Finance at a EBITDA
Glance
• November EBITDA was $587K which was $61K higher than
budget and $349K higher than prior year

o Favorable EBITDA performance is primarily driven by
improved case mix and strong expense management.

• YTD EBITDA is $3.2M which is $855K less than budget but
$673K higher than prior year.

Net Revenue

• November net revenue was $1.9M which was $100K less
than budget but $321K better than prior year

• Net Rev/Case was $2,407 which was $122 less than budget,
$21 less than prior year but $154 greater than our previous
3 month run rate

o The NR budget shortfall for the month was primarily
driven by an increase in government payors and lower
acuity GI and Pain cases as compared to budget

Volumes & Volume
Expenses
• November volume was 803 cases, 26 cases less than
budget but 100 cases greater than prior year

• YTD volume is 7,724 which is 855 cases less than
budget but 850 cases greater than prior year

Expenses

• November labor was favorable to budget by $36K, or
$27/case

• Drugs and Medical expenses were favorable to
budget by $142K, or $152/case

• Overall expenses were $167K favorable to budget, or
$150/case

Growth Total volume growth year over year through November
2021 is 12%. The following specialties have had the
highest increases:

• Orthopedics +83% (3 new Physicians YTD accounting
for 227 incremental cases along with organic growth)

• Pain Management +30% (welcomed 11 new pain
management physicians this year accounting for 90
incremental cases

• Ophthalmology +8% (continued recovery from
Covid)

• GI +7% (continued recovery from Covid)

• Podiatry +4% (continued recovery from Covid)

Q3 Vitals • Patient Experience: 97.4% Overall Score through
October 2021 on a goal of 96.26

• Falls with harm: 0
• Return to ED / Urgent Care: 5 YTD on a target of 6

Center • DUSC is ready and available to accommodate any
Updates last-minute patients trying to schedule before the

• OR 5 is now open as of 12/14/21, allowing for a total
of 8 Operating Rooms increasing available capacity

• 16 new physicians have joined DUSC YTD through
November 2021, accounting for 325 incremental
cases

• We welcomed both Dr. Ranganathan Govindaraj (Pain
Management) and Dr. Herbert Watkins (Urology)
who both performed their first case in the month of
November

• Administrator Candidates: We had an on-site
interview Thursday, December 16, 2021. Working on
next steps with hopes of having an offer out early
January
