8. Up to 5 additional fields may be entered. These are all numeric fields. Input a name
(32 characters max) for each field that will be needed. Fields that are named will be
available when a patient is entered. If a name is not entered for a field, it will not be
displayed when a patient is entered.

9. Select the ROIs and Detector button. The screen will appear as shown in Figure
15-5.

10. Select the appropriate radio button in the Detector frame to select the detector
(Probe or Well) that will be used for the measurements.

11. In the Select Isotope drop-down list box, select the Isotope that will be measured.
The ROIs appropriate for the selected detector and isotope will be filled in. These
ROIs may be edited or added to.

12. Select the Done button or press ALT+D to save the entries and return to the Protocol
Setup screen Figure 15-3.

13. Once all the entries have been made, select the Next button or press ALT+N on
Figure 15-3. The measurement setup window for the first measurement will appear as
shown in Figure 15-6.

14. In the Measurement Name text box, input a name for the measurement (e.g. Sample
1). (32 characters max)

15. Select the appropriate radio button in the Measurement Type frame to select a
Measurement Type. The default is Sample.

16. Input the Default Sample Volume or Quantity. This field is optional. The value cannot
be entered if the Measurement Type is Background.

17. The Options frame is only active when the Measurement Type is Sample.
• Ask for Actual Sample Quantity – Check the box if the user is to input the
Sample Quantity for the measurement.
• Ask for Sample Date / Time – Check the box if the user is to input the date and
time the sample was collected.

18. In the Counting Time text box, input the counting time in seconds. (10-9,999
seconds)

19. If special instructions are to be displayed for the measurement, type the instructions
in the Instructions for Sample text box.

20. When all the fields are entered, select the Next button or press ALT+N to enter data
for the next measurement. For the last measurement, select the Done button or press
ALT+D to end the protocol entry.

Note: The number of measurement setup screens that appear depends upon the
number of measurements entered in step 3 above.

Viewing Protocols

Select the View button on Figure 15-2 Main Protocol Screen. You can then step through the
screens described in the Adding Protocols section and view the details of the protocol.

Deleting Protocols

Deleting Selected Protocols
On the Main Protocol Screen, select one or more protocols for deletion by clicking in
the check box to the left of the protocol name in the Protocols box. A check should
appear in the check box to indicate it has been selected. The Protocol can also be
selected by first highlighting the desired Protocol by clicking and then double-clicking
anywhere in the grid to place a check in the box. To deselect a protocol, click in its
check box again or double-click anywhere in the grid while the desired Protocol is
highlighted and the check will be removed from the check box.

Note: The status of a check box can be toggled by quickly double-clicking the
desired item.

Select the Delete button on Figure 15-2 Main Protocol Screen. A message window
will appear prompting to verify the deletion(s).

Note: If there is a patient test in progress using the selected protocol, the protocol
cannot be deleted.

Deleting All Protocols
Select the Delete All button on Figure 15-2 Main Protocol Screen. A message
window will appear prompting to verify the deletion(s).

Note: If there is a patient test in progress using the one of the protocols, that
protocol cannot be deleted.

Selecting the Excel Workbook for the Protocol

Note: Before selecting a workbook for the protocol, the protocol must first be set up in the
CAPTUS® 4000e program, and then the steps outlined in the section CUSTOM
PROTOCOLS EXCEL WORKBOOK on page 15-16 must be performed.
