M D P S . J ,
We are thinking and planning of our coming holidays and somehow, we are
excited about the impera ves of celebra ng! I am afraid that we may lose the
focus of this me to prepare ourselves for the coming of Christ in this pandem-
ic and post hurricane IDA. Over the last couple of years, we are all taken to
tasks of real life vs pseudo life – of materialism and emp ness. The following
things are important for your considera on 1. People who ma er to you and
under your care. 2. Flee ng of our me (temporal). How do we spend our
me? How much me do we give for self-reflec on and our des ny? 3. How
do we contain our heart? 4. Do we sa sfy our heart and soul? Do we all listen to our family and pay a en on to them?
The scripture says at the end of the world, all the lights go out completely. The results is only darkness and formless
ma er. Dust from which we all came and where we will return; from dust to dust! The Lord will raise us up from the
dust to a new life for which He offered His life for us. What are we doing? Anything substan al to our vision and des -
ny? I end this reflec on with this – words from the Holy Book. What if a man gains the world and loses his soul? Put
into these words prac cal applica on! Take me to visit the Eucharist and spend me in Adora on. Help the needy at
our door, opening our compassionate heart to the vulnerable and weak in the society.
May the Lord bless you and keep you safe. Happy Thanksgiving to each and every one of you. I will pray for you. Please
pray for me.
Lovingly, Fr. Amal

"Then you are a king?" Jesus an- ment, injus ce, confusion, and all of life’s ugliness do not make faith irrelevant or
swered, "You say I am a king.” irra onal? God is wonderfully and surprising crea ve! He turns the tables on not
(Jn 18:37) only our understanding of life, but of what it means to be a king. God sends us a
king who is not exempt from life’s ills but embraces them. The king that God gives
to us knows what it means to be poor, suffer insults, be ridiculed, face rejec on,
endure suffering, be betrayed, and face a most unjust and horrific death. This is our
king. Jesus is not a king of pres ge or grandeur but a king who brings light to dark-
ness, hope to despair, sinners to mercy, and new life out of death. Christ dances
before us pleading with us to hold on, cling to love, avoid being nega ve, stop feel-
ing cheated, and be strong in faith! There may be hardship and disappointment
now but there are more surprises to come.
Once we understand this truth, we will also understand that we are on a most in-
credible and awesome universal journey to Christ and becoming one in Christ. We
all carry within us the image of God, the image of our suffering king. The One who
lives in us also lives in all of our brothers and sisters. Failing to see this universal
Divine Presence in all is one of the greatest mistakes we can make, for we also fail
to see God, our king, as well. There are many things that can bring hardship to life.
If we keep our head about us and do not lose hope, we can persevere and strive
for the greatest degree of jus ce possible. Even though there are ample things that
can challenge our faith, we also know that our deepest joy comes from union with
God and our brothers and sisters. One day, the fullness of that joy will be ours to
have when we are all eternally one with Christ our King forever. ©LPi

A monetary giŌ is a service of love, not a contribuƟon. Love should be our moƟve and a dependence on Divine Provi-
dence part of our giŌ. This dispels arrogance on the part of those who can give or resentment on the part of those who
must receive. Both are where they are to glorify God—one by giving, another by receiving. —Mother Teresa

Good and faithful God, you have given us so many people in our lives that have given us joy and solace. On this day
we ask you to remember our dearly departed, especially those above. Keep them close to you as we all wait for that
day when we all will come and worship in your presence. We ask this through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
We are soliciting people to honor their beloved departed by placing their name in this section. These spaces will remind others to
pray for your loved ones as we pray for them. Space is available for 1 year and masses will be said in their honor monthly. There
is an offering amount of $100.00 per year.
