Of course, Disney resorts and most hotel/motel rooms will provide shampoo, cream rinse, soap and a blow-dryer for your hair. Most of them will also provide you with an iron and ironing board if you want to touch up your clothes. And, of course, you’ll have pillows and clean sheets! The packing lists mention these items for those who require their own sham- poo, cream rinse, soap and blow-dryers. Sometimes the pillows you get in a hotel are nearly impossible to sleep with. You can always pick up the phone and call the front desk, ask for housekeeping and request a fluffier or a flatter pillow. It works at some hotels, but not at all. Its worth a try, however, rather than being up all night.
We often take our own Tylenol PMs since we have found from time to time that something keeps us up at night. Also, if you pull a muscle during the day, the night-time pain relief is nice to have on hand.
Lounge-wear is nice to have on hand when you’re sitting around at night playing cards. And having your own alarm clock is not a bad idea if you think you’ll have difficulty figuring out the one that’s provided in the room.
Of course, you don’t ever have to dress up for anything at Disney - but, you might want to. The dress-up clothes are for those who may be attending a wedding while there or who want to dress up a bit for a special night out at Downtown Disney. However, none of the Disney restaurants require a jacket and tie or a dress and heels for dinner.
Athletic wear is good to have if you want to use the jogging path around the resort before you go off for the day. Naturally, you’ll get plenty of walking during each day at the park, but that may not be enough for you if you’re a runner or weight lifter who wants to maintain your routine while you’re gone.
Don’t forget to pack some creature comforts for the plane, especially for the kids. A back- pack for each child with some special plane activities is often a great treat to look forward to. Not all planes offer movies and not all movies are ones you’ll want your kids to see. For you, a new book or magazine or some handwork can be a great way to pass the time, especially if your flight is long. And throw in some chewing gum so you can open your ears once you’re in flight and as you descend.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this book on Navigating Disney. Its a big place, but with a little help, you can make it around in no time flat. You can buy this book from the Apple Store, Amazon and at navigatingdisney.com. Thank you for reading and I hope you have the best Disney va- cation ever.
