11 Project Being physically active is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle. This is why many institutions and organizations create programs to motivate people to stay fit and do some exercise. When you scan the QR code, you will be taken to a video that shows you a campaign developed in France whose objective was to encourage people to exercise more and have fun at the same time. In teams of four, design a campaign that will accomplish the same objective of motivating people in your community to be more physically active through a fun and engaging activity. Describe what the campaign will be about, how you will promote it, to which target population it will be aimed, what your main goal will be, etc. Prepare a presentation. You can use PowerPoint, Prezi, Adobe Spark or any program that you like. You have to hand in a written document in which you explain your campaign, along with your presentation. Make sure you cover all the points that will be evaluated. Make them move! Project Rubric Description of the project: ____________________________________________________________ Team members: ____________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________________ Final Result ______/_______ points Date: _____________________ Teacher: __________________________ _____________________________ Criteria Very Good 3 points Good 2 points Needs Improvement 1 point The content required was fulfilled according to the instructions. We also use the Zero Conditional to talk about causes and consequences, or to give advice based on a certain condition. · If I don't sleep well, I get a headache. · If you feel sick, go to see a doctor. Notes: · We often use When instead of If: When I get up late, I miss the bus. · When the result clause goes before the if clause, we do not use a comma to separate the two clauses. a) visit your doctor. b) you get digestive problems. c) don't eat sugar. d) visit a nutritionist. e) you usually get a headache. Read the text as you listen to it. Then, complete the chart. (Track 11) LISTENING Complete the chart with information from the article you've just read. Food is really important in our lives, after all, it’s the fuel of our body. It's important for people to eat as much as they need to give them energy. The problem is when we eat more of what we really need according to our lifestyle. If we eat too little food or the wrong food we don't have enough energy. If we eat much more of what we need, we gain weight. When we eat the correct quantity and quality of food according to our daily activities, that is what we call energy balance. Fat, for example, has a lot of calories. That’s why we shouldn’t eat too much butter, bacon, or any kind of oil. Experts say that if we eat too much fat, we can get a heart disease. Sugar is another thing that isn't good for the energy balance. Sugar has no nutrients, it only gives us energy. But, if we eat too much, we can have some serious health problems, such as diabetes. Too much sugar is not good for our teeth either. Try to avoid candy bars, ice-cream, sodas, and all those sugary treats. Fiber, on the other hand, is something that we can eat in big amounts. We can find fiber in fruits, vegetables, and grains. If we eat enough fiber, our digestive system works much better. Milk and dairy foods, such as cheese and yogurt, are good sources of protein. They also contain calcium, which helps keep our bones and teeth healthy. Proteins are essential for our bodies to grow and repair itself. Meat, fish, eggs, nuts and legumes are also great sources of protein. We must keep in mind that if we eat what our body needs, it stays healthy and we feel much better. This is due to the time they spend using their smartphones and other mobile devices every day. After doing homework, the activity that consumes more hours of the youngsters’ afternoons is “screen time”, which involves watching movies or TV shows, playing video games, and using social media. Interacting with other teens is less common nowadays. Practicing organized sports or hanging out with friends is no longer as popular as it used to be. That’s why teens are feeling more isolated than ever. Go Offline! The popularity of meeting people websites and apps over the past few years has increased the danger that people, especially the young ones, will fall victim to an online predator. Getting to know someone online, without nonverbal cues or being able to see them, can be risky. That is why you should keep full names, birthdates, addresses and other personal information private until you know and trust the people you're talking to. If you decide to meet with someone you met online, try not to go by yourself, keep your cell phone on all the time, and, if possible, share your location with someone you trust until the date is over.
