Principal’s Message

It gives me great pleasure to introduce the fourth edition of COMMERCIA-
The newsletter of the Commerce Society. It is in keeping with the season
of spring ask the harbinger of hope and energy and reflects the dynamism
and entrepreneurial spirit of the students of the Department of Commerce.
It showcases the various academic and non-academic activities that the
students have been engaged in during the academic year and is a matter
of great pride for the college.

It is the great achievement that students of our college have been
selected for the international project X – Culture- the only college in the
university to have this achievement to its credit. The enthusiasm of
students in trying to learn ‘Beyond the Classroom’ and to incorporate real-
life learning into the academic curriculum is worthy of praise. Their
initiative in different Enactus projects likes -Project Annapurna and Project
ISHTA, etc can never be sidelined.

The editorial team deserves to be appreciated for incorporating innovative
aspects of learning adopted by learned global faculty with practical words
of wisdom from our own alumni. The thought of the letter in various
dimensions of commerce and business is very interesting and informative.

The newsletter is a manifestation of all that the department represents-
excellence, academic rigor and well-rounded perspective on various
aspects of students life.

Once again, I congratulate the Commerce Society for this and wish all
the students the very best in life.

HOD’s Message

It’s a matter of great pride and honor for me to present the fourth issue of
“COMMERCIA”- the newsletter of Commerce Society of Sri Aurobindo College
(Evening). The newsletter provides an insight into the interactive platform sessions held
between the faculty and students on various subjects related to current issues. This
edition is the outcome of the great participation, enthusiasm, and talent of the
Commerce Society.

The Commerce society of Sri Aurobindo College (Evening) has come a long way since
its inception in 2014. I wish to acknowledge the contribution of my predecessors for
making it such a vibrant society. The Society provides a stimulating environment for the
Commerce students of the college.

The Commercia also published its first ever digital weekly newspaper named
“Commfeed”. It was reviewed by most of the students and got so many views, inputs
and is very well appreciated by the teacher and student community along with the
audience. It’s a great beginning to COMMERCIA keeping in pace with the new digital
era.

The Commerce students participated in various projects during this academic year,
namely: Project X-Culture, Enactus Project -Annapurna and ISHTA. The Current issue
of “COMMERCIA” reflects current prevailing financial and economic issues of
international and domestic importance. This edition covers the current issues related to
Startup India, Emerging Trends in business – digital impact on marketing sector, Online
Food Business – how it has made life a simpler and further generation of revenue and
sources of employment creation, Interpersonal the relationship between leaders and
followers - parting of knowledge and skills from our leaders to their followers, Trade
war–effects of economic sanctions by the Superpowers, Pulwama attack and the
economic repercussions on the Indian economy to mention a few.

I would like to thank and congratulate all those who have worked hard to bring together
such an outstanding piece of academic work and wish all the very best to the students
of the Department.

I appreciate the pain and efforts taken by the students who have shown a keen interest
in contributing articles for publication. I would like to thank the Editorial Board Faculty
Members and Editorial Students team for their help and support extended in bringing out
this newsletter on time and hope to see this newsletter is published every year for

American and Chinese businesses and consumers will not be the only ones to pay for this conflict. Japan,
which has plenty of its own disagreements with China, urged a swift resolution to the row for fear of its impact.
The tariff imposed on steel, aluminum, and other products would have a greater effect on some other
countries, including allies such as Canada and South Korea, than China.

WHY COMMFEED? Dr. Namita Rajput

In our busy lifestyles, sometimes we miss vital
news shots which may help us to remain aware of
the daily changes occurring in the contemporary
corporate world. For removal of this hindrance,
Johann Carolus took an imperative step by
introducing the first printed weekly newspaper in
the year 1605 A.D. The newspaper was proved to
be one of the most worthwhile inventions in the
mankind. Henry Ward Beecher has truly said,
“The newspaper is a greater treasure to the
people than uncounted millions of gold.”
Now, in this era of protracted development and
technology, people don't have that much time to
go through such deep and lengthy info in
newspapers, everything needs to be very quick,
precise and crisp and here we got the quick fix to
this problem and to grab this right set of
circumstances - COMMFEED was introduced.

It is a weekly release by our society which
comprises of 5 most vital news headlines of a
week along with a beautiful quote or saying by a
famous personality or businessman. The first
successful edition of Commfeed was launched
on 9th June 2018 and since then we haven't
looked back and are continuously delivering it to
our audiences every Sunday.

SOCIAL MEDIA REACH:

Commfeed is posted on both of our social media
handles i.e. Facebook and Instagram and has
reached more than 40,000 people till now and
still counting. With the immense support of our
followers and supporters, we have succeeded in
attaining the ultimate goal that we planned for
Commfeed. We look forward towards bringing
out more such innovative initiatives to present
the ideas and creativity of our members in the
best possible manner and serve the best to our
audience.
