From the
Principal's Desk
“Keep your face always toward the sunshine - and shadows will fall behind you.”
- Walt Whitman
A positive outlook can transform challenging tasks into definite and encouraging triumphs. In the overwhelming situations
of life, we should keep a positive slant and attitude. It is like a basket of apples, some are rotten while others are good; it's
our job to throw out the rotten ones and forget about them while enjoy eating the ones that are good! We have two
primary choices… to accept conditions as they exist or to take up the responsibility to change them. As students, we should
take up the responsibility to change the conditions in our favour. It is about mind over matter…It is about being positive…let
me share an inspirational story of a frog - There once was a bunch of tiny frogs who arranged a climbing competition. The
goal was to reach the top of a very high tower. A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the
contestants. And the race began…Honestly, no one in the crowd really believed the tiny frogs would reach the top of the
tower. Heard throughout the race was, “It is impossible!” Sure enough, the tiny frogs began collapsing, one by one - most
believed that the crowd is probably right… “It's impossible!” But ONE continued to climb higher and higher. This one
refused to give up and after a big effort, was the only one who reached the top! Thrilled, all of the other tiny frogs wanted to
know how this one frog managed to do it. They asked him how he had found the strength to succeed and reach the goal. It
turned out that the winning frog was DEAF!!!
The wisdom of this story is that we should not pay heed to the negative thoughts rather we should always keep a positive
outlook. And above all, be DEAF when people tell you that you cannot! Be the little frog that defies the negative thinking by
being deaf to them for you know inside your heart… You Can Do It!

“If we are stones, then the school is the wave of change that flows over us and creates its everlasting impression in our lives.”
When a child first enters the school premises he truly believes that his parents are the builders of his life. If he is the seed, then they are the ones who would
nurture him into a beautiful flower. Within a few years in the school, they have a bit twist in what they think. Like nurturing requires all the elements in right
proportion, along with parents, it is the teachers and the school that acts as a force that pushes us forward to climb the pinnacle of a successful and an ideal
life. Our life is a mere lump of clay and the school is the potter that shapes our life. RDPS acts as that potter in life of its students. The well acquainted
infrastructure, multi facilities along with the blend of a perfect group of teachers is the striking feature of our school that makes its stand out of all. It provides
a home like atmosphere and endlessly supports the children to fight the hardest battle, which any human being can ever imagine to fight; until they arrive at
their destined goal and discover that they are UNIQUE. The school doesn't restrict to textbook learning rather focuses on multi
dimensional and practical learning too. It is the persistent efforts of the school and the teachers that help to inculcate moral values in
students and thus make them a better human. It helps us to realize our own potential. Indeed, “Adding wings to caterpillars does not create
butterflies- it creates awkward and dysfunctional caterpillars. Butterflies are created through transformation.”Our school is that wave of
transformation that helps us to make clear targets and support us throughout to accomplish them.

TECHNO SAVVY RUKMINIANS (Annual IT Project)
CBSE-National
Students get enriched from learning when they have a degree of choice, a scope of exploring various resources, an opportunity to
enhance their multiple intelligences, work in teams and present their work with innovative ideas and improve their ACT approach.
Annual Project is one such asset of Rukminians that provides many such opportunities.
It is mandatory for all students from classes V to VII to undertake a project in a group of two, on the topic of their choice. IT Project is
divided into various phases where the students collect data (through books, magazines, newspapers, journals, surveys, encyclopedias,
CD's and Internet) and analyze the information, report their results and present their work before their peers and teachers using aids like
powerpoint slides, charts, models, etc. The teacher acts as a facilitator while designing activities, providing resources and guidelines to
students as they pursue their investigations/study.
All the students made efforts to reach to their potential but there were a few who showed extra ordinary efforts, and stood head and
shoulders above the others. They were awarded for their excellent performance. The winners of Annual Project 2014-15 are listed below:

COLLABORATIVE PROJECTS AT RDPS (2014-15)
Rukminians believe – 'The world is a classroom' and Collaborative Project, mandatory for class VIII students is a key to the same. These
projects provide students with a platform to reach peers across the world through internet and to perform real time experiments and
utilize the data in enhancing their knowledge. It gives them an opportunity to work together and learn from each other without meeting
face-to-face. It helps them to explore community, culture and scientific issues which prepare them for the workforce and help them to
become responsible and literate global citizens. At the same time, these projects increase their understanding and appreciation of
different cultures promoting interdisciplinary study across the curriculum.
Approximately 165 students of RDPS are currently involved in collaborative projects. They interact with students of countries from all over
the world viz. USA, Argentina, Russia, Germany, UK, Austria and Spain, etc. and are working on projects such as Culture and Tradition,
Education System, Life from 0 to 100, The Image of the Other, etc.
Video Conferencing sessions, a synchronous tool which allows people at two or more locations to see and hear each other at the same
time, was conducted on many challenging topics with Class VIII under the guidance of Mr. Cunningham (Director of World Class Schools,

Moral and Social Domain
“We are all born as empty vessels which can be shaped by moral values.” - Jerry Springer
Education is not just a process of imparting knowledge but a lifelong progression which includes an understanding of
ethical and social values to guide and make our students morally upright citizens of the country. Moral and social values
are central to our existence. At RDPS, we teach our students to synchronize and harmonize these values in their life. We
believe that we can give our children an opportunity to be responsible and productive citizens by nurturing their minds,
embracing the ethos and strengthening the principles.

Physical and Aesthetic realms in education are defining. These domains represent a garden of art and sports that
contributes directly to the development of aesthetic competence and physical fitness. The education program at RDPS
provides a natural vehicle through which students can not only explore and express themselves but also discover and
