Question 1 : Describe the things that bring you the greatest happiness
Describe the things that bring you the greatest happiness
"Happiness is essentially a deep, harmonious inner pleasure and approval," observed Francis
Willshire. As we can see, everyone has their own happiness that would make their lives more
enjoyable and fun to relieve stress from studies, overwork, burnout, or family matters. The
best way for me to achieve all this happiness is by making something that I am really satisfied
with. But, everyone has different things that bring them the greatest happiness, because
humans have different desires and emotions in their lives, such as wanting money, health,
hobbies, and others. As for me, having a pet, having an amazing friendship and food would
make me happy.
First and foremost, things that bring me the greatest happiness is having an amazing
friendship, which would make me a stronger person besides having happiness. Based on
research by Arygle (2001; Lucas and
Dyrenforth 2006), friendship is an
important source of happiness, mostly
for everyone. With friends, I can share
my problems and happiness, which can
lessen the burden on my mind. For
example, when I have problems with
studies or making assignments, I can
share the problems with my friends,
and sometimes they give me some
positive words and encourage me to
study hard so that I can get what I want in my life. Friendship can also improve my health by
providing positive vibes, encouraging each other and making me not give up easily when I am
in trouble. To show you what I mean, I can have quality time with our friends, such as spending
time together doing some exciting activities such as going to a theme park and talking about
daily activities. By doing these activities, I can strengthen the relationship with my friends and
get to know each other deeply while having fun and laughing together. In general, it can be
said that friendship and happiness are associated because it allows one to meet his or her
basic needs. As Aristotle once said, a friend is " a single soul dwelling in two bodies."

Furthermore, one of the greatest
things that brings me happiness is food.
Food is one of the sources that helps me
keep going for the day. Food has the
power to give me extra dopamine to keep
myself happy, either when I am
depressed or sad if I have any problems
in my life. Happiness and food are highly
connected because when I eat, it will
bring me great pleasure. Food such as home-made food makes me happy the most. The food
that my mother made for me made me enjoy my life the most because it contained
nourishment and also the love that was poured into the food. I enjoy eating foods that are new
to me and also foods that I have not tried yet because they will tingle my taste buds. Spending
time cooking with my family to eat with them is also one of the pleasures that food gives me.
Having fun with the family while making our favourite food. Food is a joy for me to escape
reality in life. Additionally, based on a study by White et al. (2013) stated that molecular proof
has been found by researchers demonstrating that diets higher in carbohydrates increase
serotonin levels, also known as the "happy hormone," in the brain, reducing the negative
effects. As we can see, we can reduce stress when we eat something that we like and more
often when we are stressed. So, Figure 1 shows how likely students were to eat when they
feeling negative emotions and it is proven that food would bring the greatest happiness to
everyone.

Other than that, things that bring me the greatest happiness is having a pet, which can
make me a better person. In general, I know that having a pet would bring some beneficial
effects, especially the positive aspects of mental
health like happiness. As proof, some researchers
have found that pet ownership is associated with
lower levels of depression (Clark Cline 2010). For
sure, when I spend my time with my pet, which is a
cat, it would help me reduce my stress level because
I can play with them and take care of them, like
bringing them to a cat grooming centre. Moreover,
having a pet like a cat would also make me a caring
and loving person because it would help me love
animals, and they would be a part of my life that brings
me the greatest happiness. Then, having a pet can train me to be more disciplined and
independent because I have to feed my cat on time and learn to keep my cat clean. Pets like
cats are more loyal and caring, which means they are able to understand many words that I
often use, such as the time I called their name for giving food. Cats can also bring the greatest
happiness because they would be my companionship when I feel bored. In addition, when I
have a pet, I have opportunities for exercise and outdoor activities like walking around the park
or lake, which can improve my cardiovascular health and allow me to spend my time doing
something that I love, which can lead to happiness.
On a final note, it is proven that having friends, having a pet, and food are the greatest
happiness for me. Having an amazing friendship would make me feel less lonely. Then, food
makes me happy when I have a big tummy and it can improve my good mood. Lastly, having
a pet allowed me to have a companion in telling my story. These things are really important
for someone to manage stress in their life so that they can enjoy their life for a while, and
basically, all the little daily rituals and habits I have lead to happiness. In general, I should find
more alternative ways to achieve the greatest happiness, such as making good relationships
with everyone like family members, friends, teachers, and people surrounding me, so that I
can achieve the greatest happiness in my life.
