LEADER'S SPEAK

As summer kicks in, this is not only a time of the year when many of us will take Well done!
some well deserved rest. This is also time for IBMers across the globe to focus
on their own careers and have robust, honest and meaningful conversations
about their development.
Let me tell you why I feel very strongly about this. As I reflect on the career
conversations I had during my nearly 20 years at IBM, I realize these have not
been random conversations. They have been important opportunities to step
back, think of next steps, share impressions with my manager and define
together the things I should be focusing on. Considering how busy our day to
day is, opportunities like these should not be given for granted.
Careers are not something individual, there is a joint ownership about them
between managers and employees. That said, as I prepare my very own
conversation with Obed and the conversations I'll have with my direct reports,
I invite you to do the same. Prepare.

Take the time to reflect on your own career, your goals ahead  and what you feel you need to get there
Be ready to be outspoken and have an open discussion so we can work on a plan together

A NEW BEGINNING

So far it has been an amazing journey full of learning and continually

honing my skills. I feel the work environment is centered around

working as a team and the one which allows everyone's talents to

flourish.

The  desire to cultivate our skills and to share our ideas is very

impressive. I find myself in an environment which is both

empowering and positive, with the guidance of my manager as well

Sandhya Ashwath as my peers. I am really excited and am looking forward to the

India Work Permit Team journey which lies ahead of me within IBM.

Global Immigration China (GIC) Overview training audio published on Community & Your

IBM Hyderabad Hosted US Consulate General, Katherine Hadda & team in May. The GI
Team showcased IBM’s focus on Immigration Compliance through its robust internal
process & controls.

European Union: The Council of the European Union has formally adopted amendments
to the Schengen Visa Code, which are expected to improve procedures for travelers to the
Schengen Area in 2020. [2]
Brazil: Nationals of Australia, Canada, Japan and the United States no longer require a visa
to enter Brazil for tourism, business, transit through Brazilian airports, sports activities,
performances or artistic performances. [3]
To continue simplifying the user experience and meeting business requirements, IBM has
chosen EY Consulting LLC (EY) as the new immigration vendor for Egypt and Qatar
Inbound Immigration services for long term work permits only. It will be managed by
Raghavendra Urs.
