All India Political Parties Meet The All India Political Party Meets, typically convened prior to parliamentary sessions or bill introductions, serve as conventions where the diverse political factions of India can come together to reach consensus on matters of national significance. Initially conceived as a platform for uninhibited political discourse and deliberation, filling a void left by the parliamentary limitations, this forum has evolved to offer valuable insights into national issues. The AIPPM committee emulates this reality by simulating the stages of policy formulation and jurisdiction, with delegates representing various Indian political party personas. Representatives in this committee are expected to be well-versed in their party's ideology, manifesto, and beliefs, enabling them to navigate the complex processes involved in policymaking and governance in India. Through this experiential learning, delegates gain a nuanced understanding of the challenges and obstacles faced by political parties in contemporary times. AGENDA 8 Strengthening Federalism in India: Balancing State Autonomy with National Unity.
United Nations Commission on the Status of Women The UNCSW committee addresses a wide range of issues related to gender equality, including but not limited to access to education, healthcare, economic opportunities, political participation, and the eradication of gender-based violence. Delegates in the UNCSW committee work together to draft resolutions and policies aimed at promoting gender equality and advancing the status of women worldwide. Discussions within the committee often delve into the intersectionality of gender with other factors such as race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, and age, recognizing the complexity of addressing gender disparities. Through engaging in debates, negotiations, and collaborative efforts, delegates in the UNCSW committee gain a deeper understanding of the challenges women face globally and work towards finding sustainable solutions to address these issues. The UNCSW committee in MUN serves as a platform for raising awareness, fostering dialogue, and advocating for meaningful action to achieve gender equality and empower women and girls everywhere. AGENDA Reimagining Masculinity and Challenging Stereotypes with Special Emphasis on Advancing Gender Equality. 9
G-20 The Group of Twenty (G20) is a leading forum for international economic cooperation, bringing together the world's major economies to address pressing global economic challenges. Established in 1999, the G20 consists of 19 countries and the European Union, representing both developed and emerging economies. The primary focus of the G20 is to promote global economic stability, sustainable growth, and financial regulation. The forum serves as a platform for leaders and policymakers to discuss and coordinate policies on a wide range of issues, including trade, finance, investment, and development. One of the key features of the G20 is its informal nature, allowing for open and candid discussions among member countries. Additionally, the G20 operates on a consensus basis, meaning that decisions are made only when all members agree. In addition to its economic agenda, the G20 also addresses other global challenges such as climate change, digitalization, and pandemic response. The G20 summit, held annually, provides an opportunity for leaders to come together and discuss these issues, with the aim of finding common ground and collective solutions. AGENDA Deliberation on Tackling Global Economic Disparity: Strategies for Sustainable Development and Equity. 10
United Nations General Assembly The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) is one of the six principal organs of the United Nations and serves as a forum for all 193 member states to come together to discuss and address a wide range of international issues. Established in 1945, the UNGA is headquartered in New York City and holds annual sessions that typically run from September to December. The UNGA operates on the principle of sovereign equality, where each member state, regardless of size or power, has one vote. Resolutions are adopted by a two-thirds majority, except for procedural matters, which require a simple majority. The annual session of the UNGA includes a general debate, during which heads of state or government, as well as high-level representatives, address the assembly. Additionally, various committees and subsidiary bodies of the UNGA meet throughout the year to address specific issues in more detail. AGENDA Discussion on the Modern Use of Artificial Intelligence in Weaponry, with special emphasis on the Israel-Palestine Conflict. 11
International Press International Press Corps or International Press Committee simulates the work of journalists, reporters, and media organizations covering the proceedings of the conference. The IP committee plays a crucial role in providing coverage and analysis of the debates, resolutions, and events occurring within the simulated UN committees. Delegates in the committee act as journalists representing various media outlets and engage in activities such as writing articles, conducting interviews, and publishing news reports. Through their coverage, the IP committee contributes to the overall atmosphere of the MUN conference, providing insights, perspectives, and critiques of the diplomatic proceedings. Additionally, the IP committee fosters communication and collaboration among delegates, promoting dialogue and exchange of ideas. AGENDA Journalism, Photography & Caricature 12
Economic And Social Council The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) stands as a cornerstone among the principal organs of the United Nations, established concomitantly with the UN General Assembly and the Security Council in 1945. Comprising 54 member states elected by the UN General Assembly for three-year tenures, ECOSOC convenes annually in both Geneva and New York to deliberate on substantive matters and adopt resolutions and decisions. Additionally, ECOSOC maintains a network of functional commissions, expert bodies, and subsidiary organs dedicated to specific thematic areas such as sustainable development, population, and social development. 13 Deliberation on The Effectiveness of Microfinance in Poverty Alleviation.
