The mission of The Willow School is to provide a highly engaging education that prepares
socially responsible lifelong learners empowered to realize their full potential.
We believe that a quality education awakens the natural curiosity of children, and their desire to
understand and master their environment while also taking into account their varying interests,
learning styles, and progress rates. We combine scientifically proven best practices in teaching
with a culture that is nurturing, hands-on and personalized to the individual needs of each
student. As a result, Willow students excel academically and graduate well-prepared for the
challenges of high school, college and the work place.
“When I drop my child off at The Willow School in the morning I know he is in a safe, loving and
supportive environment where he is academically challenged to excel according to his own
capacity.” –Sharon Seldner
Academic Approach
The Willow accredited curriculum is designed to hone children’s academic skills by engaging them in learning through
experiential activities. Your child may, for example, delve deeply into a unit on butterflies or ancient Greece, first studying
the content in depth, then leading his or her own mastery through a self-designed or group project. Finally, children
participate in a classroom presentation where they share their newly acquired knowledge with their classmates.
This approach helps every child become an avid reader, writer, public speaker, scientist and mathematician. It also helps
students understand their own learning process – an invaluable skill that contributes to a love of education and ensures
their success in later years.
Willow’s accredited Curriculum
The Willow School’s highly acclaimed academic program has been developed by expert educators and is aligned with
National Core Curriculum Standards and Partnership for 21st Century Skills. We encourage you to investigate both of these
educational frameworks further, and will be happy to provide you with more information.
“Because of the Willow School, I feel that I am prepared not only for the rest of high school, but
for college and the rest of my life.” –Sebastian Battle
