Remember Your Vacation?

Randy Alcorn The week before you go on vacation is a great week. Two things stand out.
The first is that during this week, you are looking forward to the break and
are filled with anticipation. That enables you to get through anything the
week may throw at you because you know relief is near. You have joy inside.
The second thing that stands out is that you try to get everything done that
needs to be done before you leave. You don’t want any loose ends.

Heaven is like that. If we really understood what heaven is like, we’d feel
the same way we feel about vacation. It would change the way we face
the events of each day. Relief is near. We have a better attitude toward
everything that happens. But we also would work with greater focus to do
all that we would want done before we go. It would change our work, our
relationships, and our attitudes.

What is heaven like? What will we be doing there? Is it just one big worship
service in the clouds with harps and angels? No! Take the best this earth has
to offer and multiply it infinitely. That’s heaven.

For the details, come to a study offered by Sage Builders. It’s open to anyone
of any age. It’s not too late to join in on the study. We meet at 12:30 p.m. in
the Fellowship Center. We have lunch together. Suggested donation is $5.00.
We then we go into our study with a 15-minute video. Finally, we’ll break
into small groups for discussion and end by 2:30.

So, plan on joining us for this encouraging, life-changing study on October
12, 19, 26; Nov. 9, and 16. Register at www.myfac.org/events. If you have
questions or would like more information, contact Pastor Glenn Kantner,

GOD @ WORK...

In the Life of Cliff and Wendi Jones

leading from the front

If it’s true that God works all things together for the good of those who are
called according to His purposes (Rom 8:28), then you need look no further for
proof than Cliff and Wendi Jones.

Through God’s power and grace, Cliff and Wendi are turning their own pain
and heartaches with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and infertility into
powerful ministries to help others overcome the same kinds of tragedies.

“We’ve experienced some of the most heart-wrenching difficulties possible,
ones we never imagined would be part of our story, yet they are,” says Cliff,
a U.S. Army Reservist who serves as Chaplain at the federal prison located
at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. “We figured we’d have a house full of
children; I’d have a 20-plus-year career in the military; and we would live the
American Dream. Were we wrong, and yet are we ever thankful that God’s
ways are not our ways.”

Cliff and Wendi, who live in Southampton, have been attending FAC for the
past three and a half years. Cliff serves on the FAC usher and safety ministries;
Wendi in the nursery ministry. They are also both active in the men’s and
women’s ministries, as well as in a miniChurch.

Although he grew up as a “preacher’s kid” who was in church three times
a week and “knew how to play the game of being a Christian,” Cliff says,
