Proposal for Coastal Pearl

view of art wall in Coastal Pearl living room
Imagine a single dramatic art work on the wall that
shimmers and adds texture

ok…Coastal Pearl wall is not this big, but it can still be
dramatic!

Proposal: fireplace wall

A copperwire diptych on the wall adjacent to fireplace.
Overall measurement 6’h x 5’ wide: each panel (6’h x 2.5’w) to
be constructed of two steel grids with interwoven copper
wires. The thousands of copper wires are coated so it will
remain a reflective copper surface. The existing lighting will
illuminate the work dramatically at night while daytime
ambient lighting will showcase the added copper elements.

The additional copper pieces would have a verdigris patina.

This concept can be approached as a diptych or as a single
work, depending on size.

Proposal A: 6’h x 5’wide
Proposal B: 5’h x 5’w
Proposal C: 5’h x 4’w

Presenting two options….the addition of copper pieces to the
top surface. The addition of these copper elements would be
the most dense at the bottom and gently decreasing in
density towards the top. (sample above does not show that progression)

Option A: custom fabricated square copper tubes with
verdigris patina
Example of work with custom square tubing:

Option B: round copper arcs cut in to varying lengths (3”-6”)
with verdigris patina
Example of work with round hollow arcs:

Proposal B: entry wall

Two separate pieces, each measuring 2’x2’ square. Two
layers steel grid interwoven with copper wire. In the center
of each is a square with the addition of shells to refer to the
beach atmosphere.

Example of shells:

Example of 2’x2’ works that have a center insert.
This work has blue discs (left side) and blue wrapped
wooden pieces (rightside)

Proposal C for 2 bedrooms
As the larger copper constructions extend dimensionally in to
the room approximately 5”, the copper work is not
recommended for the bedrooms, as the rooms are smaller.
Instead, suggesting three framed encaustic paintings with
copper leaf. The copper leaf relating to the other copper pieces
in the bungalow, yet sufficiently narrow on the wall to allow
safe passage through the room.

This series can be separated using two in the larger bedroom
and one in the smaller.

All of these concepts are presented as a starting point. Size
and options can be determined after consideration and
conversations. underCURRENT and chasingSHADOWS are in
the studio, the other pieces would be a commission. There are
also a few pieces in the studio that I can recommend,
depending on timing and budget.

chasingSHADOWS: steel + copper wire/encaustic painting
with copper leaf: 41” x 41”

Thank you for the opportunity to present my work for
