With IDr Hj. Lokman Hakim and IDr Hjh. Rabiatul Adawiyah, the
founder and co-founder of IDW, specifically, when they talked
about their business, there was just tremendous determination.
While they were taking a breather by their backyard balcony,
facing towards the calmness of mother nature, they were
inspired to create an exclusive IDW Design Collection.

“We have been in this interior design industry for almost 14
years, I think it is the perfect time to publish a book, but not
about us, it will be about our company and the people who
had worked hard in building together IDW until we become
nationwide famous for our signature, modern and luxury
concept,” said she.

Agreeing with his wife’s suggestion, Lokman further added
“It will be better if we present something valuable that others
will find it very helpful, not only for the present but for their
future home planning, what do you think of that?”. After a long
discussion, they had come to a conclusion to help millions of
property owners to plan beforehand for their desired home
concept, show contractors in understanding proper building
management for great impact, and encourage students who are
interested in interior design fields or architecture in visioning
their ideas.

For those who knew the lovely interior designer couple named IDr Hj. Lokman attention focus shifted to
Hakim Ahmad Subki, 35, and IDr Hjh. Rabiatul Adawiyah Rasol, 35, you would
definitely feel proud of their achievements. At such a young age, the interior being a UiTM lecturer which
design industry was not a strange platform for both of them. They were
praised not only for their kindness but also their incredible positive thinking later created undesirable
which stunned the rest, especially their clients.
Lokman Hakim and Rabiatul Adawiyah started building IDW Design & Build Sdn Bhd in business progression. In
2007 when they were both 21 years old after they had completed their Diploma studies
in Interior Designer at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Shah Alam, Selangor. 2012, both of the couples
IDW started their operation at Seksyen 7, Shah Alam when they were offered to design
and build a bungalow which cost RM1.1 million. Reminiscing their career journey, decided to get married, using

Now, they had over 40
employees loyally working
with them, from the interior
design team to the quantity
surveyor team and everyone
in between. Most of their
employees were their former
students when they were still
working as a lecturer.

They further strengthen
the company’s credibility by
legally registering with the
Malaysian Society of Interior
Design (MSID), Malaysian
Institute of Interior Design
(MIID), and Lembaga Arkitek
Malaysia (LAM), crediting
them as a professional
interior designer.
