MY DREAMS

By-Sri Varshini Vedula

My dream is to do something nobody has ever done,
I want to do it before anyone.
Maybe I could get the cure for Cancer or explore the
universe,
What if I cracked the secret Pharaoh Curse.

I don't know what I am going to do,
As long as it is something new.
Although it should be used for good not bad,
I don't want it to make the people sad.

It should be something that helps everyone,
Till then let me enjoy my childhood and have fun.

Book of the Week:

Name of the reviewer: Fatima Ali, Year 7G2

Title of the Book:) Diary of Wimpy Kid: Diper Överlöde :)

A Brief Synopsis: When he decides to tag along with his brother
Rodrick's band, Löded Diper, Greg doesn't realize
what he's getting into. But he soon learns that
late nights, unpaid gigs, fighting between band
members, and money troubles are all part of the
rock 'n' roll lifestyle.

Why would you recommend the book?

Personally, I have always loved
Wimpy kid books, but this one topped
it off. It’s extremely funny and
entertaining. Greg’s personality can
be related by many people. Greg as a
serious,funny,diplomatic, self
cautious and unreasonable person is
very relatable.

Short stories

Written by Malak 9G

Chapter 1

A knock was heard from my room. I ran down the stairs
and grabbed the basket of sweets.. When I opened the
door, I was met with the sight of… no one. Weird.

I shook the thought off, remembering that it was
Halloween night. Some mischievous kids found more joy
in playing tricks than receiving treats.

As I was walking up to my room, I heard another knock.
I scoffed, turning around. Descending the stairs, I
wondered who it may’ve been. It was rather late for
children to be trick-or-treating at that time. 02:42
AM, read the clock hanging on my wall.

I unlocked the door, but once again, was met with the
sound of the droplets of rain falling and hitting the
ground. “Hello?” I looked around, trying to catch
whoever it was. Nobody.

I slowly closed the door, making sure to lock it, then,
ascended the stairs. And again, the doorbell. “Oh, come
on!” I stomped down the steps in annoyance, swinging
the door open, closing my eyes, and inhaling a deep
breath. “Who is this? It isn’t funny. Trust me, if I
catch you, I’ll have a word with your parents!”

“Woah, woah. Calm down. It’s me.”

When I opened my eyes, I saw my neighbor. “Ralph?”
I frowned. “What are you doing here?”

“Some kids were trying to knock on my door, or
something. I can’t tell if it’s a prank or not. The
service is cut off, due to the rain, so I came over.”
He shrugged, seeming just as displeased as I was.

I nodded. “The same thing is happening with me, too.”

“Adam.” He stared at me for a second, then said,
“are you going to let me in?”

“Oh, sorry. Come in.”

My friend walked into my house, taking his boots and
raincoat off. “Who do you think could be behind
this?” He questioned as we walked to the kitchen.

“I have no idea. They’re most likely a group of
children who like staying up past their bedtime.” I
shrugged, pulling two mugs out of one of the
cabinets. They had I’m hollow inside carved on them
with the image of a pumpkin. I bought them off a
sketchy website that sold handmade items for
half-a-pound each.

“We both know that’s not what it is, Adam. It’s Halloween.
Haven’t you seen the movies? They target their victims on
Halloween night.”

“Exactly,” I said, before throwing two teabags into the
mugs. “It’s Halloween night. Kids like to play around. Not
everything is going to be a movie, Ralph. Snap out of it.”

He rolled his eyes, shaking his head. “Well, when you get
kidnapped by a creepy man, don’t say I didn’t warn you.

I slid the mug - after preparing the tea – to Ralph. He
looked at the tea, then back up at me. “How much sugar did
you put in that?”

“A teaspoon. Why?”

“You’re scary. Are you sure you’re not behind all of this?
Pass me the sugar.”

I stared at him blankly as I reached out for the sugar,
passing that to him as well. Silence was all I heard, before-
knock, knock.

“For the love of sweet tea.” Ralph glared at me as he
mentioned the sweet tea. “Stay here, I’ll get it.”

He walked to the door, slightly gaping it, and looking out.
“Oh, hello there.”

Teacher’s Day
Celebrations in WSA

Class Experiences

Last week we had many progress checks and
tests, but this week was pretty much normal, it’s a
little tiring to walk to another class for each
session but overall school is amazing and fun.
Hope you all have a fantastic day<3
-Diya 7G2
This week was pretty fun. We planned our
adventure stories and did many fun activities.
Teachers day was also beyond awesome! Me and
my Friends distributed donuts to our teachers and
it was so fun as well! We have great lessons which
are easy to follow up with. For SEWA day, I
donated some rice for those who are not so
fortunate. Overall, it was a very thrilling week!
-Fatima Ali 7G2

This week Awesome! Well we did have plenty of

Class Experiences

Hello!, I joined GEMS Winchester at the beginning of
the year and my classes are quite amazing and
fantastic. I have met incredible teachers with a goal
of making sure their students are taught in a way I
never knew. I even made a few friends here and they
are pretty cool and chill (even fun like me :D) I have
also made a speech for teacher’s day. and gave rice
for SEWA Day for the less fortunate You must have
this read this from others. I hope to meet more
people and I also wish everyone who reads this to
have a lovely and greatttt day !!
Ahsan 9B1

During my time in this school, there were some moments
that I enjoyed doing, but my best moments that I’ve
experienced was during my English class. I remember my
presentation in this class. I always had a fear of public
speaking, but looking back at it, I am more confident than
my previous self. At first, I didn’t want to do it, but finally I
did it and that was one of my best moments. When i went
to present I felt afraid and terrified to speak in front of
people. But that is when I felt so good for the effort I
applied on. Now i felt so much better than my first day of
presentations because now I know can do whatever I
want to do. Some teachers or even students can learn
from my experience is that we have to overcome our fears
and not let them control ourselves because we can’t know
our capabilities if we are afraid.

CLass Experiences

This week in school was enjoyable. Again, I’m getting a
moderate amount of assignments and it’s not as distressing
as last year. The lessons we’re having this year in nearly
every subject are interesting and fun. For us teenagers,
lessons always get boring, and we’re almost always stressed
because of the amount of work and the pressure of
remembering everything but this year is an exception. The
math progress check this week was really easy and thanks
to Ms. Ambily for informing us about the test prior 1 week so
we could prepare. I really liked the topic In English. Learning
about mystery stories and analyzing them. I liked how there
was a piece of text which was left on a cliffhanger. We had
to analyze that and predict what could possibly happen
next.

So far, school’s been amazing. I really am enjoying the
feel of walking to classrooms and using lockers. It
makes me feel grown up. I like the challenge of finishing
assignments within limited time and the fun of solving
problems. Suspicious activities have been occuring, but
I’m sure it won’t interrupt my studies. It’s really great to
have your day planned ahead and keep a
diary/notebook to jot my notes. It really has helped me
alot.

CLass Experiences

When I first went into class I felt really happy. It felt as if I
suddenly grew up but my body has remained the same. Looking
at all the younger kids made me feel as if I am a PRETTY old
student. What I enjoyed the most about English class was when
we did a roleplay about the “Discontented Fish” . It was very fun
planning it with all the others and I hope we have more drama’s
in the future.

SRI VARSHINI-6C

so on everything is going great. The past few weeks of
school were really fun and everyday I learned something
new. It was really tiring at first but of course you get used to
it.I also enjoyed pink day, sewa day, and teachers day. I
enjoyed all the lessons and I am excited for the year. Thank
you for reading Bye.
