SIGMA Newsletter

We all communicate one another about several topics on daily basis
by different communication channels. Our team has asked a very
pertinent question about what is the one platform which will help us
share apart from job related topics. Some of our team members felt
that Newsletter is a great platform to share many topics among us
and bring individual’s talent to forefront.

I am sure this will help us have a better understanding about our
team and it’s potential. Request all of you to actively participate in
this new initiative and bring out a good newsletter. Some of the topics
I could imagine are Personal Experience, Animated concept sharing,
Books to read, Productive improvements, health tips and Technology.

I thank the team for this initiative.

Beat the Heat..!

-Jenifer

Drink plenty of water:-

During the hot summer months, heat and
sweat can leave your body dehydrated. A
lack of water is harmful to your body and
can also make you crave food when you’re
not actually hungry.

Exfoliate:-

Summer means an increase of dead skin
cells so it is important to exfoliate your skin
to keep it smooth and silky. Simply use a
loafer for a light scrub or make your own
exfoliation lotion using a handful of oatmeal,
milk and yoghurt.

Beware of ‘healthy’ smoothies:-

Fruit smoothies are a great way to get your
five-a-day and keep refreshed throughout
the summer. A healthy smoothie should be
made with fruit, juice, low fat-yoghurt and
ice. Use any fruit you might have or have
kept in the freezer, and throw it all in a
blender to make a perfect summer drink.

Olive oil:-

Olive oil is a healthy fat which contains
essential fatty acids that help skin resist UV
damage. These fatty acids are also part of
the cell membranes that keep in all that
moisture your body loses through heat and
sweat during the summer. In order to
protect your skin and keep it supple,
consume about 1 tablespoon of olive oil daily
or add it to a healthy salad or fish dish in
order to get all those essential fatty acids.

STORY But…

- Raju Thomas
A farmer every day carrying water from a well to his farm by using
two pots which is connected at the end of a long wooden bar which
will keep on his shoulder. Among these two pots, one having a small
hole under its bottom surface. So that, while reaching in the farm,
almost half of the water oozed out of this pot. Even though this is

repeated, the farmer didn’t thrown out the damaged pot.

So one day, the pot asked to the farmer ‘Even though I am not
perfect, but never avoided me from your purpose. Why?’ The farmer
did not say anything to the pot. Next day, while taking water from
the well, he told to the damaged pot to watch the side which it moves

on every day and also the other side.

As the farmer told, the pot observed the side which it was traveled
every day and found that different types of beautiful, colored flower

plants are grown there. But the other side is totally barren.
Farmer told to the pot, ‘I can understand your incapability, but the
same time, I am able to make that incapability as your capability

to do things which other pot not able to do’.

Our limitation are only our thoughts but to that great farmer who
plant and cares in our growth never thinks about our limitations but
transforms our disability as our ability, Always believe you are in
the hands of that great almighty farmer. Do your level best and rest

he will take care.

LLama - Location profile

-Alwin

We are aware of GPS and Wi-Fi based location tracking method. Let me introduce
LLama which is an application available in google store which doesn't use GPS or
Wi-Fi to remember your location.

Amazed!!

Our mobile phone is known as cell phone because the mobile signal is spread in the
form of geographical cell.

Each cell has its own identification number.
Hence when we move we are actually jumping
from one cell to another cell.

Let me introduce Llama, an application
available in Google store.

Using this App you can control your phone
volume and Ring tone profile automatically.

For example when you are home the volume
and ring tone can be changed to medium, when
you are outside the same can be changed to loud
and when you are in office it can be changed to
mild and so on.

This application also doesn't consume much battery since it
doesn't use GPS or Wi-Fi scanning method.

Once the application is installed, you need to make the
application record or learn the cell location based on your
current location. This is just a one-time activity which can
be done in a day.

You can even make other application to run automatically
based on your location profile.

Do explore this amazing app.

Story from Swami Sukhabodhananda
The Secret of Real Happiness
- Saravanan

A very rich man came to a saint with a big, filled gunny bag and waited for him to finish his
meditation. When the saint finished his meditation, the rich man said, “Swami ji, I am a very rich
in terms of the worldly belongings. Though I have all this, I do not see real happiness. I have tried
different ways. I never see real happiness. Now, I have converted all my material belongings into
jewels and all of them are in this bag. You take all this and show me the path to real happiness”.

Unexpected for the rich man, the saint took the bag on his shoulder and started running. The rich
man was shocked and then realized what was happening. Then he went chasing the yogi. Having
maintained good health, the yogi ran easily taking turns in to different streets. The rich man found
it difficult to follow the yogi. While running, the rich man kept worrying “Alas! Finally, I have lost
all my properties to a cheater!”. The saint finally came to the same place where they started and

the rich man came following.

The yogi handed over the bag back to the rich man, “This is your
property. Have it!”. The rich man became very happy that he did not
lose his properties. The saint asked the man “Are you happy now?”.

“Yes. A lot!” replied the rich man.

The yogi concluded, “The bag was with you even when you came here. But you were not happy.
Now the bag is back with you and you are very happy! Happiness is not in the bag… but it is in our
mind. You get real happiness when you realize this. Happiness comes from within and not from
outside”.

Know your fellows

Bharadwaj and Poorna has planned a surprise get together at
the meeting room and they surprised us more with a fun
activity. In this activity, all our names were written on a
piece of paper and we were asked to take one from the lot.
And we have to write two or more positive qualities of the
person whom we have picked.
It was real fun & we got to know more about our team
members.
These kind of fun activities are always encouraged at SIGMA.

Space Makers

IBM has invited ideas to make our workspace more
interactive & positive way to improve productivity.
We have contributed around 20 ideas and entered
the competition with a title “Saintly Spaces”.
Approx. 600 teams have participated in the race
from the Asia-Pacific zone.
Though we couldn’t make it to the final 40 teams
list, our ideas were highly appreciated by many
investors.
