LINEARITY TEST

There are three types of linearity test that can be performed with the CRC®-35. The type of
test must be selected and initialized in UTIL, DEFINE TESTS, LINEARITY

The Linearity test should be performed quarterly.

STANDARD TEST

The standard test measures the activity of Tc99m over a period of time.
The results are plotted on a semi-log graph and the best fit is found. The deviation of the
results from this fit are reported.

If 2 or more measurements have already been made, a summary screen will be displayed to
allow the previous results to be reviewed and the last measurement repeated if so desired.

Each measurement begins with Fig 8-22, showing the Test number and for all tests except

INVENTORY

The CRC®-35R is capable of maintaining an inventory of 100 items. These can be multi-
dose vials or unit doses. When the desired dose and time are input, the CRC®-35R will
indicate the correct volume to be withdrawn from a multi-dose vial in inventory (Withdraw
Dose from Inventory). A dose can also be dispensed from inventory.

The Inventory functions are accessed from the Measurement screen by pressing
INV (F2) key.

The main Inventory Screen (Fig 9-1) will then appear displaying all items in inventory for the
current nuclide (Tc99m in the example).

The items appear on the screen in the order of reverse entry -- most recently entered is first
and oldest is last.

If an item has expired, an X will appear in front of it.

If there are no inventory items for the chosen nuclide, only the ADD and DEL keys will be
displayed.

Use the NUCLIDE KEYS, USER KEYS or NUCL KEY to display inventory for another
nuclide, if desired.

SETUP

The selections in Setup Menu are described in this chapter. See the preceding chapter for
directions for entering password.

Ci / Bq

During measurements, the user may switch between Ci and Bq or the key may be locked out
so that only Ci or only Bq may be used. Select USER SELECTABLE to be able to switch
between Ci and Bq. Select Ci ONLY to lock out Bq. Select Bq ONLY to lock out Ci.
If USER SELECTABLE is not selected, a beep will sound when Ci / Bq Key is pressed.

If Ci / Bq is chosen from the SETUP MENU, the Fig 11-1 appears:

Ci/Bq SAVE

[Fig 11-1]

The current setting is displayed.

Press Ci/Bq to change the setting from USER SELECTABLE to Ci ONLY to Bq ONLY.
Press SAVE to accept the displayed setting and return to SETUP menu.

REFERENCE SOURCES

Before an accuracy or constancy test can be performed, a description of the Reference
Source(s) to be used with the test must be entered.

Reference Source Menu
The first selection on this menu is for entering Standard Reference Source Data for Co60,
Co57, Ba133, or Cs137.
The second selection which is for additional reference nuclides must be used before entering
other isotopes as reference sources.

Refer to Fig 11-2:

[Fig 11-2]
To enter a Standard Reference Source into memory, select REFERENCE SOURCE DATA,
Fig 11-3 appears:

ADDING A REFERENCE SOURCE
To add a reference source, press ADD key.
Fig 11-4 will appear with all the built-in reference nuclides and user added nuclides listed:

[Fig 11-4]

Use arrow keys to highlight desired reference nuclide and then press ENTER.
Select the desired isotope and press ENTER. Fig 11-5 will appear:

UNIT USE DAILY OK

[Fig 11-5]

The nuclide chosen will appear after SOURCE.

Press UNIT to toggle between µCi, mCi, Ci or Bq units.
Press USE to toggle between use for Accuracy, for Constancy , for both or for neither.
Press DAILY to toggle between YES (use daily) and NO (not for daily use).

SERIAL NUMBER: Enter the serial number (numbers and letters). SETUP

Maximum length is 20 characters.

CALIBRATION DATE: Enter the calibration date in the format chosen.

ACTIVITY: Enter the calibration activity. Use the UNIT key if necessary.

USE: Default is BOTH (used for Constancy and Accuracy tests).
DAILY: If the source is to be used for only one of these or neither,
press the USE key to change this setting.
The default is to use the source in the daily test. If it is not to
be used daily, use the DAILY key to change this setting.

Press OK when all entries are correct.

NOTE
If an error is made, the data may be edited at a later time.

DELETING A REFERENCE SOURCE

If a reference source is no longer in use, it may be deleted from the list of reference sources.

When Fig 11-6 appears, use the arrow keys to highlight the source to be deleted and press
DEL key.

The data shown in Fig 11-8 will appear and you will be asked if you want to delete that
source.
Press YES to delete, NO to keep.

EDITING A REFERENCE SOURCE

Data entered for a reference source may be changed.

When Fig 11-9 appears, use the arrow keys to highlight the source to be edited and press
EDIT key.

Fig 11-5 will appear with the current data filled in. Make the desired changes and press OK.

If the wrong nuclide was chosen, select PREV SCREEN by pressing the 2nd key and the 1
key, to return to Fig 11-3.

If the maximum number of additional reference nuclides (4) has already been added, an

error message will appear: NO ROOM TO ADD REF NUCLIDE

If a reference source is not one of the standard nuclides (Co57, Co60, Ba133, Cs137)
select ADDITIONAL REFERENCE NUCLIDES to add that nuclide to the list of
reference nuclides.

DONE

[Fig 11-6]
The standard reference nuclides and current additional nuclides are shown.
Use NUCLIDE KEYS, NUCL KEYS or USER KEYS to choose the nuclide to add or delete.
Press DONE when all desired changes to Reference Nuclides have been made.

ADDING A REFERENCE NUCLIDE
If the Nuclide is not a Reference nuclide (Ra226 in the example) Fig 11-7 appears:

DONE ADD

[Fig 11-7]

Press ADD to add Ra226 to the list of additional reference nuclides and return to Fig 11-6
(Ra226 will now be listed under ADDITIONAL).

DELETING A REFERENCE NUCLIDE
If the nuclide chosen is already an additional reference nuclide, Fig 11-8 appears:

DONE DEL

[Fig 11-8]

Press DEL to delete Ra226 from the list of additional reference nuclides and return to
Fig 11-7 (Ra226 will no longer be listed under ADDITIONAL).

If the wrong nuclide was chosen, press PREV SCREEN to return to Fig 11-7.
If a Co57 or Co60 or Ba133 or Cs137 is chosen, an error message will appear because
these nuclides can neither be added nor deleted.

Select REFERENCE SOURCE DATA to input, edit, or delete calibration data for a reference
source.

Fig 11-9 appears with a list of the current reference sources, showing nuclide number and
serial number.

If no reference sources have been entered, only ADD and DONE keys appear:
