Many of the builders at GAS are passionate archers and hunters themselves. They understand what is on the line when someone steps up to shoot. Whether it’s a competitor chasing millimeters or a bowhunter waiting for that single clean shot opportunity, the expectation never changes. The work has to be held up. Performance doesn’t care who the end user is, it only reflects how well the job was done. The culture inside GAS is built on accountability. Builders know where their work is going and why it matters. There is pride in seeing a finished set boxed up and shipped, not because it’s done, but because it’s done right. That pride isn’t loud or performative. It shows up in consistency, day after day, set after set. This is work that supports American families. Work rooted in showing up, paying attention and taking responsibility for what leaves your hands. It’s the kind of craftsmanship that doesn’t need to be explained or dressed up. You feel it when you put it to use. Beyond the walls, GAS Bowstrings isn’t chasing trends, hype or noise. It is built on values American workers recognize immediately: doing the job right, standing behind your work and taking pride in what you build. No shortcuts. No excuses. At the end of the day, that’s what separates good from great. Not marketing. Not promises. The standard never changes. Inside the shop, experience carries weight. Building perfect bowstrings isn’t fast work, and it is never rushed. It is quiet, focused, repeatable work built on years of understanding how material behaves, how tension matters and how small details translate into real performance. Every builder brings their own rhythm to the process, but the expectation is the same across the board: consistency, precision and complete accountability. There’s an unspoken responsibility that comes with the job. Someone, somewhere, is trusting what’s being built to carry a dream that may have been years in the making. 50 INSIDE ARCHERY JANUARY 2026By Michaelean PikeHighlighting thewisdom shared byInside Archery’shugely-successfulCover Story subjects.
JANUARY 2026 INSIDEARCHERY.COM 51As I prepare for another year of talking to—and learning from—industry leaders, I took a few moments to glance through the wisdom I gleaned from last year’s cover story subjects.LESSON #1: Fix a ProblemMany successful businesses are built on products or services that solve a real problem archers have. Given that the people we spoke with this year are all archers and bowhunters themselves, they knew firsthand what issues plagued their customers. That’s how Carter Enterprises, our May Cover Story subject, got its start. Frustrated with the release options on the market at the time, founder Jerry Carter spent a long night tinkering with an idea he had.“He had taken a drill with just one bit on it, and he had completely cut out every internal piece and case himself manually and had put a release together,” April, Jerry’s wife and business partner, recalled. The couple decided to see what other archers thought of the new release.“We took it down to Idaho Falls and showed it to Dee Wilde of Wilde Archery,” Jerry said. “He was an eight-year world champion at the time. He said the release was the best thing he’d ever seen and that we needed to sell it, and he helped us get started promoting it. We took 25 of them to Vegas two months later and sold all 25 of them in the first hour we were there ust walking around with him. (fter that, everything just kind of blew up.”.cott 'akken and Taylor -ollman of &ialed (rchery, profiled in our July issue, built the ARXOS sight to address problems they’d experienced themselves.w0e wanted to build something that benefited shooters,v 'akken said. wt wasnqt ust another adustable sight. 0e wanted it to fix issues we'd personally experienced, but also that we had noticed other people having.”As passionate bowhunters, they knew what they wanted in a sight. At the end of every year, I like to look back at the things I did over the previous 12 months. And as the person who writes the Cover Stories for Inside Archery, a big part of my year are the people I speak with as I work on those stories. I consider myself fortunate that I get to talk to the movers and shakers in the archery industry—inventors, entrepreneurs, engineers and marketing specialists. All of them show up to work every day thrilled to be part of the industry that serves their passion.
52 INSIDE ARCHERY JANUARY 2026“We started designing concepts,” Kollman explained. “That's where the angled elevation rail system was initially developed. That rail system allows users to shave off between 10 and 30 yards, depending on how fast their arrows are shooting.”The desire to solve a problem was also how Jerry McPherson of Montana Decoy, the subject of our December Cover Story, got his start as an archery manufacturer. The area he hunted in was relatively open, and he and his hunting buddy kept encountering a problem.“It was a large area, so you had to walk in quite a ways before the hunting got good,” he explained. “We were calling elk, and we just couldn’t get them in close enough to shoot with a bow. We’d get them in to 80 or 100 yards, and they’d hang up. They were looking for whatever was doing the calling.”McPherson knew what he needed.“I wanted to come up with some sort of decoy that we could bring in with us, something that was easy to pack,” he said. “I thought we needed to have a printed fabric decoy, something two-dimensional, and we needed a way to hold it open.”The result? Lightweight, packable, photorealistic decoys from Montana Decoy.LESSON #2: Pay Attention to the Little ThingsWhen it comes to a sport like archery, the tiniest details can often make a big difference. That’s why so many people we spoke with stressed the importance of attention to detail. That’s certainly what Josh Sidebottom of Altra Arrows pointed out in our April issue when we asked what made the brand’s arrows so popular.“I would say our quality and attention to detail on the arrows are a couple of significant factors in setting us apart,v he said. “We have what we call our No Spine Technology. In a traditional arrow, you're going to have a stiff side of the arrow, which, depending on how you fletch them and the tune of your bow, could result in a different point of impact for some arrows versus others. If you orient the stiff side of your arrow one way or the other, itqs going to change how the arrow flies. The way our arrows are built virtually eliminates any stiff side of the arrow, regardless of how you fletch it. ( lot of people don’t pay attention to what the stiff side is when they fletch arrows. That’s a step in the process we don't feel the consumer should have to worry about.”Joey Hershberger of Joey’s Bowstrings also believes attention to detail makes his bowstrings stand out.“Everything has a system to it,” he explained of the stringmaking process. “We have a very modern system. We’re constantly looking at what's the next thing we can improve. We have a few processes that nobody else in the industry has. Some people don't put in that attention to detail to make sure that all the stretch is out of it, the wax consistency is right. We use a special tool to serve on the string that makes sure we’re at the right tension. We're not just slapping on serving. We take pride in our strings. They’re not your standard cookie-cutter strings.”LESSON #3: Make Life Easier for Your CustomersOffering problem-solving products and services isn’t the only way to make your customers’ lives easier. The right programs and incentives will also make your company an attractive partner. For Al Perelli of BIGshot Archery and Delta McKenzie, the focus of our January 2025 issue, a big part of supporting his dealers is making sure he delivers a product with good margins they can be confident will work as promised.“We're very focused on margin for our dealers,” he said. “We want to provide a product that sells through. It's great margin for them and is also extremely reliable. We understand with crossbows, the target is important in the fact that they don't Altra Arrows • April 2025Continued on Page 54FirstString • March 2025Delta McKenzie • January 2025
54 INSIDE ARCHERY JANUARY 2026want the customer to return the crossbow. They're selling a $3,000 crossbow, and when a dealer says this target will work, it's their reputation on the line as well as ours. That's why the Iron Man has been so successful. The dealer doesn't have to worry about it. It just works. We provide the right product at the right price point. We also utilize rebates to give our customers and our dealers even more value.”Scott and Mikey Parrish of FirstString, the subject of our March issue, know just how critical it is for retailers to get the bowstrings they need, when they need them.“This industry is driven by hunting,” Scott said. “And the hunting world is driven by independent retailers. Those retailers must adhere to the last-minute rush of the hunters. In the three months during bow season, everybody in the world walks into a pro shop and wants to get their bow worked on. Our focus is to make sure we're getting product—quality product—built for our retailers in a timely manner for a great price. That's where our focus goes.”FirstString also aims to keep dealer margins as high as possible.“Our dealers report a lot of our competitors increased their prices,” Mikey said. “Some have increased prices the dealers pay for the product and/or increased the MSRP. The worst case is many have maintained the MSRP but increased what the dealer pays. So now dealers are paying more for product and getting less margins. It’s a win for the Brand X but hoses the dealer.”n (ugust, we spoke with \"had .eaverns of %earfire, a company that helps get firearms—and now archery—retailers online. It’s a service that Seaverns felt was badly needed to help both the retailers and the sport as a whole.“I don't think the sport can grow without the local retailers,” Seaverns said. “Bows need to be tuned, they need to be set up. You need these experts in brick-and-mortar shops to teach consumers how to do that. Consumers don't always have access to a friend that's an enthusiast. They need a good partner to help them get started. To me, it's vitally important to have that local retailer continue to exist to support the customer, support the sport. (nd think %earfire plays a critical role in helping the retailer sell and communicate with a new generation of consumers. Most consumers start their experience online doing research. If the retailer doesn't have an online presence, they may be overlooked by that consumer. Retailers tell us all the time that the website only represents a fraction of the business that it generates. A lot of times consumers will go to the retailers’ websites, see the professional way they're being represented online and then go to the store to talk to them. The transactions happen in the store, but it was the website that drove that consumer in. I don't think a store can continue to exist long-term without a good online presence.“We're the easy button for archery retailers to start selling online. They can reach a whole new generation of consumers that may be passing them over because they're not online.”Joey’s Bowstrings was built to serve the needs of dealers from day one.“One thing dealers really like about us is we charge per set,” Joey Hershberger explained. “If someone wants an individual piece, we do have pricing for that. But if a guy's ordering for a Mathews bow that gets five pieces, weqre not putting five different SKUs in. Dealers don't have to worry about calculating out the price and adding the margin on.“The other thing that our dealers really like is if they order over $150, they get free shipping. We also have a three-tier pricing system. The more you order, the better discount you get. Everybody's making a good margin on it.”In addition, bowstrings from Joey’s come with the kind of customer service and support that only decades of experience can deliver.“We back our product however we can to make the customer happy,” Barry Burnett of Joey’s Bowstrings said. “If someone has a problem, we’re here to help.”The subject of our November Cover Story, Arsenal, produces premium climbers, saddles and accessories for mobile hunters. To help educate consumers, the company provides marketing materials for their retailers.“Going into 2026, we’re really focused on helping our customers with marketing at point-of-purchase,” Arsenal’s founder Scott Lee said. “Retail displays, signage, shelf talkers—a lot of tools that historically would only be used in much bigger categories. We're even planning on having LCD pedestal screens Continued on Page 56Big Tine • June 2025Carter Enterprises • May 2025Continued from Page 52
56 INSIDE ARCHERY JANUARY 2026that allow us to show the lifestyle and some interactive buying since this is a more technical category.”LESSON #4: Branding MattersProducing a quality product or service that delivers on the promises it makes is critical. But it’s also important to invest in the right look and feel. That’s what Joe Umphries did when he joined Big Tine, profiled in our /une issue.“We wanted a clean look,” he explained. “Before it was what we call just a buck on a bag. It was cartoony. So, we wanted a black bag with a cool concept. And what’s really cool about our logo deer now is it’s really a Big Tine buck. That deer was grown on Big Tine and taken right down the road from our plant. We didn’t just choose a random deer to throw on there. The new packaging really popped and caught your eye.”The result was an immediate increase in sales.“As soon as we changed the packaging over and went with that kind of matte black look, sales went up,” Umphries said. “We didn't change the recipe, but with that makeover, it was unbelievable. Overnight, people started paying attention.”LESSON #5: Take Advantage of TechnologyAs technology advances, so do many successful companies.%earfire doesn’t ust take advantage of technology—it lets archery retailers of all sizes take advantage of technology to compete directly with large online sellers.“We give the retailer an online presence,” Chad Seaverns explained. “Some retailers will have a basic website that’s just informational, but we empower them with the ability to actually transact online. 0e also take away the friction and the difficulty of listing products for sale online, which can be a full-time job for someone in a store. Because we use distributor feeds for our sites, everything that's in stock in a supplier’s warehouse now shows up online as if it's the retailer's own inventory. So it looks like the retailer has hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of inventory on their site, but it's all sitting in a distributor warehouse. As far as a consumer knows, that's the retailer’s inventory. The consumer buys the product from the retailer's site and the retailer gets paid right away.“The second piece of magic happens once the consumer pays for the product. The %earfire e\"ommerce site automatically sends the order to the supplier, and then the supplier will either ship the product to the retail store for the consumer to pick up or, if the product is allowed to be drop-shipped, the supplier will send the product directly to the consumer on the retailer's behalf. All the retailer has to do is watch orders as they're coming in and make sure they're servicing the customer after the order has been placed.”LESSON #6: Invest in ArcheryFor FirstString, there’s no future without a steady supply of new archers. That’s why they invest heavily in youth archery.Continued on Page 58“The youth are the future of archery,” Mikey Parrish said. “Without the youth, we will all go away, therefor we have a youth program. When our dealers host shoots for S3DA, USA Archery, NASP, 3-D club shoots or anything like that, we perk it. We do everything we can to help the youth enjoy this great sport.” “We want to keep this sport growing,” her husband Scott added. “We've got to keep people going to the pro shops and keep them strong. We've got to make sure the future of archery has a place to go, and parents don’t get hit in the pocketbook quite so hard with their children’s sports. We try to make this part not so costly. When the pro shops have tournaments and youth Gearfire • August 2025Joey's Bowstrings • Sept/Oct 2025Dialed Archery • July 2025Continued from Page 54
58 INSIDE ARCHERY JANUARY 2026Continued on Page 60events, we sponsor them heavily.”Jerry and April Carter of Carter Enterprises also devote a great deal of time and effort to supporting other archers.“The people who shoot archery are a very interesting group,” Jerry said. “They can be world-class athletes and not be able to compete with the heavy-set people. It doesn't make any difference who you are, you can be good at archery. I try to make it so archers can be the best they can be.”Friend and fellow archer /im 'ath had first-hand experience with that. The two met when /im, a pilot who was flying hunters in Alaska, attended the Vegas Tournament to book clients.“I saw that the majority of the better shooters at Vegas were shooting Carter releases,” Jim said. “There weren’t too many other releases being made at that time. /erry was definitely a pioneer of quality releases. I got the chance to talk to him, and we got to be friends. He helped me a lot with my shooting.“He was always more interested in helping people shoot than making money. He took a lot of time to help people with their shooting. He’s a very generous person. I've seen Jerry give away equipment. Sometimes he’d see people that were just getting started and maybe couldn't afford a lot, and he’d give them equipment. He would do pretty much anything to get someone started in archery.”LESSON #7: Don’t Be Afraid to Stand OutFor some companies, success comes when they take risks and refuse to play it safe. That’s certainly been the case for Big Tine, which has won over consumers and retailers in large part because the brand isn’t afraid to stand out. That was clear even before we started working on the article. Shortly after we’d arranged to do a Cover Story on Big Tine, Joe Umphries called us to discuss the cover photo. He had an idea he wanted to run by us.And it was a fun one—he wanted to recreate the iconic scene from Scarface.“I'm a big Scarface fan,” Umphries said. “I think you can learn a lot from the movie. There are a lot of correlations with the way we've built our brands. I mean, there's some big differences—I sell deer feed and he sold cocaine. But I always thought it was cool how he did his own thing. We're the same way. We learned the game, then rewrote the rules. Our goal is always to break the mold. We’re not overly cocky, but we do want to stand out.”LESSON #8: Tap Into FOMOFOMO—fear of missing out—is a powerful force that can quickly get consumers reaching for their wallets. Just ask the team at Dialed.(fter the launch of their first sight, the (*2#., the &ialed team continued to come up with new ideas for options they’d like to offer their customer base. But their ideas weren’t always practical.“Any time you start to add color options, you're adding a lot of extra .-fis and extra variants to your assembly process,v Taylor -ollman explained. w0e had things we wanted to offer to our customer base, but we didn’t want to worry about keeping them in stock all the time.”Other people might have put a pin in those ideas, waiting to offer them when the company was bigger, but the Dialed team is all about shaking things up. The solution, they decided, was their small batch launches, which started in 2023. These launches are limited runs of extra customied designs.w.ometimes we offer a limited quantity of sights,v -ollman said. “Sometimes we limit the time the batch is open, and then we'll make the sights that were ordered. It's been fun to see the excitement around those launches.v“The launches bring more attention to the brand and help us reach more people,” Scott Bakken said. “They’re something truly unique that’s not being done in our category.”LESSON #9: Hook Up with Influencers0orking with respected influencers and celebrities is a good way to expand your company’s reach.Investing in the right industry partners was one of the areas Altra Arrows focused on early.“We sat down and came up with a wish list of people to partner with,” Josh Sidebottom said. “Levi Morgan was at the top of that list. Michael Waddell and Bone Collector were at the top of that list. Both Levi and Michael have large audiences. They’re trusted names in the industry.”Arsenal • November 2025Montana Decoy • December 2025Continued from Page 56

These points are staggered front and rear to help spread abuse around and effectively prolong the life of the target. The layered foam allows easily attaching paper or synthetic target faces during here’s no way around the fact your customers need a quality target to sight in, tune and practice with their bows at home. This makes archery targets a mainstay product category for any well-stocked archery shop. The archery industry is awash in target options, but Power-Stop has been in continuous business longer than them all—beginning as Hips Targets in the 1980s. The name might have changed, but Power-Stop still offers quality U.S.-made targets bluecollar archers can afford.Power-Stop’s business is based on foam fabrication, making them more than an archery target manufacturer. The foam products used by Power-Stop are also used outside the archery industry for a plethora of every-day uses, making it highly likely that many of the foam products you use regularly practice to introduce target spots, field archery animals or fun archery games. The Range 24’s generous 24-by-24-by-14-inch dimensions also make it the perfect backstop for practicing long-range shooting or setting up the yardage tape on mover targets. 68MARKET TRENDS GEAR REPORTTBY PATRICK MEITINArsenalCLOUD FREEDOM™ Saddlesimultaneously distributes weight between the top and bottom of the saddle. This introduces a more balanced and supportive platform across the entire body. The system also dramatically simplifies adustments, allowing independently adusting backrest support and bottom support through ust two primary adustments. This introduces an intuitive, fast and repeatable approach that allows dialing in comfort without distraction. This saddle also introduces a new %3fl&E (duster system. This rope-adustment approach reduces upward rope friction by up to 300 percent, so all adustments feel smooth, controlled and effortless. Arsenal concentrated on this area because they believe when adustments are easier, hunters will take advantage of that to create improved posture, better circulation and greater confidence at height. The system arguably delivers the smoothest, safest and most user-friendly saddle-rope adustment system available ree saddle hunting has become the hunting style de jour of all the cool kids—and Arsenal’s at the forefront of saddle design.#wner .cott flee previously worked with several big archery brands, but with Arsenal he wanted to shed price-point parameters and develop products from the best materials, technologies and engineering possible. This eliminates irksome sag and bulk, folding neatly to reduce its footprint by approximately ;4 percent, while also eliminating bounce by riding securely above the hips. The design provides the smallest, most controlled transport configuration currently offered in a saddle system. 70MARKET TRENDS GEAR REPORTINSIDE ARCHERY JANUARY 2026WBY PATRICK MEITINDialed Archery3VX Mag OptionWebXtra ■ For a closer look at this product and many others, check them out at insidearchery.com.Dialed Archery didn’t invent mover sights, but they certainly have helped refine them. The company’s angled elevation rail system is a major part of this. This allows adding 54 to 64 yards to a sight’s maximum effective range Bdepending on arrow speedC and faster yardage selection, without creating added bulk or ungainly geometry. The company’s VOID dial system also creates sights that are clean, streamlined and straightforward. Dialed Archery continues to move forward with highly-unique bow-sight designs, the newest concept, the new &ialed 6+( Mag. The 6+( Mag includes three vertical, individually-adjustable pins serving bowhunters looking for a simpler, cleaner multi-pin aiming system that also ensures precision. I’ve long appreciated the vertical-pin approach. It creates a cleaner, uncluttered sight picture, and the vertical pin orientation allows lining up the pin stack against an animal’s front leg for more confident shot placement. Each of the three pins is microadjustable and the bubble level is mounted at the top of the round scope aperture, where, in my opinion, it is more quickly referenced while at full hen single-pin mover sights arrived on the scene I recognized the advantage of having essentially unlimited range capabilities, and the ability to dial precise yardage, but soon found I just wasn’t cool enough under pressure to get the most out of them. They seemed always to be set on the wrong yardage when game was encountered and they were problematic on shifting animals. I missed many shot opportunities as a result. The arrival of multi-pin movers rekindled my interest—which also occurred at a time when gear-driven mechanisms were introduced, effectively making these sights lighter and more compact. A three-pin mover, in particular, proved quite practical. had common 84-, 64- and 94-yard ranges covered to allow instantly addressing close shot opportunities, but also the ability to dial for longer shots as needed. draw. t could be argued that the level is superfluous, as the vertical-pin arrangement essentially promotes intuitive pin leveling. The scope aperture holds a bright-white ring visible in low light to allow faster peep alignment. The three pins give shooters instant options for sudden or fleeting shot opportunities at 84, 64 and 94 yards. 'oth .454- and .45=-inch diameter pins are offered—backed by bright fiber optic material to lend confidence to any shot opportunity. #rdered as a fixed-pin Dialed Strike option, it offers the ideal treestand{whitetail sight where few shots exceed those ranges. In a Dialed PrLf mover the 6+( Mag head allows automatic reaction to close encounters—where intimacy breeds urgency—while also allowing dialing to 544 yards or more—again, depending on bow speed and arrow weight. 'owhunters, in particular, will truly appreciate Dialed’s over-built approach to designing sights. Its rugged all-metal construction and carefullyengineered lockdowns mean these sights will hold ero under the roughest bowhunting conditions, despite being ultra-lightweight and trim. Dialed also provides color-matched options to stylishly pair with today’s flagship bows. To learn more, visit them at dialedarchery.com. MARKET TRENDS PRO SHOP ESSENTIALSINSIDE ARCHERY JANUARY 2026 72BY INSIDE ARCHERY STAFFFirenock: Applied Science with Pro Shops at the Center than measurement. Preparation tools allow those variables to be observed, adjusted and repeated deliberately, shifting tuning from trial and error to process. Two of the clearest expressions of this approach are the Professional Arrow Preparation System, or PAPS, and the Aerovane® Jig. Designed and assembled in house, the PAPS locates an arrow’s first dynamic bend, or spine index, and establishes a consistent reference point for vane or cock feather orientation. By aligning each arrow to flex in the same direction during launch, technicians gain direct control over dynamic behavior without changing shafts, bows or draw weight. Optional vibration and laser modules amplify and measure deflection, moving spine indexing beyond theory and into a visible, repeatable process. The Aerovane® Jig applies the same intentionality to fletching. Engineered specifically to unlock the full potential of the Aerovane airfoil system, it uses precision-machined tapered chucks to eliminate play, bearing-supported slide mechanisms for controlled offset and a clamp built for exceptional straightness. In a shop environment, preparation and fletching systems at this level of control allow vane orientation to function as a tunable performance variable rather than a cosmetic choice. This systems-first philosophy carries practical consequences for both pro shops and their customers. Rather than assuming failure and replacement, Firenock assumes longevity and proactive support. That philosophy is reinforced through an unconditional no-fault warranty and a lifetime unlimited refresh policy, which shifts risk away from pro shops and supports long-term system stewardship.Maintaining that standard requires a deliberate dealer network. Firenock-certified pro shops undergo hands-on training and ongoing education, with an expectation that technicians understand not only how products are installed, but why they function as they do. This reflects the company’s broader view of archery as an applied science, one in which variables must be systematically tested, shared, compared and optimized.Often recognized for its lighted nock technology, Firenock has spent two decades building far more than a single product category. The approach is intentional and measured, focused on long-term knowledge transfer and sustainability rather than quick transactions. For pro shops, that means systems that support real service, repeat visits and informed customers in a retail landscape that continues to change. Archery retailers interested in becoming a Firenock-certified dealer can find additional information at firenock.com/dealers. IAMuch of the modern archery accessories market operates on a non-durable, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) model. Products are designed for rapid turnover, frequent replacement and shelf velocity. While that approach favors scale and price competition, it leaves little room for intentionality, long-term preparation or the independent pro shop.Firenock was built by deliberately rejecting that model.Approaching its 20th year in business in 2026, a notable lifespan in an industry defined by consolidation, acquisitions and brands that rarely endure, Firenock has remained focused on building long-lasting systems rather than disposable products. Its growth has not been driven by chasing trends or stopgap solutions, but by refining how archery equipment is prepared, built and maintained over time. In practice, that philosophy places pro shops, not point-of-sale transactions, at the center of the archery experience.Independent pro shops now operate in an increasingly competitive environment. Big box retailers compete on price, direct-to-consumer brands remove service from the equation and online platforms offer convenience without accountability. In this landscape, short-lived accessories rarely build durable businesses. What endures is expertise, trust and the ability to support equipment throughout its full life cycle. That reality is not incidental; it defines how Firenock designs its systems. While the company offers an extensive range of interchangeable arrow components, its long-standing focus has been on preparation tools and upgrade systems. These are not designed as one-time purchases, but as tools that support consistent, service-driven shop work. When arrows are built intentionally, the build does not end at checkout. Customers return for inspection, tuning, refinement and education—not simply to replace parts, but to deepen their understanding of how equipment performs. In that sense, the model resembles that of a precision musical instrument. While the instrument itself may last decades, its performance depends on careful preparation and periodic adjustment. Small changes in tension, alignment or balance can meaningfully alter response and consistency. In archery, that level of care replaces assumption with understanding, turning invisible forces into measurable outcomes and reinforcing the shop’s role as an expert rather than a reseller.Treating archery as an applied science means paying attention to variables that are often overlooked. Arrow behavior under load, recovery timing and concentricity all influence consistency, yet many traditional build methods rely on convention rather Firenock: Applied Science with Pro Shops at the Center

Annihilator BroadheadsThe BloodReign is new from Annihilator for 2026, a fusion of fixed and mechanical traits that cuts wide but drives deep. The heat-treated, three-edged stainless steel tip is ʶ‑inch wide with ƶmm scoops to create a 1‑inch fixed‑blade entry wound. The three .060-inch-thick mechanical blades expand to 1 ¾ inches, but adapt to 1 1/16 inches should they encounter bone to prevent failure. “Force-Indexed Geometry” automatically controls blade position without O-rings, rubber bands clips or retention collars, allowing each mechanical blade to respond independently. Mechanical blades are serrated to saw through bone and tendon, the ferrule milled from Grade 5 titanium. Single-bevel designing creates devastating spiral wound channels.
