编者的话

欣欣信箱是美国欣欣教育基金会青年部的初高中生和中国欣欣小学的学生之 间的通
信交流活动。2017年三月开展至今，成百上千封的通信雪片似地 飞到了青年部的公共信箱
中。中美两国笔友就广泛的 话题进行了生动而多层次地交流。孩子 们写得情真意切，他 们各
自介绍了自己的学校，老 师，课程，课外活动等等。通过通信彼此了解到中美教育的很多不
同之处，学生们的生活是非常忙碌的，但也丰富多彩。

远隔重洋的中美两国学生通 过电子邮件拉近了彼此的距离，成 为了无话不谈的朋友。
他们谈到了节日，养宠物，玩游戏，旅游等，话题已经跨越到了世界范 围。这一对对笔友就
是中美友谊的一对对使者，将架起 连接大洋两岸的和平繁荣之 桥。

中美两国的同学通 过中英双语的交流方式，既提高了外 语水平也同时锻炼了各自的
写作能力。看着他 们刚通信时那简短的问候，到后来的侃侃而 谈，为他们的成长和进步由衷
地高兴。本杂志也收录了美国的大哥哥 辅导中国的小弟弟学 习英语的感人对话，为孩子们
那颗金子般的心感 动。我们的信箱杂志就是想记录下这些珍贵的资料，为孩子们的成长留
下美好的回 忆和见证。

欣欣信箱 项目的顺利进行，既要感 谢双方同学的 积极参与， 还要感谢中国学校的支持
和美方信箱管理 团队的付出，使通信交流能健康有序地 顺利进行。双方同学在彼此交流中

A Letter From the Editor

In March of 2017, the Shin Shin Youth Mailbox Program began as a project allowing
students from the United States to communicate with those in China and become more
proficient in both the Chinese and English language. Now, through the half year that this
program has been in place, it has become much more.

These students have discussed a wide range of topics, from everyday things like
school life and extracurriculars to more uncommon topics like raising pets and celebrating
holidays. Through this communication and discussion, each pair of pen pals has not only
learned about each other but also gained further insight of what life is like on the opposite
side of the world.

We’ve seen the students go through tremendous growth. At a surface level, they
have helped each other improve their language skills and can now interact with each
other more easily. But on a more personal level, these students are becoming more
accepting of others: through these interactions, they’ve learned to look past differences
on the surface and appreciate the value that others have.

This program is only a small first step to building the world we would like to live in.
In the future, we hope that these students and many more will take the lessons they’ve
learned and apply them to their own lives. Children have the power to shape the future,
and we trust that they will make the right choices. - Cindy Wang

复活节本是一个基督教的 节日。不论是中国的孩子 还是美国的孩子都 爱在这一天
做彩蛋，吃藏在蛋里的糖果。不 过当他们渐渐长大，这天也会选择一些其它的活 动

一点冷这两天我们在学操，很累，有一次我和同学 说，再这样鞋底都磨破了。我 们这里有
很多的车，楼也很多，能玩的地方特 别少，只有奥体公园，南湖很好玩。我 们刚刚放学。我

Hello, 家祺, 谢谢你的回信！我在 Cupertino 城市 Kennedy 中学上八年级。我明年就上高
中了，要上4年。我长大想用coding 给人们设计方便一点的生活。我 还想自己写几本 书。这
里到处都是树，草地，还有许多公园。因为 Cupertino 位于Silicon Valley (硅谷），这里有很
多大科技公司，其中有 Apple, Samsung, Google,Yahoo, Facebook... 我们这里的孩子有
一点spoiled, 几乎都能得到想要的 东西。几乎每个孩子都能在学校拿到很好的成 绩。上完
学 （8:16 am 到 2:48 pm)就去参加自己的个人活 动，有游泳课，画画课，西班牙语课，计算
机课，武术课等等。还好我们没有特别多的作业，但是我朋友 说在高中就会有很多的作 业
了！我现在要上二胡课了。再见！Andie :)

你好 ！谢谢你给回信。这里上初中就已 经很忙了，已经没有时间上自己感兴趣的活动了。
听你这么说你们那里真的好有趣！你比我大二年，但我 认为你比我们上学还要轻松。我们
的科学老师带我们去了科学实验室，那里非常有趣，我 们使用显微镜看洋葱表皮， 结果我
们看见了洋葱表皮上的 细胞。你们那里有很多 树，空气一定会很好， 这里只有一个公园和
南湖，南湖里一到夏天就会有很多荷花，在冬天那里可以滑冰，有人穿着溜冰鞋，就像燕
子一样特别快，我可羡慕了。你 们的生活真的好随意呀！我好羡慕你呀。
你想要自己写 书，你一定会出版自己的 书的，加油！你是我的第一个笔友，我真的很高 兴
认识你，你的邮箱是我们英语老师给我的。其实这是老师组织的活动，我们班里除了我 还
有两名同学参加 这个活动，我本来只是想加 强社交能力，没想到会 认识你，我很高兴。现

我昨天看了一 场电影Beauty and​ the Beast。里面的主演是 Emma Watson。拍的没有我想

象的好，还演了2小时。看完电影我赶快回家复 习中文。今天早晨我有个中文考 试，我觉得

考的还不错。 刚才去看牙医，我不喜 欢去看牙。

你的学校是什么 样子？我的学校不大，没有二楼。我每年 换课程表，一年有 6-7个老师。我

高中报的课是：化学，体育，代数 2，java编程，文学，汉语​ （Che​ mistry, Physical Education,

Algebra 2, Java Programming, English Literature, Chinese.) 每一个课是50多分钟。我有

会一点溜冰，可是 还不会做特技滑，只能象跑步似的 简单地滑。

​哈哈，我也很高 兴会认识你，可能以后我 们还会见面呢！那我肯定会很激 动地。你听音乐

吗？你最喜欢什么歌？你会玩 乐器么？我很喜 欢拉二胡，二胡曲 调特别好听！我以前在

家祺Hello，我刚从加拿大回来，太好玩了。我 们去了Banff National Park 和 Jasper National
Park。Banff有一个gondola，可以坐上上山，山非常高，上升的 时候我吓的叫喊了起来，也有
好多台阶，可以走到最上面， 风景非常美。我的爸爸告 诉我，我很小的 时候来过Banff，可是
我记不住了。。。我 们晚上还在Banff城市逛了逛，那里的冰激凌真好吃！我 们去Jasper有一
个Glacier walk活动，在glacier上面走。那里的冰和水已有好几千年了。 那里很冷，风也很
大。我买了一个印有Banff 加拿大的衣服，开 车还看到路边的瀑布。檬玢

你好吗？我挺好的。上个星期六我去了 篮球训练，完了有跟我的朋友 们一块儿打了一会儿
篮球。我也跟他 们玩儿了 Magic：the Gathering （是万智牌，不是玩 纸牌，）还有跟他们一块
儿看电视。
我也喜欢读书。我很高兴听说你长大了以后想要当一名作家。你喜 欢写什么样的东西啊？
我可以给你看一些我写的故事 ...... 你喜欢玩那种卡片？你会不会 弹乐器? 你要是不擅长
体育也没事，只要你努力的追求你想要做作家的希望。
你走路去上学是一个挺好的事，尤其因 为你不擅长体育。 这就可以当你的运 动了。:) 要是
我有时间的话，那我也会想要走路上学，甚至都跑步去上学当我的 长跑联系。:) 可是那样
子我就会得要很早起床才可以准 时到学校，因为我的学校里我的家差不多五公里 远。你的

Hi Allen,
How are you? I'm doing fine. Last Saturday I went to basketball practice and played
basketball after practice with my friends. I also played Magic: The Gathering with them
and watched TV with them.
I like to read books too. I'm glad to hear that you want to be a writer when you grow up.
What do you like to write about? I can show you some of my stories... What kind of card
do you play? Do you play any instruments? It's ok if you are not good at sports, but keep
persuing your goal of becoming a writer!
Going to school by foot is good, especially if you don't do many sports. It keeps you
healthy. If I had time, I would probably walk to school, or maybe even run to school as
my Cross Country training. :) But then I would have to get up pretty early, since my
school is almost 3 miles away, as I mentioned in my last letter.

In my old school , A lot of students didn't like me , because they think my mother is a

hunt,what do you do totay?I'm go to a party,we want to make eggs,so we are cooked
again and make it,why are we cooked it？because my the banquet host tell us:"The
eggs are broken. it's not cleaned,so you must to take the cooked eggs for the party."We
had to do what he said.I make a red,have some "back stars" eggs, feel good about
myself ,my friends is eat them,but I can't eat them,because I have a discerning urticaria,I
can't eat fish,pepper and eggs,oh,is so uncomfortable!

Wow! Your Easter sounded so fun! I went to Winchester's house. It is a house that was

built by a woman who's husband and children all died, so she believed herself to be

haunted by spirits. Her name was Sarah Winchester and she was super rich, she had $20

million dollars!!! It was a really weird house, hahah. For some reason, she build random

doors and cabinets everywhere. Some of them didn't even have anything behind them,

just a wall. In fact there was a door that led straight to a 8 feet hole! Also, she built all

these random pillars that were UPSIDE DOWN. Maybe if you came to America some day

I can show you the place. I hope your discerning urticaria gets better!

I read about the activities you do, and I do some of the same things! I know how to
play an instrument, the flute. I noticed that your PE teacher has taught you how to do

In the United States we celebrate many holidays, as I'm sure you do in China. Some of
the more widely celebrated holidays include Halloween, Christmas, New Year's,
Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving, Independence Day, and Easter. Halloween is celebrated
on October 31st (the last day of October), and on that day children dress up in costumes
and go trick-or-treating at night. The term "Christmas" is generally used to represent the
first day of Christmas (Christmas Day), or December 25th, but there are actually twelve
days of Christmas, from December 25th to January fifth. It is a Christian holiday
celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, and many families hold feasts, put up decorations,
and give gifts on Christmas Day. New Year's Day is the first day of the year in the
Gregorian calendar, January first. New Year's Eve is the night before New Year's Day.
Valentine's Day is celebrated on February 14th as a day to express each other's love for
each other, and on that day children give cards and candies to each other. Thanksgiving
is the fourth Thursday of November, when Americans remember the first autumn harvest
the pilgrims went through in America. Families hold feasts of turkey, cranberry sauce, and
other foods that the pilgrims ate. Independence Day is the day that America gained
independence from Britain in 1776. Americans have parties with the colors red, white,
and blue during the day, and during the night they have fireworks displays. Easter is the
most important holiday of the Christian Church, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus
Christ. It is usually the first Sunday after the first Full Moon occurring on or after the
vernal equinox. Children look for eggs with chocolate in them that were hidden.

I finally got the time to read your long email. First of all, Children's Day looks very

exciting and fun. Your story was interesting (but since it's still a bit difficult for me to

read Chinese, next time could you send a shorter email each time? haha). You wrote

well! My school never had such a large sports competition before. Secondly, what you

said at the end moved me. I thought, wow, Su Wan is only in sixth grade, but how is

Even though it's already summer vacation, I'm still pretty busy. Once you get to high

school, there's really no way to take a break! Recently, I've been taking a psychology

Yes, I gladly will give you some great books. However, I don't really know if they

have a translation of the book in Chinese, for I read these books in English. Some
include the Ranger's Apprentice series, Harry Potter, and The Secrets of the Immortal
Nicholas Flamel. These books are moderately easy to read, and I think you will enjoy
reading them. However again, I'm not really sure if they have Chinese translations, so if
you have any problems reading in English, try to ask me about the problem and I will
try my best to solve it. You should have a Chinese version of the books just in case
though, if you do not understand a tricky part, just look in the Chinese book for
reference. Good luck in your studies with English!

六一趣事

这次是一个与众不同的六一儿童 节。我们学校举办了运动会，做很早开始，我 们就开始训
练，无论是鼓号 队还是各个 队形，各个班 级，都早已 训练，每个班 级都要准 备一份口号和一
份解说词，我们班的口号是我想出来的，但我写了很多不知道用哪个，所以我 们大家一起定
的。解说词是我同桌写的，鼓号 队排练了很多次，我 们也很排练了很多次，就在六一的前 1
周我们排练了1周，上午排练，下午上课，我和我们班级的同学，一共六个女生，被 选为了举
牌的同学，我是六年 级，却举了一个一年二的牌子，哈哈，一年 级的小孩子真好玩， 虽然有
些淘气，不听 话，但是他们很天真。很可 爱。我们盼了很久才到六一，以前是 举行联欢会，现
在是运动会，六一那天，我 们都穿上了整齐的服装，在这些服装中，我最喜 欢号队的服装和
小军鼓队的服装，他 们的服装是蓝色的非常好看， 举旗的服装也不差，白色的，有点像 军
装。检阅开始了，操场上锣鼓喧天，首先 进入眼帘的是国旗 队，有六位六年 级的同学来守护
，接着是校旗 队，主席，台上正介 绍着一个个队伍的简介，主席台，上也来了很多 领导，队伍
，我们先从六年级开始，因此，我 们一年级是后面的，等我 领着队伍过来的时候已经是倒数
第三个啦，我 们领着队伍，各自到了指定的地点，全 场就位后，主持人介 绍了莅临本次运动
会的领导，接下来是校 长讲话，副校长宣布大会纪律，以及裁判 员代表和运动员代表宣誓，
他们的声音激昂，洋溢着 饱满的感情去迎接本次运 动会，主持人让教育局局长来宣布大会
开始，开始一刹那，我 们六年级把手中的氢气球放飞了，场面很震撼，随着气球 飘上天空，
主持人宣布， 检阅完毕，开始，运动会，请检阅，人员退场，请运动员裁判员，做好准备。我们
六年级有七个项目分别是一百米跑，二百米跑，四百米跑，四乘一百米接力，两人三足，摸
石头过河，毛毛虫比 赛。摸石头过河，两人三足，以及四乘一百米都是考 验队员之间的配合
以及默契，我参加了两 项，一个是四乘一百米，另一个是毛毛虫比 赛，我觉得最有趣的是他
们一、二年级的寻物，六十米障碍，以及穿衣接力。全天一共一百多个 项目，我们坐在凉棚
里观看着比赛，不时喊着加油，在一次教 师比赛中我们的班主任上场了，我们全体学生走出
凉棚，为老师加油。到我们时，我们的第一个项目毛毛虫比 赛，虽然结果不是很尽人意，但
是至少我们努力了，我得了个第四，不管怎么 样，重在参与。下午我 进行的项目是四乘一百
米，这个考验短时间的奔跑爆发能力，以及队员的配合能力， 结果总是那么相似，我 们又得
了个第四，我看到其他运 动员神采飞扬的在跑道上尽情的奔跑，运 动会进行了1天，我们看
了1天的比赛，事后老师问我有什么感想？但我没什么感想，我只想 说，结果不重要，过程
才是最美的，只要你肯努力，相信自己，一定能行，重在参与，友 谊第一，比赛第二。我们六
年级了，这是我们最后一个六一儿童 节。我很珍惜 这天，我很开心。下面是六一那天的照
片。
