FULL NAME OF COUNTRY:
The real name of the United Kingdom
or better known as the UK is the
United Kingdom of Great Britian and
Northem Ireland.
The name UK is a union of four
countries namely England, Scotland,
Wales and Northem Ireland. The term
Great Britian (or British) only involves
the countries of Scotland, England
and Wales.
GOVERMENT :
The prime minister of united kingdom is Boris
Johnson. He leads the government with the support
of cabinet and other minister.
CURRENCY :
Pound sterling is the currency of the
United Kingdom. Sterling is the
fourth most traded currency in the
foreign exchange market, after the
US dollar, euro and Japanese yen.
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT :
London Heathrow Airport is one of
the busiest airports in the world. It is
also the busiest airport in the
United Kingdom.
COUNTRY CODE :
Country dialling codes were
agreed in the early 1960s by
the International Telecoms
Union. The UK and France
were the main players in the
ITU, so they took the "nicer"
codes 44 and 33.

RACE AND RELIGION :
The official religion of the UK is Christianity and
churches of all denominations can be found
throughout the UK such as Catholic, Protestant,
Baptist and Methodist. The other major religions are
Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism, Judaism and Buddhism.

located in western Europe. The
Atlantic Ocean, the North Sea,

There is only one land border in the United
Kingdom, and it is on the island of Ireland. The
Channel Tunnel, which runs beneath the English
Channel, has connected the United Kingdom and
France since 1994. Belgium, Denmark, France,
Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, and the Faroe
Islands all share maritime boundaries with the
United Kingdom (Denmark).

Scotland is the largest region in the
United Kingdom in terms of total area. In
2016, the overall area of the United
Kingdom was estimated to be 244,381
square kilometres.
Capital City Of United Kingdom
London is England's and the United Kingdom's
capital and largest city. The City of London, the city's
historic core and financial hub, was founded by the
Romans as Londinium and retains mediaeval limits.

The UK is in the Western European Time Zone. It currently
abides by EU Daylight (Summer) Saving Time rules.
When Daylight Saving Time rules are not in use, UK is on GMT
(Greenwich Mean Time), which is the Standard Time.
The Daylight Saving period is called British Summer Time (BST),
one hour ahead of GMT (GMT+1).
Climate
The UK has a temperate climate. In general, this
means that Britain gets cool, wet winters and warm,
wet summers. It rarely features the extremes of heat
or cold, drought or wind that are common in other
climates. The weather conditions are also very
changeable.

the UK.
The UK's largest lake
is Lough Neagh in

Dungeness is the only desert in the UK, and it is a
headline on the coastal area of Kent in England. It is a
large triangular shaped desolate landscape formed of
gravel and shell debris. The name Dungeness is
derived from Old Norse language, which means
headland.
The Dyke valley is the longest, deepest and
widest 'dry valley' in the UK
Sea and Ocean
North Sea, shallow, northeastern arm of the
Atlantic Ocean, located between the British
Isles and the mainland of northwestern
Europe and covering an area of 220,000
square miles (570,000 square km).
The nearest ocean to the UK is
the Atlantic Ocean. It
stretches from Europe to
North and South America, and
is the second largest of the
five oceans
