Alyssa is graduating magna cum laude with majors in culinary food science and horticulture.
While at Iowa State, Alyssa served as Culinary Science Club president and held leadership
positions with Alpha Gamma Delta and the Dance Marathon. She was also a member of Beta Beta
Beta Biological Honor Society, Gamma Sigma Delta, Pi Alpha Xi Honorary Fraternity of Horticulture
and Rho Lambda Honor Fraternity.
Alyssa completed five internships during her undergraduate studies, including as a Service-
Learning Intern with the EARTH Service Learning Program in the U.S. Virgin Islands; a Culinary
Food Science Intern in Ames; an Education and Food Safety Intern at Kimmel Orchard and Vineyard
in Nebraska City, Nebraska; a Rising Star Intern with ISU Extension and Outreach in Northwest
Iowa; and a Horticulturist Assistant Intern at The Olde Farm Golf Club in Bristol, Virginia.
After graduating, Alyssa will work as a Summer Associate Educator for STEM in Northwest Iowa for Iowa State
University Extension and Outreach and then attend graduate school at Virginia Tech.

Elisa is graduating summa cum laude with a major in management information systems.
During her time at Iowa State, Elisa was a George Washington Carver Scholar, as well as a
peer academic coach for the Academic Success Center. She also served as vice president for the
Information Systems and Business Analytics Club, professional relations chair for Collegiate Women
in Business, and was involved in several case competitions representing Ivy.
As an Ivy College of Business student, Elisa completed three internships, including as a business
intern with Picture Perfect Home Team Realty, a product owner for Principal Financial Group, and a
cybersecurity operations intern with Land O’Lakes.
After graduation, Elisa will begin work in the Information Systems Career Foundation Program at
Boeing in Charleston, South Carolina.

Major: Political Science, Summa Cum Laude

Morgan is graduating summa cum laude with a degree in political science. She finished in the top
2% of her class and is a member of the Cardinal Key Honor Society.

While at Iowa State, Morgan has held a number of leadership positions. She served as president of
the ISU Student Government during the 2020-21 academic year, during which time she advocated
for Open Educational Resources and affordable course materials, helped develop a parent-friendly
study space in the library, created a paper towel composting pilot program, and served as the
chief representative of the student voice on university committees and initiatives, including the
COVID-19 response. Her leadership during the early pandemic response led to her induction into
Rose Frantzen’s “Faces of Iowa State” portrait collection in 2021.

Morgan was also a Cyclone Aide, the service co-chair of Phi Beta Kappa, and a member of
President Wintersteen’s leadership class advisory program.

In 2021, Morgan was appointed by Governor Kim Reynolds to serve a three-year term on the State of Iowa Juvenile
Justice Advisory Council.

After graduation, Morgan plans to continue public policy work in Iowa and attend law school.

Darbi is graduating summa cum laude with a major in graphic design.
Darbi was a George Washington Carver Scholar and served as the Graphic Design Social Club
community outreach chair, a Destination Iowa State team leader, a Larch Hall resident advisor and
a BUILD (Building Up Inclusive Leadership in Design) learning community peer mentor. Darbi
also worked as a lead graphic designer for Ames BLM (the Ames Black Liberation Movement) and
volunteered with the Overflow Thrift Store and Reiman Gardens.
Darbi completed internships as a communications coordinator and graphic designer for the ISU

Sierra gained experience as an Assistant Manager in ISU Dining’s Special Diet Kitchen, where she
assisted students with medically-indicated special diets. She served in a leadership role for S.H.O.P.,
ISU’s on-campus food pantry; as president of the Phi Upsilon Omicron national honor society; and
as a teaching assistant. She was also involved with peer mentoring, Destination Iowa State, and the
Ethical Eating Club.
During her time at Iowa State, Sierra was part of Dr. Elizabeth Stegemoller’s research studying the
effects of music as a rehabilitation strategy for those with Parkinson’s disease. She also worked with
Dr. Maren Wolff and the SWITCH Initiative to enhance health and wellness programming in Iowa’s
