Concept
Boosting both the Farmer’s Market and
the Searcy community simultaneously, the Farm
to Fork Cook-Off will feature the best homemade
goodies Searcy has to offer—literally.
Theentrieswillnotonlybejudgedaccording
to their taste, appearance and originality, they will
also receive a score for their localness. Contestants

Competition Specifics
Categories:
• Appetizers
• Entrees
• Side Dishes
• Desserts
• Drinks
Entry Process:
Each contestant will fill out a form prior to contest day that includes the
name of his/her dish, the category under which it falls, a brief description, the
dish’s expected yield, and a list of ingredients, denoting which were purchased
from the Searcy Farmer’s Market. These forms will be used not only to calculate
maximum attendance and to arrange set-up, but to aid the judges in determining
each dish’s localness.
Judge Selection:
Three judges will be selected for each category. Judges will consist
primarily of food industry locals, priority given to owners of local eateries. The
judges will not be paid, but each will be announced at the awards ceremony
along with the name of his/her business, and each will receive a free t-shirt.
Judging Process:
Every judge will taste every dish in his/her category. They will
individually grade each entry on a scale of 1-10 on its taste, appearance,
originality and localness; however, localness will be an objective rating. The
judges will have the entry forms with the ingredients listed.
Award Ceremony:
First, second and third place in each category will be announced after
the judges forms have been calculated. First place winners will receive trophies
and a cash prize (donated by a sponsor); second and third place winners will
receive ribbons and, if possible, a smaller cash prize (as donated by sponsors).
