The Beltline

22 MILES OF CONNECTION

To support and fully realize the vision
of 22 miles of a more connected
Atlanta, the Atlanta BeltLine also
supports affordable workforce housing,
economic development, job creation,
public health, streetscapes, public art,
environmental clean-up, and historic
preservation – all with an eye towards
sustainability. Two organizations –
Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. and The Atlanta
BeltLine Partnership – work together
with countless partner organizations
across the city, region, state, and
country to bring the program to life.

The beauty of the Atlanta BeltLine
is that it offers not only modern
conveyances and exciting new
development, but it is a living,
breathing part of our community; not
simply a means of getting somewhere,
but a destination unto itself. It offers a
chance for Atlanta to redefine what it is
to be a neighbor, to be a community, to
be a region, and to share all that it has
to offer.

EXPANDING ON A SUCCESS
Construction on lighting along the Eastside Trail is underway and expected to be complete
in spring 2020. Trail users can expect crews to occupy portions of the trail surface in
addition to the shoulder as they work their way down the corridor. Work will take place
on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., dependent upon weather. Weekend work will only
take place if necessary. Only sections of the trail between Monroe Drive and Irwin Street
/ Lake Avenue – not the full length – will be impacted at one time. We thank you for your
patience as we make these improvements!

THE SOUTHERN EXTENSION
Currently, the Southside Interim Trail is open as an unpaved, interim trail, providing
connectivity between the paved Eastside and Westside Trails. Plans to build out the
Southside Trail are moving forward, with the first phase of construction efforts focused on
the portion extending from the southern end of the Westside Trail eastward toward the
Connector.

WHAT’S HAPPENING NOW
The Southwest Connector Spur Trail is part of a larger trail network that connects
neighborhoods in southwest Atlanta to the Westside Trail. When completed, this network
will be 4.5 miles. It is part of the Atlanta BeltLine’s 33-mile trail network.

THE WESTSIDE TRAIL EXTENSION IS NOT YET OPEN. In August 2018, the City of Atlanta
and Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. purchased 1.8 miles of former railroad corridor on the westside
informally known as “the Kudzu Line.” This stretch will extend the existing Westside
Trail and connect to the Westside Connector, currently in development by the PATH
Foundation.

Krog Street Market

RESTAURANT, RETAIL, EVENTS

KROG STREET MARKET
preserves the rich history
of Inman Park, as well
as, the building itself by
featuring stunning visual
elements such as original
exposed brick walls,

concrete floors, soaring
20-foot ceilings with
exposed steel trusses and
the spectacular clerestory
glass windows that run
the length of the building,
flooding the interiors with
natural light.

Developed by Asana Partners, KROG STREET MARKET is a destination for Atlanta’s
intown culture – those who are always searching for unique, specialty creations. It’s
designed to be as authentic as the 1920’s warehouse it’s built into. With market stalls to
sell produce, goods, and prepared food, along with a few southern-grown restaurants and
retailers, the market will offer Atlantans a gathering place of sorts – a locale for taking
in an extraordinary meal or picking up a few inspiring ingredients – a west coast-style
market, right in the heart of Inman Park.

Asana Partners is a retail real estate investment company that creates value by acquiring,
enhancing, and operating distinctive retail properties in urban markets around the
country. Like Krog Street Market, each property in it’s portfolio is closely connected to its
surrounding neighborhood and offers an authentic retail experience.

Known for investing in dynamic markets that continue to evolve, Asana has properties in
Austin, Charlotte, Dallas, Nashville, Alexandria, and Boston in addition to Atlanta. Their
character-rich locations – many of which feature historic properties – offer an eclectic
mix of independent, regional, and nationally recognized brands in retail, dining, and office
space.

HISTORY OF KROG

1889 – The Atlanta Stove Works brought to Atlanta a
revolutionary idea in the field of cooking – the Barrett Range
– made of cast iron.
1935 – The Atlanta Stove Works was making approximately
$500,000 per year.
1969 – Under the leadership of Mr. Saunders Jones, sales had
grown in excess of $35 million per year with employment of
over 500 people.

1987 – The Atlanta Stove Works closed their doors after
almost 100 years of being in business.

2004 – The abandoned factory was transformed into a
mixed-use development of offices and restaurants.
2006 – Tyler Perry purchased the land from Atlanta Stage
Works for a reported $7 million.

2008 – Tyler Perry officially opened the 200,000 square
foot space as Tyler Perry Studios, where he went on to make
16 movies, 14 stage plays, and 5 television programs.

2012 – The idea of Krog Street Market was born. Paces
Properties purchased the space in October, with plans to
transform it in to a mixed-use ‘epicurean center.’
2013 – In July, Krog Street Market officially announced its first seven retailers, which
include 4 eateries, 1 bakery, a florist, and a unique gift shop.
2013 – In August, “The Cottage,” a 1920’s historic home, was relocated to Lake Avenue &
Waddell Street to begin renovations. The Cottage would go on to be the store space of
The Collective.

excellence and bring authentic retail and dining experiences to customers

2018 – Krog Street Market is featured in the “Food Hall of Fame” episode of Food Paradise
on Travel Channel
