DEAR PARENTS AND SUPPORTERS,
As you know, the 2015 football season is here!
As Athletic Booster Club President, I am very
excited about the upcoming year; but in order to
have a successful year, it takes everyone working
together to accomplish things.
I am very proud of Locust Fork High School, and
I believe in our young people. I also believe our
kids deserve the very best. The Athletic Booster
Club was established to aid our school, along
with our coaching staff and administration, in
providing our young boys and girls an opportunity
to rise to their greatest potential.
I would like to welcome our new principal
Tommy Smitherman and his family to Locust
Fork. I am excited about what he will bring to
our school! I encourage everyone to give him
and his family a warm Hornet welcome! I want
to also congratulate Mrs. Tammy McMinn on her
promotion to Assistant Principal. I know she will
continue to work hard to make Locust Fork a
better place.
If you look around Locust Fork, you will see GREGG ARMSTRONG
the Athletic Booster Club and the Blount County
School Board have partnered to accomplish
several improvements in our athletic facilities. We as the Athletic Booster Club are committed to continuing
working to improve our Athletic facilities and provide our coaches and players with the absolute best!
With all the problems in the world such as drugs, alcohol and many others, I believe our kids need us to
stand behind them more today than ever before. I encourage you to join the Booster Club and myself in
supporting our young people. Let’s all pull together and let them know we are there for them.
During the football season, the Athletic Booster Club will meet to discuss our athletic business at 2:30
p.m. on Sundays during the weeks that we have home games. I encourage all parents and athletic
supporters to attend these meetings and let’s all join together and make the 2015 year our best year ever.
I believe our youth at Locust Fork are worth our time and efforts. I hope to see you at the ballgames and
our booster club meetings.
Remember, your support makes a difference.
GO HORNETS!
Gregg Armstrong, President
Locust Fork Athletic Booster Club
Welcome to
Locust Fork
High School!
Dear Hornet Fans,
The fact that you are reading this letter says
something very special about you. It says that
you care about our community, our school, our
activities and most importantly, our students. If
you didn’t care about these things, you wouldn’t
have taken the time out of your busy life to be
here at a football game. You wouldn’t have
spent your valuable money to buy this program
and to cheer on our players, band members
and cheerleaders. Thank you for caring! You are
appreciated!
Locust Fork is an exceptional community
TOMMY SMITHERMAN, filled with people who have one important thing
PRINCIPAL in common-the well-being of our students. The
crowd at tonight’s football game is a visible
expression of that fact. Thank you for being a
part of what makes Locust Fork exceptional.
I consider it a true privilege to serve our community as the principal of your high
school. I have big shoes to fill, but I have great confidence that Locust Fork High School
will continue and even improve upon its tradition of excellence.
Whether you are a current or former parent, grandparent, guardian or an interested
community member, your involvement in the lives of our young people is crucial. To
that end, I want to invite you to consider how you might play an even bigger role in our
success at LFHS. Do you have time or talents to share? Do you have ideas for how we
might better meet the needs of our community? If so, then we need to talk. I can be
reached by e-mail at [email protected] or by phone at 205-681-7846.
Sincerely,
Tommy Smitherman

am very active in not only my professional
life, but also in my personal life serving
my home church of Pine Grove Missionary
