Multiple-tier timelines use two or more rows of events.
While each row represents a different subject, the time
period is the same.

Multiple-tier timelines can be used to help us look at
cause and effect relationships or patterns and themes
among events in a specific period of time.

We will be using a multi-tier timeline to show the rise
and fall of four early civilizations in the Americas: The
Mississippian, Inca, Maya, and Aztec and look for
RELATIONSHIPS between the dates.

The Mississippians people were unique civilization that truly
proved that relationships are powerful. One way that the
Mississippian people powerful kept their civilization alive was
through a strong system of government. The people were led by a
chief whom they called their Sun. The sun chief directly
communicated with the gods and the people listened to him because
of this connection. The society was also arranged in a very
powerful way. They had for classes :the sun, the nobles, the
honored men and women, and the lower classes. The lower classes
had the most important job in terms of keeping the civilization going.
They were the workers. Religion is another powerful thing that the
Mississippians believed in. They believe that snakes had
supernatural powers. They built temples and mounds to worship
and put there poetry in and to honor their gods. As you can see this
fantastic civilization proved that relationships can be powerful.

The Maya

om/mayangods.html

The Mayans had a lot of interesting and unique things compared to us now. The
Mayas had a very purposeful relationships. One way that the Mayans
relationships are purposeful is when the priest talk to the gods. This is so
important because they are getting their words from the gods. Then they do what
the gods want them to do. The Mayans had a government that had certain jobs to
do for the community. The government was very purposeful in all kinds of ways.
The Mayan government had different roles. Like the king, nobles, prest, and also
the mayan people all believed in gods. Hear are some of the government jobs the
Mayans did to keep the society going. This is from greatest power form the least
amount of power. The priest, the mayans believed that the priest could talk to the
gods. The nobles /kings do not work or have to pay taxes but could work if they
wanted to. Now to the merchants and craftsmen they were the people that had a
job and wanted to porsche their job in the city and they enjoyed making art and
artifacts . These people were very hard working people they are called the
peasants a lot of the Mayan people were peasants. If the peasants got captured
they would have to sacrifice their life for the gods. Last are the slaves. The slaves
were in the lower class they were treated sometimes higher than the other groups
unfortunately they had no rights. One why the Mayan people became slaves is if
there parents were slaves. The Mayan people had a society that was kind of all
scared around. Jobs were important in some ways but not all ways. Some of the
Mayans did not work because they did not need to. They did not have to pay
taxes but the people that worked did. That makes the relationships purposeful
because they had to trust the people that worked to get all the money for the
whole society . The mayans also invented some things and traded somethings.
Mayans traded with other mayans because all the cities were Mayans. Mayans
built a lot temples to worship in. Also they invented their own calendar. As you
see the Mayans had a strong government ,and good/clever invensense ,religion
and overall a great Civilization.
