Agreeing and Disagreeing

การเขียนคล้อยตามความคิดเห็นหรือประโยคที่พูดมาก่อนนั้นจะแบ่งออกเป็น
2 ประเภท คือ

1.คล้อยตามประโยคที่เป็นบอกเล่า (Agreeing)
โครงสร้างที่สามารถใช้ได้คือ So + กริยาช่วย + ประธาน เช่น

A : I love cooking.
B : So do I. (มีความหมายเหมือนกัน I love cooking,too)
A : I have already finished my homework.
B : So have I. (เหมือนกับ I have finished,too.)
I can drive. — So can I.
I must go now. — So must I.
I am happy today. — So am I.

*สังเกตว่ากริยาช่วยจะไม่ใช้แค่ do อย่างเดียวจะเป็น
is,am,are,war,were,have
has,had,can,could,should,will,would,must,etc, ก็ได้ทั้งนั้นขึ้นอยู่กับ tense
ในประโยคก่อนหน้า

*ประธานก็อาจจะไม่ใช้แค่ I อย่างเดียวจะเปลี่ยนสรรพนามตัวอื่นหรือชื่อคนอื่นๆ
ก็ได้ เช่น

A : you look beautiful today. วันนี้คุณดูสวยจัง
B : So do you. คุณก็ (สวย) เหมือนกัน
A : I have to attend economics class. ฉันต้องเข้าเรียนคาบเศรษฐศาสตร์
B : So does John. จอห์นก็เหมือนกัน
**ถ้าเป็นภาษาพูดก็อาจจะได้ยินบ่อยว่า Me too ซึ่งก็ใช้ได้เหมือนกัน

Agreeing and Disagreeing

2.หลักการใช้การคล้อยตามประโยคแบบปฏิเสธกัน (Disagreeing)
จะเอาคำว่า neither หรือ nor กับ either เข้ามาช่วยโครงสร้างเป็นแบบนี้
Neither/Nor + กริยาช่วย + ประธาน เช่น

A : I don’t understand Chinese. ฉันไม่รู้ภาษาจีน
B : Neither do I. ฉันก็ไม่รู้เหมือนกัน
A : I can’t swim.
B : Nor can I.

*ข้อสังเกตนะคะ หลัง neither จะไม่มีรูปปฏิเสธแต่จะให้ความหมายเป็นปฏิเสธ
สำหรับการใช้ either นั้นจะใช้กับประโยคปฏิเสธ เช่น

A : I don’t understand Chinese.
B : I don’t understand either.
A : I am not happy.
B : I am not happy either.

การคล้อยตามประโยคปฏิเสธแบบนี้ในภาษาพูดก็อาจจะพูดนั้นๆก็ได้ว่า Me
neither เช่น

A : I don’t like coffee.
B : Me neither.
