OUR SCHOOL OF MANY COLORS

We are a regional school enriched by our feeder
parishes and communities. Our College celebrates our
rich diversity and the unity that comes from our shared
mission of faith and commitment to Catholic
Education.
Many of our current feeder schools were founded and
staffed by the Sisters of the Good Samaritan:

• St Gabriel’s 1930
• St Peter’s 1934
• Holy Name 1954
• St Stephen’s 1958
• St Luke’s 1961

OUR SCHOOL
OF MANY
COLORS

Parable of the Good Samaritan All are one in Christ

Luke 10:25-37 Galatians 3:28

“Whoever is not against us is for us” The Great Commandment

Mark 9:38-41  Matthew 22:34-40

We are many parts of one body “I pray they may all be one.”
1 Corinthians 12:12-14  John 17:21

WE ARE A CATHOLIC SCHOOL

• “Christ is the foundation of the whole educational enterprise in a

Catholic school. The fact that in their own individual ways all members

of the school community share this Christian vision, makes the school

“Catholic”; principles of the Gospel in this manner become the

educational norms since the school then has them as its internal

motivation and final goal” (The Catholic School, 1977, n.34).

WE ARE PEOPLE OF THE GOSPEL

‘Your way of acting should be different from the
world’s way; the love of Christ must come before all
else.’ Rule of Benedict 4:20-24

WE WERE FOUNDED IN THE GOOD
SAMARITAN TRADITION

WE ARE INSPIRED BY SAINT
MONICA

WE ARE CALLED TO PRAY AND
PERSEVERE

“But the one who endures to
the end will be saved.”

Matthew 10:22

Prayer

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Lord God, we give You thanks for manifesting Your Glory
through the richness of cultures and backgrounds in our parish
communities. We pray that the students whom we serve may
always feel a sense of pride in belonging to both a school of
many colours and a Church of many colours. With Your help,
may every Monican recognise Your presence alive and active in
the heart of our community of faith. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
