DEFINITION

The Thyristor semiconductor event log (Thyristor) has an
internal structure consisting of a total of four P-type and N-type
semiconductors colliding with each other, two P-type opposing
phases, and two N-type phases, respectively, with output pins.
Comes to use 3 legs: Anode , Cathode and Gate.

CONSTRUCTION

It consists of 4 layers of silicon
semiconductor. P-N-P-N Available
3 joints

There are both types of SCRs in which the
gate is at the P compound and the gate. is at
the N substance, but is generally a P-type
gate.

SYMBOL

PRINCIPLE

Forward

Forward bias is the application of a positive electric potential to
the anode.A negative potential is applied to the cathode, but an SCR
can conduct current. A positive potential must be applied to the gate
leg. compared tocathode, then the SCR conducts the hold current.

Reverse bias

Reverse bias is the application of a negative electric potential to
the anode. A positive potential is applied to the cathode, the SCR will
not conduct current. even if the positive voltage is applied to the gate
leg

APPLICATION

Used to control the on-off of the circuit and control the current and
voltage in the circuit.
