WELCOME TO
LOCUST FORK
HIGH SCHOOL!

TOMMY SMITHERMAN, Here at Locust Fork High School, the
PRINCIPAL athletic program offers eight sports for
our students. These programs play an
essential role in teaching our young men
and women to conduct themselves with
honesty and integrity, strive for excellence,
persevere through adversity, make
sacrifices, and compete with dignity and
pride while developing a commitment to
teamwork and service to our school and
community.

Our athletic administration, staff and coaches are committed to providing a challenging,
supportive, and caring environment where our student-athletes can reach their academic, athletic,
and personal potential.

We expect our coaches, athletes and spectators to conduct themselves in a manner that shows
respect and sportsmanship when we interact with opposing teams, coaches, fans, and contest
officials.

The Athletic Booster Club and Emerald Night Band Boosters continue to play a pivotal role
in providing support, energy, and enthusiasm for our athletes, band members, cheerleaders, and
coaches. We thank them, along with the many families and alumni for all they do in our program.

I am excited to be a part of the rich tradition of athletics and look forward to supporting our
community here at LFHS.

Go Hornets!

Tommy Smitherman
Principal/Athletic Director

Dear Locust Fork Hornet Fans,
Welcome to tonight’s game! It’s an exciting time to be a Locust Fork Hornet! We all come
to support our football team, cheerleaders, and our band as they compete and show their
Hornet Pride! This season we celebrate the rich football tradition at Locust Fork in a newly
renovated stadium. I am so proud of the vision and support of the Blount County Board of
Education, the school, and the booster club! This community has always cared about the
school and it’s amazing what we can do when we work together! Thank you for helping us
improve our facilities and for moving Blount County forward! Let’s get behind our young
people tonight and encourage them to compete with class, sportsmanship, and that Hornet
pride!
A special thanks to the administration, coaches, faculty, staff, and booster clubs for all they
do to support our young people and maintain our facilities!

Go Hornets

Rodney Green - Superintendent of Blount County Schools

THE LOCUST FORK
Athletic Booster Club
wishes the Hornets good luck this season!

The Locust Fork Athletic Booster Club would like to thank the
members of the community who support our Athletic Program. We
would like to invite all parents and Locust Fork supporters to join
us in making a difference. The Athletic Booster Club meets every
Sunday before our home football games at 2:30 p.m. in the school

library. Come be a part of the good things happening!

2019 OFFICERS:

ERIC SCOTT HILLERY ANGIE
WEEMS WILLIAMSON GLOVER CALVERT

President Vice President Secretary Treasurer

Dear Parents and Supporters,
Let me begin by introducing myself. My name is Eric Weems and I have been a part of the Locust Fork community since

marrying my wife Bridget Weems, who is a graduate of Locust Fork. Our son Jackson is currently a Junior at Locust Fork High
School and is on the football team. Our daughter, Shiloh is in the 4th grade at Locust Fork Elementary School. My wife and I
have coached in the park leagues for the past 14 years and have seen first hand how beneficial organized sports are for a child.
Being an athlete teaches young children what it means to be part of a team, which helps them to learn life lessons they will
take with them as they graduate and take their turn in the community.

As the 2019 football season gets underway, I am proud to be part of the Locust Fork High School Athletic Booster Club. I
would like to wish our new head coach, Matt Plunkett and our football team, much success this year. I would also like to wish
all our student athletes a successful season. To our 2020 Senior Class: I would encourage you to make the most of this time as
an athlete and to enjoy each moment, they will be memories you will cherish for a lifetime.

I would like to invite each parent or guardian of our athletes and future athletes to come join the Locust Fork High School
Athletic Booster Club. We currently meet on Sundays at 2:30 prior to our home football games at the high school. The Booster
Club was created to aid our school, along with our coaching staff, in providing our athletes with an opportunity to reach their
full potential. We have a great group of athletes at our school that deserve the best from us all. To help them they need your
involvement, your time, and most importantly, your support. They need a community that comes together to do whatever is
necessary to help them succeed, and we as a Booster Club could use your help to ensure we help each athlete and coaching
staff with those needs.

It is an honor to serve these student athletes and I would like to thank those who have entrusted me with this role. GO
HORNETS! And in the words of Coach Plunket“LET’S ROCK AND ROLL!”

Eric Weems President
Locust Fork High School Booster Club

Congratulations to
all our Seniors!

I want to thank the Locust Fork community for the endless support you have given to our athletic program. We are very blessed
with great facilities, great students, great athletes and a great community here in Locust Fork. We expect this to be a very exciting
fall for our football program as we continue to bring the PRIDE back to Locust Fork.
This year’s team slogan is “ALL IN”. Every Friday night, we are in a battle. We believe we are in the most competitive 3A region in
the state of Alabama. It is very important that our players understand that wearing that green jersey is very special. We represent
something much bigger than ourselves. We represent Locust Fork. We expect our student-athletes to represent LFHS with class
and character, both academically and athletically, each and every day.
Our athletes have put countless hours mentally, physically and emotionally to put a product on the field that would make each
of you proud. We pride ourselves on hard work and discipline, as we believe these are the fundamental ingredients that build a
successful football program. As coaches, we coach with passion and expect our players to play with that same passion. As fans, I
hope you will bring passion each every Friday night. You have no idea how much influence your passion and excitement can help
make our program something special here in the great state of Alabama.
I want to say a special thank you to the band, color guard and cheerleaders who also provide excitement for our football team
every Friday night. You have no idea how important you are to our program and how thankful we are for each and every cheer
that comes our way.
