LICENSING

Until you have purchased a license for the program, the program will run in Demonstration
Mode.

The program will operate as if connected to a CRC®-15R Enhanced Calibrator but no
measurements can be obtained from a calibrator and no data can be saved, printed or
exported.

A pre-determined isotope and activity will be displayed.

December 03 11

CAPINTEC, INC CRC®-15 Series Communications

STARTING THE PROGRAM

Double-click the desktop icon created during the installation procedure to start the

CRC®-15 Communications program.

The Main Screen is shown in Figure 8. All functions are accessed from the Main Screen.

Figure 8 Main Screen

From the Main screen, the following functions can be accessed:

• Data Acquisition
• Repeated Acquisition
• Maximum Activity Acquisition
• Setup

Note: The Repeated Acquisition and the Maximum Activity Acquisition buttons are inactive
(grayed out) on the Main Screen for the CRC®-15BT Calibrator.

Data Acquisition
The activity and isotope are displayed and updated every second. Selected measurements
may be saved and saved data may be printed or exported to Excel.

December 03 13

CAPINTEC, INC CRC®-15 Series Communications

If your calibrator is a CRC®-15R Enhanced, CRC®-15 Beta Enhanced or CRC®-15W
Enhanced, the Isotope and User keys will be displayed on the Data Acquisition screen. The
isotope may be changed from the PC and the User keys will display the assigned isotope (for
any other calibrator, the Isotope and User keys are not shown).

If your calibrator is a CRC®-15R Enhanced, CRC®-15 Beta Enhanced, CRC®-15W Enhanced
or CRC®-15PET Enhanced, the Data Acquisition function can also display the readings from
the following tests:

• Daily (which consists of the Zero, Background, System, Accuracy and Constancy
tests)

• System
• Accuracy
• Background

The readings are displayed and updated every second.

Repeated Acquisition
Note: Repeated Acquisition is not available for the CRC®-15BT Calibrator.

The isotope and activity are displayed and updated at time intervals set by the user and for
the number of measurements set by the user. The data for each interval are automatically
saved and may be printed or exported to Excel.

Maximum Activity Acquisition
Note: Maximum Activity Acquisition is not available for the CRC®-15BT Calibrator.

The isotope and activity are displayed and updated at time intervals set by the user. The
maximum activity will also be displayed. The data acquisition must be stopped by the user.
The maximum activity will be automatically saved and may be printed or exported to Excel.

Setup

Used to select the calibrator, select the communications port that the calibrator is connected
to and enter the information to be included on the report headers. The License Request

will be grayed out and blank.

December 03 15

CAPINTEC, INC CRC®-15 Series Communications

For an Enhanced calibrator (15R Enhanced, 15W Enhanced, 15Beta Enhanced) the
Activation Code is the last 4 digits of the calibrator serial number. The Serial Number box
will display the serial number of the calibrator.

Note: Remember that the program only communicates with the calibrator portion of the
CRC®-15Beta, CRC®-15Beta Enhanced, CRC®-15W and CRC®-15W Enhanced.

License Frame

After the Calibrator has been selected, the License Request Form button will be enabled.

Click the button to print a form containing the information necessary to

obtain a license. Contact the Capintec Sales department at 1-800-631-3826 to order your
