communication and collaboration.
We take immense pleasure in inviting your students to participate in ‘Capax Infinitum – Grasping the
Infinite’, an Inter-School Science Fest designed to nurture the 4Cs of the 21st century skills.

Please find attached the general guidelines and event guidelines for Capax Infinitum 2021. Request you
to confirm the participation of your school by filling the online registration form given in the document,
General Guidelines latest by Monday,12th July 2021.

CAPAX INFINITUM -INTER SCHOOL ONLINE SCIENCE FEST-
2021

GENERAL GUIDELINES

1. CAPAX INFINITUM- 2021 is open for students of classes IX to XII only.

2. A student can participate only in ONE of the given events.

3. The dates of submission for all the entries and the email ids along with the
name of teacher- in-charge have been mentioned in the guidelines for every
event in the document - Event Details.

4. Please adhere to the rules and number of participants specified for each event.

5. Only one Google Docs Registration Form will be accepted from the participating
school.

6. The decision of the judges will be final and binding for all the events.
7. Confirmation of your school’s participation must reach us at

11. CAPAX INFINITUM-Inter-School Online Fest-2021will culminate on 31st
July 2021 with the announcement of results on the DPS Gurgaon school
portal.

12. A Letter of Honour will be awarded to the school which has participated in all
the events and has the highest score.

13. The Letter of Honour and Certificates for the winners will be mailed to the
concerned schools on their official school email-id.

Event: 01

PANCHTATVA

Panchtatva - the five elements, Ether (Akash), Wind (Vayu), Fire (Agni), Water (Jal) and Earth (Prithvi),
form the warp and woof of the entire cosmos. Since ages, all the advancements made by our great
scientists in the various fields of science are based on exploring, understanding and utilizing these five
elements.
This event Panchtatva aims to showcase the zeal of our young scientists. Choose any one element
(except fire) and design an experiment/activity to demonstrate a principle/concept of Physics and make
a video of the same.

Guidelines:
 This event will be held in two rounds. Round 1 is an elimination round.
 It is an individual activity.
 Eligibility: Grade IX - XII
 No. of entries per school: 01
 For Round 1-

 Design an experiment/ activity based on any principle of physics. Make a video and mail the
same in MP 4 format. (Mention the element chosen)

 The file name should not contain the name of the participating school. It should be named as
panchtatva_tatva chosen_title of the video. (For example: panchtatva_water_archimedes)

 Duration of video: 3 to 4mins.
 Video should be shot in LANDSCAPE.
 The video must be shot by the individual participant inside the house. Outdoor locations are not

allowed.
 Shortlisted participants of Round 1, will be invited for a live presentation in Round 2.
 Round 2 will be held on Saturday, 24th July 2021 and details of the same will be shared on the

registered email id, with the shortlisted participants.
 Any entry which does not adhere to the guidelines will be disqualified.
 No personal information (like student’s name/school name) should be disclosed in the video.
 Entries must be mailed at [email protected] latest by Thursday, 22nd July 2021
 Decision of the judges will be final and binding.

Greenovation-The Ecological Innovation Challenge

Actions can be taken every day to reduce our ecological footprint or the mark we leave on our
natural environment and its resources. We invite you to identify challenges from any one of the
following categories and design potential sustainable solutions for a greener world in accordance
with the theme of United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, No.11(Sustainable cities and
communities) and No.12 (Responsible consumption and production).

 Waste management systems for residential use and small businesses
 Technology that helps an organisation or industry of your choice to overcome or leverage

the impacts of the global pandemic.
 Eco packaging of goods
 Low-cost housing

 The team will mail a presentation/ video summary /PPT/ prezi/sway which includes the challenge

statement, technical concept behind the solution, business prospect and graphic representation of their
solution.
 The solution should solve the defined problem. It should stand out and provide something new to the
market or supplement /improve an existing product or service.
 Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.
 The name of the school and the participant should be mentioned in the mail and not in the
presentation.

CHEMPUTLI

Learning with the art of storytelling never lets you forget

Storytelling is the most powerful tool to put ideas into words. Communication through puppets
challenges students to transform their knowledge into pictures, gestures and sounds. This gives them an
opportunity to express ideas, reflect personal values and think critically and creatively.

So unleash the storyteller in you to depict contribution of a scientist or scientific
concept/phenomenon through puppets.

Create a script to present the experience and contribution of a scientist or a chemical phenomenon /
concept. Then construct the puppets and enact to portray the script.

Topic(choose any one):

Guidelines:

 Students will enact a puppet show on any one of the given topics and are allowed to use relevant

props.
 The video should be in MP4 format and should not exceed 2 minutes.

presentation.

Stamp Age

Be like a postage stamp, stick to a thing until you get there

Stamps, small bits of paper with gum on one side and coloured pictures on the other, bought and affixed
on mail, celebrate change makers, historical and watershed moments. They have been the chroniclers of
the life and times of a nation and its people.

So, let your mind wander and dive deep into the art of designing a stamp and weaving words by creating
a limerick depicting the stamp.

Cultivate your creative thinking to design an animated stamp on one of the elements from the Periodic
Table. Write a limerick on the element chosen and add audio to it.

Guidelines:
 No. of entries per school: 01
 Number of participants: 02
 Eligibility: Classes IX – XII
 The limerick must be self-composed/original.
 The participant will use digital medium(Canva) for the animated stamp.
 Instructions for the Digital Medium Canva (https://www.canva.com/en_in/)
 Click on icon “Poster” and create your animated stamp along with limerick.
 Click on “Upload”, then click on audio to add your audio of the limerick.
 The participant is required to present the stamp along with the limerick .
 The limerick to be written along with the stamp and the same should also be recorded in his/her
audio.
 The document must be in MP4 format.
 Any kind of plagiarism will lead to disqualification.
 The name of the school and the participant should be mentioned in the mail and not in the
presentation.

SCIENCETOON

Science toons are the cartoons that provide scientific knowledge in a humorous way. They look funny
but at the same time provide information about new inventions, researches and technology in a simple
understandable and thought-provoking way. Use your scientific knowledge and humour to create your
own science toon.

Guidelines:

 No. of entries per school: 01
 Eligibility: Class IX- XII
 Number of participants per team: 02
 The science toon should be drawn on a A3/A4 sheet.
 Science toon should be submitted in JPEG format with the following two sections:

Top: This should have the scanned copy of the hand drawn sketch of the Science toon. Bottom:
This should explain the scientific concept related to the Science toon.
 The file name should not contain the name of the participating school. It should be named as
sciencetoon_theme. (For example: sciencetoon_refraction)
 There is no specific theme for this event. (The science toon should be based on science and
technology)
 Entries must be mailed at [email protected] latest by Thursday, 22nd July 2021.
 Plagiarism will lead to disqualification.

Time Lapse-Voyage into The Future

Share your magical, whimsical or adventurous audio story of a perfect futuristic world. The audio story
should be accompanied with an art work/painting /collage supporting it. Your story could be about
imaginative concepts such as parallel universes, fictional worlds full of advanced technology, time travel
or even about extraterrestrial life. It should conjure a mood, create a sense of momentum and bring a
smile to the face of the listener. Bring your narration alive with theatrics and sound effects.
Guidelines:

 No. of entries per school: 01
 Eligibility: Class IX- XII
 Number of participants per team: 03
 Duration of the audio story : not more than 90 seconds.
 Name of the participating school /participants should not be mentioned in the audio story or in

the art work.
 Entries must be original creations.
 The art work should be visually arresting and clearly communicate your vision.
 Entries must be mailed at [email protected] latest by Thursday, 22nd July 2021.
 Plagiarism will lead to disqualification.
 Decision of the judges will be final and binding.
