Welcome to the 27th Annual Wing Ding On behalf of all Club staff, I would like to welcome each participant and their spouse to The Club at SpurWing. We have planned an entertaining event combining golf competitions and social events. The matchplay segment of our tournament is planned for Thursday afternoon, Friday, and Saturday. Once flight winners and runner-ups have been determined at the completion of play on Saturday, pari-mutuel betting on the Saturday afternoon Shoot-Out will begin. The Saturday afternoon event has been structured to create interest for all tournament participants, even those who did not win the match play competition. The final three teams in the Shoot-Out will win significant pay-outs for themselves. We anticipate an exciting few days of golf. Thursday evening there will be dinner followed by a Calcutta to auction off the participating teams. Saturday evening, following the Shoot-Out, there will be an awards presentation and dinner where tournament winners will be recognized. Please reference this booklet throughout the tournament. Casual golf attire is appropriate for all events. Thank you once again for participating in the best member/guest event in the Treasure Valley. We look forward to providing outstanding service for our members and guests. Good luck in the tournament! AdamMartens PGA,DirectorOf Golf

Tournament Format Competition The tournament will be a Four-Ball Match Play Tournament. Two-man teams competing against each other in a better ball match play format for points. Teams will be placed into flights based upon the combined handicaps of the member and his guest. One nine-hole match will be played on Thursday, two on Friday and two on Saturday. Each flight will play four matches on the Championship course and one match on the Challenge course. The five match competition will determine the winner in each flight based upon the total points accumulated in all matches. Flight winners and runners-up will advance to the “Wing Ding Shoot-Out” on Saturday afternoon. Flights Each flight will consist of six teams if the field is divisible by six. If not, cross flight competition and/or other conventions may be utilized to assure that each team will play five matches for point accumulation within each flight. Handicapping Each team’s handicap may have a maximum spread of 6 strokes. If a team’s spread is greater than 6 strokes, the higher of the two will be reduced. Each participant must have a verifiable USGA handicap. All participants will play to their lowest index between March 1 and June 17th of this year. The Professional staff has the authority to adjust any player’s handicap during the event at any time. All nine-hole matches will be played off the lowest handicap player of the foursome, who shall play at scratch. You will receive one-half of the difference of the 18 hole handicaps in each match. For example; If the low handicap player in your match is seven and you are a ten, you would receive one and one-half strokes for the nine hole match, applied to the most difficult holes of the nine to be played. Challenge course handicaps are determined by using the conversion table located on the Challenge scorecard.

Matches Each two-man team will play five, nine-hole matches. Each match will be played for points. All matches are to be played for the full nine-holes. Each hole won is worth a point for the team. Therefore, the last hole of a nine-hole match could have an impact on the final flight standings. This is a nonelimination match play tournament. The team with the most points at the end of the five matches will be the winner of their flight. Each hole is played as better ball competition, so if your score will not count for the hole, please “pick-up” to avoid slow play. Scoring Nine points may be scored for each match as follows: - 1 point for winning a hole - 1/2 point for tied hole - 0 point for lost hole Each team will be assigned an official scorecard for each nine-hole match. Both teams in the foursome should match scorecards and verify the results of each match when the cards are turned in. A total of 6 1/2 points will be the maximum allowable for each match for the winning team. All nine holes must be played but once a team has reached 6 1/2 points they can only stop the other team from winning any points. For example, a team may win the match 6 1/2 to 0 Tiebreakers The flight winner will be the team in each flight that has the most accumulated points after the completion of the five, nine-hole matches. In the event of a tie, the tiebreaker will follow the progression until the tie is broken: 1. Total Points accumulated in the head to head matches. 2. Total points accumulated combined in matches 4 & 5. 3. Total points accumulated in match 3. 4. Total points accumulated in match 2. 5. Coin toss Denison Rule— Notwithstanding the above, if more than two teams tie for 1st place within a flight, all teams tied for first (before applying the tiebreaker rules) will advance to the shoot-out.

Forfeits or Drop Outs After the beginning of Round 1, should either the member or guest have to withdraw from the tournament due to a legitimate medical or personal reason, that member or guest may be replaced by an equivalent player approved by the Professional staff prior to the beginning of the next round. Should a drop out of one team member occur during a tournament round, the remaining team member may continue in the tournament as a one man team for that round. The player may be replaced following the round. If a team drops out completely, remaining matches will be forfeited and the scheduled opponent will play “against par” and be able to earn the maximum of six and one half points on the scorecard. Any team forfeiting a match will not be eligible for prizes. Tee Assignments Players qualifying for the Rule of 75 ( age and handicap must equal at least 75) may choose to play the brown tees. In this instance the match will be handicapped accordingly. All other players will play from the silver tees on the Championship course. On the Challenge course, all players will play from the black tees. Each two-man team will be assigned a starting hole for every nine-hole match. The nine-hole match is to be played on nine continuous holes from the starting hole. After completion of your first nine hole match of the day, your team shall be assigned another starting hole for your match with your next opponent. Golf carts will be issued the first day and all players will remain in the same cart for the duration of the event. Clubs may be kept on the cart overnight each day. Speed of Play In order to accommodate the field, your consideration of other players regarding speed of play is necessary. Please avoid any situation that would delay play within your group. Our goal is a 2 1/2 hour nine-hole round. If you are out of the hole, please “pick up” to speed up play. If you fall behind the group in front of you, your group will be given a single warning to catch up. If the group does not regain position, the group will be asked to skip a hole and the points for that hole will be halved.

Special Hole-in-One Prize During tournament play on Saturday, new vehicles will be awarded for the first hole in one on holes #6 and #15 courtesy of Bronco Motors (Grant Petersen Jr.). Pari-Mutuel Wagering Individual Win, Place, Show (bets by flight number) $5.00 minimum bet and in $5.00 multiples only Pari-mutuel wagering will be available for the Saturday afternoon Wing Ding Shoot-Out. When the flight winners are determined at the conclusion of the Saturday rounds, wagering tickets will be available until the Shoot-Out begins. The flight winners will be posted and bets may be placed as follows: 1. 2. Winning tickets will be redeemed in cash and available on Friday, June 30th. Any ticket not claimed within 60 days will be forfeited and added back to Wing Ding funds. Thursday Four-man Derby We will be hosting a four-man derby style shoot-out after the first round matches. Players will be paired with their four-man Calcutta partners and will play a four-man alternate shot derby. The teams will be divided evenly into four groups. The first group will play holes 8 - 10, the second group will play holes 9 - 11, the third group will play holes 10 - 12 and the fourth group will play holes 11 - 13. From each division the winning team will qualify for the final two holes, Old #17 and #18. The top three teams will receive the following: 1st Place - $300.00 pro shop credit per player & trophy 2nd Place - $150.00 pro shop credit per player 3rd Place - $100.00 pro shop credit per player

Entry in the putting contest is included with each team’s entry. Teams will compete in the putting contest after they complete Match 3 on Friday afternoon. Each team will play alternate shot format. Both players will tee off, then select the best tee shot and alternate in for their score. Winnings will be awarded based on flight groupings. Teams will find scorecards for nine-hole matches on their golf carts each day. Please return the appropriate cards signed and attested to the scoreboard as soon as possible after completing the match. Putting Contest Scorecards Wing Ding Shoot-Out Each flight winner and runner-up will qualify to participate in the Wing Ding Shoot-Out to determine the overall champion and runner-up teams for the tournament. Additionally, we will add a “Lucky Loser” that will be drawn from a raffle to advance to the Shoot-Out. Lucky Loser tickets must be purchased to be eligible for the drawing. Qualifying teams will participate in the head-to-head Shoot-Out playing scotch ball. In scotch ball, the partners will alternate shots with one ball beginning on hole #6. Holes being played in the Shoot-Out will be #6, #14, #15, & #18. Each team may choose which player will hit the tee shot on #6. That same player will also hit the tee shot on #15. The partner will hit the tee shot on #14 and #18. During play of the Shoot-Out, we will eliminate teams in the following manner: Hole #6 - 50% (round down if odd # of teams) Hole #14 - Reduce Field to 5 teams Hole #15 - Reduce Field to 3 Teams If needed on any hole, a chip off will determine the teams to be eliminated. Following alternate shot rules, the player who did not make the final putt on the hole will chip for the team.

The final three teams will advance to hole #18 to determine the Wing Ding Champion. If, after playing #18, any of the final teams are tied for 1st place, hole #18 will be re-played until a winner is determined. Each time hole #18 is replayed, the team must alternate the player teeing off. Due to time constraints, a chip off may be used to determine the winners. In stroke play scotch ball, if the partners play one or more strokes in the incorrect order, such strokes are cancelled and the side is penalized two strokes. A ball is then put into play as near to the spot from which the error was initiated. This must be determined before a stroke has been played from the next tee, or in the case of the last hole , before the side has left the putting green. If this is not done, the side is disqualified. Handicaps for this year’s Shoot-Out will be as follows: Flight 1 - (0.0) Flight 3 - (1.0) Flight 5 - (1.5) Flight 7 - (2.0) Flight 9 - (3.0) Flight 11 - (3.0) Flight 2 - (0.0) Flight 4 - (1.0) Flight 6 - (1.5) Flight 8 - (2.5) Flight 10 - (3.0) Flight 12 - (3.5) Holes will be handicapped as follows: #1 Handicap - Hole #14 #2 Handicap - Hole #6 #3 Handicap - Hole #18 #4 Handicap - Hole #15 During the Shoot-Out, points will be awarded as follows: 1st Place 2nd Place 3rd Place Eliminated on #15 Eliminated on #14 Eliminated on #6 12 Points (Wing Ding Champion) 9 Points (Runner-up on #18) 7 Points (3rd on #18) 4 Points 2 Points 1 Point - - - - - - Changes may be made subject to Professional staff discretion.
