ZZZZZZZcXXQnZnnZnnZnnennZnnZnnZnnZnnZn This design contains no fractional stitches so it
would be absolutely fine to stitch on aida if you
ZZZZccccCCCCCZnnnZZZnccZZZnnnZZZnnnZZn prefer. However, we recommend evenweave for
this project – evenweave is a much finer and
ZZZZZcCCCLLLCCCnZZcccXXZnZZnZZnZZnZZn softer fabric than aida, so it makes an elegant
choice for soft furnishings like cushions.

How to make the hanging

Trim your finished stitching, leaving a

13cm (1in) border along the sides and

top edges and a 5cm (2in) border along
the bottom edge. On the back of your
evenweave mark out a point along the
bottom edge, and cut out with an added
1cm seam allowance. Cut a piece of backing
fabric to match.

Place your backing fabric and stitched

2piece together with right sides facing,

and sew a 1cm (½in) seam around all edges,
leaving a 4cm (1½in) gap for turning. Turn,
press and then slip stitch the gap closed.

To make a tab, cut out two strips of

3backing fabric measuring 14x6cm

(5½x2½in). With right sides together, sew
around, leaving a gap for turning. Turn
through, press and slip stitch the gap closed.
Repeat for the other tab.

Fold a tab in half over the top edge of

4the stitching, 1.5cm (½in) from the sides

and pin in place. Repeat for other tab.

Take your chosen button and stitch to

5the centre of each tab ensuring you sew

through all the layers - securing them in
place.

Place you dowel rod through the loops
