น He / She จาก We เปน็ They / you จาก me เป็น her/ him แล้วแตส่ ถานการณ์
4. คำพดู ทอ่ี ยู่ในรปู ของประโยคคำถาม ใหแ้ ปลงเป็นประโยคบอกเล่า

1. Indirect Speech – Statement ประโยคบอกเล่า
ขอให้จำกฎงา่ ยๆว่า ตอ้ งเปลย่ี นคำกรยิ าปัจจบุ ันใหเ้ ป็นอดตี และเปลย่ี นคำทเ่ี ป็นบริบทให้ตรงกับความเป็นจรงิ
ในประโยคบอกเลา่ น้ี เราจะใชค้ ำว่า said that (พดู ว่า…) หรือ told….that (บอก…วา่ ) กไ็ ด้ คำว่า that จะละไวก้ ็ได้
Present Simple Tense เปลย่ี นเปน็ Past Simple tense

• โจพูดกบั ฉัน ” I am tired.” ฉันเหนอ่ื ย
Jo told me that he was tired. โจบอกฉนั ว่าเขาเหนือย
Jo said he was tired. โจพดู ว่าเขาเหน่อื ย

ปล. ไมจ่ ำเป็นต้องเปล่ียนกริยาให้เปน็ รูปอดีตก็ได้ ถ้าความน้ันเป็นขอ้ เท็จจรงิ ทัว่ ไป เชน่
• โจพดู กบั ฉันว่า I am a teacher. ผมเป็นครู (อนั นเ้ี ป็นข้อเทจ็ ริง ตลอดกาล)
• Jo said that he is a teacher. จะเห็นวา่ ใชก้ ริยา is โดยทีไ่ มต้ ้องเปลี่ยนเปน็ was เทยี บกับ
• โจพดู กับฉัน ” I am tired.” ฉันเหนื่อย
Jo told me that he was tired. โจบอกฉนั วา่ เขาเหนือย
อันนไ้ี ม่ใช่ข้อเทจ็ จริง เขาแคเ่ หนือ่ ยในขณะนั้นในอดีต ซ่งึ ตอนน้ีอาจจไม่ใช่แลว้ สว่ นประโยคอื่นๆก็เทยี บเคยี งกนั

Present Continuous Tense เปลี่ยนเป็น Past Continuous tense
• โจพดู กบั ฉัน ” I am eating dinner.” ฉันกำลงั กนิ ขา้ วเยน็ อยู่
Jo said that he was eating dinner. โจพดู วา่ เขากำลังกนิ ข้าวเย็นอยู่
Jo told me that he was eating dinner. โจบอกฉนั ว่าเขากำลงั กนิ ข้าวเย็นอยู่

Present Perfect Continuous Tense เปลยี่ นเป็น Past Perfect Continuous tense
• โจพดู กบั ฉนั ” I have been eating dinner for 30 minutes. ฉันกนิ ข้าวเย็นมาเปน็ เวลา 30 นาทีแลว้
Jo said that he had been eating dinner for 30 minutes. โจพูดว่าเขากินข้าวเย็นมาเป็นเวลา 30 นาทแี ล้ว
Jo told me that he had been eating dinner for 30 minutes. โจบอกฉนั ว่าเขากินขา้ วเยน็ มาเป็นเวลา 30 นาที
แลว้ ทีนถ้ี ้ามนั เป็นเหตุการณใ์ นอดตี ละ่ ….ถา้ เป็นเหตุการณใ์ นอดตี เอาสูตรงา่ ยๆไปใชค้ อื คงเดิมไว้ เปลี่ยนแค่ตัวประธานให้
ตรงกับสถานการณ์ก็พอ

Past Simple Tense เปลยี่ นเป็น Past Perfect tense หรอื คง Tense ไว้

• โจพดู กับฉัน ” I ate dinner with Jenny yesterday.” ฉนั กนิ ขา้ วเยน็ กบั เจนเมอื่ วาน
Jo told me that he ate dinner with Jenny the day before yesterday. โจบอกฉันวา่ เขากนิ ข้าวเยน็ กับเจนเมอ่ื
วานกอ่ น

Past Continuous Tense ก็ใหค้ งไว้
• โจพูดกับฉัน ” While I was walking to school, I saw a long snake. ขณะท่ีฉนั กำลังเดินไปโรงเรยี น ฉนั เห็นงูตัวยาว
Jo said while he was walking to school, he saw a long snake. โจพูดวา่ ขณะทเี่ ขากำลังเดินไปโรงเรียน เขาเห็นงู
ตัวยาว

ประโยคที่มี auxiliary verb ให้เปลย่ี นดงั น้ี
• can > could
• may > might
• will > would
• shall > should
• must > must, had to
• โจพูดกับฉนั ” I can run fast.
• Jo said that he could run fast. โจพดู ว่าเขาสามารถว่งิ ไดเ้ ร็ว
• เจนพูดว่า ” I will go to London next month.
Jane said she would go to London next month.

2. Indirect Speech – Commands, Requests or Suggestions ประโยค คำสัง่ แนะนำ ขอร้อง
การส่ังจะใชค้ ำวา่ ordered, commanded
การแนะนำจะใช้ advised, suggested, recommended, told..
การของรอ้ งจะใช้ asked
สว่ นคำสงั่ คำแนะนำ และคำขอรอ้ งจะใช้ infinitive with to (มี to นำหนา้ )

• นายพลส่ังลูกน้อง ” Jump into the sea now!” กระโดดลงทะเลยเด๋ยี วน้ี
The general ordered his soldiers to jump into the sea then.

• ตำรวจส่ังชายผูต้ ้องสงสยั บนถนน ” Put your hands on your head!” เอามอื วางไวบ้ นหัวของคณุ !
The police ordered the man to put his hand on his head. ตำรวจสงั่ ใหช้ ายหนมุ่ เอามือของเขาวางไว้บนหัวของ
เขา

• ผมป่วยอยู่บา้ น เจนมาหา ” You should see the doctor. ” คณุ ควรพบหมอนะ

3. Indirect Speech – Question ประโยคคำถาม
ถา้ คำถามใช้ modal auxiliary verb ใหใ้ ช้ if หรือ wether นำหนา้ ซ่งึ แปลว่า “วา่ ” และ เรยี งประโยคในรูแบบ ประธาน + modal
verb + กริยาหลัก

• เจนถามวา่ ” Can you swim?” คุณวา่ ยน้ำเป็นไหม
Jane asked me if I could swim. เจนถามฉันวา่ ฉันว่ายนำ้ เป็นใชไ่ หม

• เจนถามว่า ” Will you go tomorrow?” คณุ จะไปพรุง่ นีใ้ ชไ่ หม
Jane asked me if I would go tomorrow. เจนถามฉันว่าฉันจะไปพร่งุ นี้ใชไ่ หม

• เจนถามว่า “Shall I go tomorrow?” ฉนั ควรไปพบหมอไหม
Jane asked me if she should go tomorrow. เจนถามฉนั วา่ หลอ่ นควรไปพรุง่ นใ้ี ช่ไหม
