This Act prevents discrimination in terms of remu-
neration. It provides for payment of equal recompense
to men and women workers. It is necessary to know
these and other laws in place to protect the interests
of women. Only if you are aware of your rights can
you fight against any injustice meted out to you at
home, at the workplace, or in the society. Sure. The
world organizations have taken many measures to en-
sure the protection of girl children but many of them
are still not being followed. For this the government
should ensure that they are being followed by ensur-
ing proper security of the country and a high penalty
for anyone breaking the rules.

With the growing state of today’s world we also have
to give concern to the protection of women in this
world. They are not specks of dust or peasants that
should be over looked. Their voices should be heard
too and they have fundamental rights like any other LAKSHMI NANDA
human being does. They are not as weak as we think
and if they were given the chance they would show us MADHUSOODHANAN
how powerful they actual are. So, why not give them 8 B
a chance and see how they use it, turn your heads and
look at them too give them the attention, protection
and concern they deserved. They are not as hopeless
as you think.

INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE DAY

‘EXPLORE, INQUIRE AND INNOVATE’

‘Everything you see

around you has some
science in it’.
Keeping this in mind, the activity selected for the students of Primary sec-
tion for celebrating International Science day was ‘FUN WITH SCIENCE
EXPERIMENTS’. The students enthusiastically demonstrated simple science
experiments in the class, with commonly available items in their house. They
also confidently spoke about the scientific concept along with the experiments
with a lot of vigor and zeal. It was indeed a fun filled day in which the main
motive was to arouse intellectual curiosity in classrooms where the children
could investigate, observe and appease their quest for discovery. This activity
also helped to spread a message about the importance of Science in the daily
life and encourage scientific thinking among students. A Photography exhi-
bition was conducted for students of classes 5-12. Those students who were
interested in photography took part in this competetion. The topic choosen
was ‘Nature’ and the photographs were printed in an A4 size sheet and the
same were displayed in the outside bulletin board.
