What are superlative adjectives?

HOW TO FORM SUPERLATIVE ADJECTIVES:
We will divide this topic into 3 parts:

 Short Adjectives (They have only one syllable)
 Long Adjectives (They have more than one syllable)

 Irregular adjectives

SHORT ADJECTIVES

3

LONG ADJECTIVES

When a two syllable adjective ends with y we need to replace the y with an i and then add the est.
Examples:

busy Comparative Superlative
dirty busier busiest
easy dirtier dirtiest
funny easier easiest
noisy funnier funniest
happy noisier noisiest
heavy happier happiest
heavier heaviest

Untuk perkataan kata sifat yang mempunyai 2 suku kata yang berakhir dengan huruf–y,

two syllable adjective = superlative adjectives

Busy = y i (+ ‘est’)
Busiest

For an adjective with two or more syllabus (that does not end with y), we use add the word most or least in front of the
adjective.

Examples:

active Comparative Superlative
careless more active, less active most active, least active
famous more careless. less careless most careless. least careless
cheerful more famous. Less famous most famous. least famous
beautiful more cheerful, less cheerful most cheerful, least cheerful
generous more beautiful, less beautiful most beautiful, least beautiful
intelligent more generous, less generous most generous, least generous
valuable more intelligent, less intelligent most intelligent, least intelligent
more valuable, less valuable most valuable, least valuable

Exceptions: There are some adjectives that have irregular comparative and superlative forms.
