ACHIEVEMENT - PAPER BAG
COMPETITION
To encourage a "Sustainable Approach" among students ,"Paper
Bag Competition was conducted by Ambernath Club of Mumbai.
Students took part in the competition with great spirit and zeal.
The main motto of the competition was to spread the message
"Go Plastic Free, Join the Green Side". Avisha Tripathi, Class II A
and Akarshavi Tripathi, Class V B of United World School
participated in the event and made her parents and school proud
by securing First Place for her unique and most attractive paper
bag.

ACHIEVEMENT - ESSAY
COMPETITION
Devansh Pandey, of class III,
brought laurels to school by
winning the first position in the
Essay Competition in “The
Students Premier League” which
was organized by The
Playbook. The topic of the essay
was - What is a Good Friend?
Devansh has won an Amazon
Voucher worth INR 500 and
Playbook Voucher worth 1500
with Merit Certificate. The
School Principal congratulated
the winner and praised the
efforts of the teacher facilitator
responsible for the
accomplishments.

Celebration
VIDYA KA PARV
Classes Montessori - V celebrated
the exuberant occasion of “Vidya
ka Parv".
It is celebrated to mark the first
day of an academic year after the
summer vacations. As a part of
the celebration, the teachers
expounded the meaning and the
significance of the day to the
children and kept the tradition of
inculcating values in today’s
modern times.

DOCTOR'S DAY CELEBRATION
Every year National Doctor's Day is
observed on 1st July to show gratitude
to all those doctors who have selflessly
aided us in our time of need and
tirelessly worked for the health of their
patients. It is a way to acknowledge
the role doctors play in saving
numerous lives.

CHOCOLATE DAY
World Chocolate Day 2021 is observed and celebrated every year on 7 July across the world. This
day is celebrated to pay a tribute to mankind's greatest culinary invention: Chocolate. This day
allows chocolate lovers around the world to indulge in their favourite treat without any guilt.
Students learnt a variety of new and unique recipes. The students learnt about the scientific
benefits of chocolates and how they are rich in antioxidants.

MANGO DAY
Mango is known as the king of fruits and is
loved by all in every corner of the world.
National Mango Day is observed on July 22
to relish this exquisite fruit and keep
mangoes as the focus of the day.
Students of United World School
celebrated Mango Day today and to
everyone's delight, prepared mouth
watering mango dishes be it a smoothie,
rasam, special marwari mango dish and
many more.

INTERNATIONAL TIGER DAY
To promote population of this wild cat and protect the existing one's, International Tiger Day
is celebrated all around the globe on July 29.
To contribute their part in raising awareness to protect Tigers ,students of CMS UWS came
forward with some very informative presentations, creative posters and short speeches.
Students’ active participation clearly reflected their concern for mother nature and its
creation and their voices proved that they are our future global leaders.

WORLD CONSERVATION DAY
The World Nature
Conservation Day is
observed annually on July
28. The occasion aims to
create awareness about
the need to preserve the
environment and natural
resources in order to keep

KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS
"I'm a soldier. I fight where I am told, and I win
where I fight". Kargil Vijay Diwas, a day to
commemorate our soldiers, to pay homage to all
those who lost their lives in Kargil protecting our
nation is celebrated on July 26.
CMS UWS students paid homage to the brave fight
put by our soldiers during Kargil War and to the
one's who died with honour fighting for their
motherland.

EID
"Every year, Muslims celebrate Id - Ul - Zuha
festival to remember the Prophet's loyalty towards
God. And, because of his actions, the festival is
also known as the 'Festival of Sacrifice'.
Bakri Eid was observed in India on July 21 this
year.

WORLD EMOJI DAY
"A Picture is Worth a Thousand
Words” Staying true to that an
emoji has become a unique way
of communication to express an
idea or emotion. July 17th is
recognized as The World Emoji
Day and is celebrated to
promote the use of the various
emojis.
The teachers introduced the day
to the children in Nursery and KG
and did Mirror the Expressions
Activity where the children
copied the various emojis shown.

WORLD JUSTICE DAY
July 17 marks the importance of bringing justice for the victims of war crimes,
crimes against humanity, and genocide.
This day is celebrated because it is necessary to make people aware and
united to support justice and also to promote the rights of the victims
United World School celebrated World Justice Day to make students realise
its importance and how we all together should strive for a better world.
Students enthusiastically participated and came forward with presentations,
posters etc. and vowed to make this planet a crime free zone. It was a small
step from students end to raise awareness on International World Justice

INTERNATIONAL PLASTIC BAG
FREE DAY
United World School celebrated International Plastic Bag free day by making Plastic Alternate Bags. Plastic
pollution is a global catastrophe and sadly it is a man-made one. One can easily link it with the following SDG's.
SDG 3: Good health and well-being, SDG 6: Clean water and sanitation, SDG 11: Sustainable cities and
communities, SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production, SDG 13: Climate action, DG 14: Life below water
(protection of the seas and oceans), SDG 15: Life on land
In order to create an awareness about its devastating effects, the students were given an asynchronous task of
creating PAPER BAGS and were told about the benefits of using plastic alternatives like CLOTH, JUTE or PAPER
BAGS.

WORLD POPULATION DAY
Population Day is observed annually on July 11 every
year to highlight the problems of overpopulation and
raise awareness about the effects of overpopulation on
the environment and development , the students of
UNITED WORLD SCHOOL participated in an
asynchronous task of creating awareness among people
and raising alarms about the after effects if the situation
is not brought under control. Students participated with
great zeal and it was reflected in their posters, collages,
slogan writing, group discussions which they carried out
to highlight this global issue.
The main objective of this task was to make students
understand that "excess of anything is bad" and it
applies to everything including overpopulation.
Overall World Population Day was a learning
experience for the students of United World School.

WORLD PAPER DAY
World Paper Bag Day is celebrated across the globe
on July 12 every year to reaffirm the much-needed
daily use of paper bags over plastic bags, which
apparently came in handy for carrying our groceries
and other stuffs.
United World School which aims at promoting
Sustainable Development Goals and Global
Citizenship Education celebrated World Paper Bag
Day with great passion and ardour. Students of
United World School took the initiative to raise this
issue of global concern through their posters,
slogans, informative videos. Students came forward
as a global citizen thus deeply understanding the
concept of Global Citizenship Education.

Orientations
SIMS PARENT ORIENTATION
SIMS ORIENTATION sessions were conducted from 23rd June to 1st July 21
for classes Montessori to class V. Parents were sent an invite to
attend the session. The sessions were conducted by Ms. Rashmi Thakur,
the IT assistant and was attended by the Principal, the co-ordinator,
class teachers along with the enthusiastic parents.

VIRTUAL PTM
United World School conducted Virtual Parent Teacher Meeting on 10th July 2021.
Education is a shared commitment of the dedicated teachers, motivated students and enthusiastic parents.

Student council is formed in schools to polish the qualities the students already
possess and to inculcate in students the leadership qualities so that they can be the
leaders of tomorrow. With the same aim in mind, students of classes III to V were

ACTIVITIES IN PRE PRIMARY
Montessori children have set an
example of experiential learning
as they made Origami Boats and
floated it in water.
With this activity, they learned
that air flow is important to row
the boat.
Rainy season is all about
thundering clouds, cracking
lightning and the freshness in the
air when it starts to rain.
The Montessori children showed
their creativity as they celebrated
the beauty of Monsoon in their
own special way.
Sorting Activity helps young
learners to observe how things are
alike and different. It also helps to
develop important brain skills that
helps with memory.
