K2

Hello K2s! Wow! It doesn't feel like we are almost at the end of
the Academic Year 2020-2021. Many things have happened
this year, but all of you can go through it very well. Good job,
K2s!

In this theme, How We Organize Ourselves, K2 students
learned about various kinds of transportation by land, air, and
water. Land transportation such as car, bus, truck, van, and
bike. Air transportation such as airplanes and helicopters.
Water transportation such as boat, ship, and kayak. We also
learned about the important parts of each vehicle, and the most
exciting part was that we had one of our parents, a ship
captain, as our guest speaker. We learned a lot of things from
him.
In this theme, K2 students also learned how to make
transportation miniature using cardboard. We painted, cut, and
pasted all the stuff. We had so much fun!

All of these goals would not be possible without the support
from parents and guardians at home. We are looking forward
to discovering new experiences and journeys together. Stay
safe and healthy.

K3

Hello, loyal readers of the SBR newsletter! K3
has undergone the most awesome journey this
year and can still have fun even in this
challenging pandemic season.

We have become tough and resilient people
who are keener on learning new things. Our
last theme guides the K3 students to explore
public places by using several applications in
our teaching and learning process. They made
public place mockups from used boxes
creatively and colorfully. It was the last project
for this year, and we, teachers, are very proud
of the students' work.

Students also practiced dancing in preparation
for the first online End-Year Performance. All
these will never be realized without the
cooperation, persistence, and patience of K3
parents.

Hopefully, our learning days will memorable
and become an enduring understanding for all
K3 students. May all the lessons stimulate
them to be more inspired in creating ideas and
enhance their skills, knowledge, and attitude
as we go through this pandemic.

May hope to be a strong and safe anchor for
our souls. Greetings of health and enthusiasm
for all of us.

PREP

Under the transdisciplinary theme “Sharing the Planet,” Prep
students developed an understanding of the rights and
responsibilities to the environment. Students created a campaign of
their choice to reduce, reuse, or recycle by recording their chosen
action. This campaign aims to persuade others that even small acts
at home in doing the 3R - Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, can help save
our environment. The students demonstrated excellent
communication skills through the campaign.

On Monday, 24 May 2021, the students had special guests from
grade 10 of Sekolah Bogor Raya -Bye-Bye Plastic (BBPB)
committees. From the discussion, one of the students posed an
interesting question, “If plastic is very dangerous, why are there still
so many people using it?” The question led to further discussion as
to what Prep students think about the alternatives to reduce the
use of plastic. This session has helped Prep students to reflect on
their responsibilities to help reduce the use of plastic in daily life.

As Prep students are nearly at the end of their Kindergarten
journey, they held a graduation commencement celebration on
Saturday, 29 May 2021. Following the Covid-19 protocols, Prep
students had a drive-through graduation commencement. Despite
the Covid-19 circumstances, Prep students, families, and teachers
were still able to enjoy the graduation commencement and captured
the precious moment together with families and teachers.
Congratulations, Prep students!

It has been an incredible journey, and we are so proud that everyone worked so hard and has made so much
great effort this year. We have shared many beautiful memories and have also had fun even in online learning.

Everyone always focused on the work and kept working hard until all tasks were completed.

We had a lot of fun teaching and learning during this academic year in the Covid-19 situation. We hope everyone
has the most wonderful journey to the next level. This past year, we have grown together and always strive to

be the best we can be!

At the end of our time together, we would like to thank all parents for all the warmth and support during online
learning this year. Thank you for all the extra efforts and the challenges to encourage your child to become
who they are today. We truly appreciate your help and cooperation and the positive learning environment you
provide for your child.

Thank you once again for the time, support and patience.

DRIVE-THROUGH GRADUATION
COMMENCEMENT

This year we have lived, studied, learned, laughed, and grown up together even though we
learn at home. We have become a classroom family and always be a part of each other. We
watched the students change from day to day as we go through the challenges during the
Covid-19 pandemic. They keep up to face the challenges until the end of the school year. We
hope that all the things we've done have helped in small ways. We did it! Congratulations,

Prep students, for graduating from SBR Kindergarten.
Good luck with your journey in Grade 1. Stay healthy and be happy.

“Save Orangutans, Save Their Habitat”

Orangutans activity

One of the 4 Learning Education Pillars is "Learning To Live Together". As Grade 2 explores the theme
"Sharing the Planet", they become more aware of themselves and how they are connected with other living
creatures on this Earth.

Kak Antonia Junita or, Kak Nia, is the Fundraising and Social Engagement Officer from Borneo Orangutan
Survival Foundation (BOSF). Kak Nia held a virtual session with the students about orangutans and their
habitat. She explained very well, sharing with the students how important orangutans are for our life.

Ka Nia from BOSF Orangutans are endemic primates in the archipelago that are
threatened by extinction. That’s why the session with BOSF gave

#saveorangutans orangutans. It is not only because they are cute and seem like
humans, but God created them in the forest to spread seeds. When
they sleep, the canopy opens and the sun sends light to the forest.
The seeds grow and turn into trees. Trees absorb carbon dioxide
and produce oxygen for humans.

The message spreads deep in the student’s heart. They are happy to
ask questions. Some of them also shared their poster to champaign
#saveorangutan at the end of the sharing session.

Grade 2 students were so engaged with the presentation. It was a
wonderful opportunity to learn more about the role of orangutans
and how we can work to save them and our shared environment.

Adaptation is the Key
A Sharing Session with Victoria Rahardjo, SBR Alumni

In this very last theme of the 2020/2021 academic year, the grade 3
students got a nice opportunity to meet Kak Vicky. Related to the last
lines of inquiry in the theme Where We Are in Place and Time, we learned
about human adaptation to the climate and geographical conditions. Kak
Vicky is an Indonesian, SBR alumni that now lives and works in Montreal,
Canada.

Kak Vicky began her presentation by explaining geographical conditions in
Canada. She shared the famous landform and bodies of water that can be
visited if we go to Canada. Then Kak Vicky explained the four seasons that
happened every year.

Adaptation is the key.

When Kak Vicky moved to Canada from Indonesia, she needed to adapt to
many new things since we know Indonesia’s geographical conditions are way
different from Canada’s. Kak Vicky explained that people in Canada should
adjust their habits according to each season. The habits consist of: clothes,
food or drink, and activities.

At the end of the session, we had questions and answers about the topic. The
students were so interested in Kak Vicky’s presentation. Each class asked
questions about various things to Kak Vicky. They asked about Kak Vicky’s
experience in Canada, her favorite food, and her hobbies.

“Let’s Start A Business”
By Nadia Lubis, an SBR Alumni

The Grade 4 students had been exploring creating a business as
they are in Theme 5, which focused on economics, marketing,
and all the things needed to become successful entrepreneurs.

We had the wonderful opportunity to have a discussion with
Kak Nadia Lubis, an entrepreneur who is very successful. Kak
Nadia Lubis runs a jewelry store, a restaurant, and a catering
company with her family. Kak Nadia talked about SWOT (which
is Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat), discussed the
ups and downs of starting a company, marketing strategy, and
how she overcame her problems.

It was such a great insight to be able to hear from her
experiences and she thrived for success and excellence in her
work. Grade 4 students were inspired by Kak Nadia Lubis as we
gave our best to create products for the Market Day.

CLASS AT A GLANCE

Grade 1 Time flies! Now, we are nearly at the end of the academic year. This year was a
tough year for everyone, including Grade 1 students. We had online learning this
year. Although we cannot meet at school, we had a great time together. We not
only had fun while online learning, but we also had some engaging activities such
as celebrating birthdays, expert visits, and virtual trips. We are thrilled to know
that students enjoy the learning. Last week we had reflection time where
students were allowed to express their feelings and ideas. They shared all about
their favorite subjects and things. Moreover, they also addressed their goals in
grade 2.

The last theme is “Sharing the Planet”. Grade 1 students are fascinated to
explore and dig for more information about minibeasts. They discovered
different kinds of minibeast, their habitat, and their roles in our environment.
Now, grade 1 students know that minibeasts play an important role for us. So, as
a summative assessment, the students made a campaign to save minibeasts and
allow more people to be aware of their roles. This project is also supported by
Ibu Puji, our visual art teacher who guided students in creating the posters. We
hope that students make a contribution to protecting our only planet Earth. Well
done Grade 1! (FN)

Grade 2 “Best Day of My Life”

When was the best day of your life?
What made the day the best one?

“Grade 2 is working on stuff to finish our theme 6 and this academic year. Completing projects, self-assessment,
and digital portfolio. The students are very happy but also sad at the same time because soon they will pass this
school year.

“The questions above actually do not have the answer. Every day is the best day. We
thank God for everything that has been done for us. The best part of our day is when we
have each other. Getting to know each other. We learn, play, laugh, cry and do many
things together.

Circle Time every morning is very memorable because we do and talk about many
interesting things. We even invited the parents and had a session called “Bedtime Story”.

“When the students interviewed some members of SBR (Principals and Admin Staff) and
talked about their roles in the SBR community. They made their own questions and
proudly asked the guests.

“Expert visits become the opportunity for them to learn from other people and know
more about the topic we discuss like community, illustrator, and orangutans.
Dear Time is also the best session. Grade 2 students can read and share the books they
like with their friends. Moreover, they can be more confident and love to read.
Last but not least, sessions with the specialists like Visual Art, LA, PE, etc were very
exciting. They can explore many new things and express themselves in many ways.

There were so many days with unforgettable moments for them. Hopefully, they will remember every single
moment this year. Never gonna look back on the mistakes and never gonna give them up for the future. (DU)

“The end of a journey means the start of another one” Grade 3

It has been a year, a wonderful year through many ups and downs where we needed to adjust everything.
WE DID IT! And as the quote says, “the end means the start of another journey”. We have passed this year, but have
challenges ahead of us in the next year.

Before that time comes, grade 3 students took a moment to reflect on what they have been through this year.
Together with the teachers, the students gave their opinions about what they felt during this academic year, they
shared with us their favourite activity and things that happened this year. They also mentioned their hope for the
next academic year, what they want to happen, and what they want to do for themselves.

Grade 3 students also have so many things to do these days. They made My
Country Project for the UOI, My Survey Project for Math and also there is
Laporan Kunjungan for Bahasa Indonesia. Though it’s called an assignment,
the students really enjoyed the process of doing it.

Finally, at the end of the day, the grade 3 students showed their good effort
and responsibilities in their learning process. Well done students now let’s
say it again say “WE DID IT!” (RR and TZ)

Grade 4 “We are young entrepreneurs”

Theme 6, which is our last theme in this academic year, has been a blast. We learned about the economics, the market,
how to create products and actually sell our products. We started by learning basic economics and how to start a
business of our own, which is how we became young entrepreneurs.

The Market Day was the one big event that was on the minds of our Grade 4 students for a while. They did a survey to
find out more about the demands, conducted research of the goods that they wanted to sell, learned about marketing,
promoted their products, calculated the budgets, created advertisements, prepared the packaging, and made sure that
everything was ready for the Market Day. It was quite a long process, but it was all worth it.

The products sold on Market Day varied from tote bags, bracelets, hair accessories, sushi, pudding, and all kinds of
cakes. The students even created eco-friendly packaging that can be reused or recycled. We are grateful for the
endless support from the parents and everybody at school. We have started our own businesses, we are young
entrepreneurs. Grade 4 was such an incredible learning experience for all of us. We encountered obstacles, solved
problems, but the most important thing was learning and growing together as a team.

"Actually, I have just contributed to the newsletter this year, but overall it has been a really satisfying
journey as I see how heartfully people pour out their ideas in this community. The sense of belonging is
pretty high and every time my writing is posted there, I rain dance! There are times when the due date is
killing me, but I guess it is all worth it. We get better and better. Taking this role never goes smoothly
without my colleagues in the Grade 5 team, since it is not only about what I thought, but it is about what

I love writing because I can share all my feelings that I might not be able to share verbally. Even though my
writing only fills half to one page, it comes from the great stories of our students in grade 2. I open my eyes
wider and try to be more sensitive to all things happening around them. Every time I was so excited to tell
their stories for the readers through articles and pictures. When I read the magazine, I feel so proud to
recount the good things we have done together. Thank you to the students for inspiring me. Thank you for
the experience. Stay safe, happy, and healthy!
Deassy Ulorlo, Grade 2 contributor

I am grateful to get an opportunity in this academic year to be a part of this newsletter team. I love
reading, writing, and sharing wonderful stories that happened with our grade 3 students. It is always
challenging to start each article, but once we have our ideas, we can finish our article successfully. I hope
our readers enjoyed our stories, thank you.
Rikonita Rainarli, Grade 3 contributor

It is a pleasure to be a part of this community. I love to share the wonderful moments that I’ve experienced
with my grade 1 students. I love to share how amazing they are. Seeing their spirit and also their smile
makes me feel how grateful I am to have them as my students who put a smile on my face and also give me
strength during this hard situation. I know it is not that easy to put all of your thoughts and feelings
through writing. Sometimes it’s really challenging to start, you don’t know where to start, but when you
keep trying and never give up, you can see that you can do that far, more than you ever imagined and more
than you can expect. It’s not about how long the text that you are writing, but it’s about the thought that
you put in the writing that counts. Hopefully, our writing can inspire people. Stay healthy and happy!
Florentina Ratna, Grade 1 contributor

I have been writing for the school’s newsletter for three years now. I enjoy telling stories about our
classroom, the students’ activities, our learning experiences, but most of all I really hope that our articles
will be able to inspire others.
This pandemic really reminded me to be grateful that I have a great team of teachers and amazingly strong
willed students that managed to conquer many obstacles together.
Remember, to write is to share and to empower others.
Yoke Kurniawan, Grade 4 contributor.

"For me, writing is one of the ways to express myself. Being trusted to become a contributor in the
newsletter has given me an opportunity to share lots of stories about educating and learning together as a
Grade 6 teachers team of Sekolah Bogor Raya. Writing something worth reading has never been easy.
Having this role has also opened my eyes to firstly do something worth writing as a teacher and work hand
in hand with the school community to create the best real stories. I hope that my stories could inspire
people who read it. For sure, my biggest appreciation is thanking the students, teachers and parents for
becoming the main inspiration. Thank you!"
Wendy Agustine, Grade 6 Contributor

It is always an honour to put all stories up and share them to the community members. It is about
celebrating genuine and authentic learning experiences, from students, teachers and parents. There were
many stories about ups and downs to deal and face the challenges in this current situation, but at the same
time there are a lot of inspiring stories as well. This newsletter gives us space to voice our stories of
making choices in learning to accommodate agency. Agency is our need to be heard and to express
ourselves, and we hope there will be more stories that can be told to inspire us.

COOKING CLUB

Cooking is the art, science, and craft of using heat to prepare food for
consumption. There are many cooking skills and some recipes require
several techniques to make one delicious dish. In the cooking club meeting,
we discuss and explore new dish recipes and the cooking process. Students
are actively involved to share their idea to cook a dish, using their own
recipes.

In the cooking club, we learn some aspects of cooking, such as the basic
ingredients, utensils, and kinds of dishes. Each week, the club learns a
different theme and skill of cooking for their activities. Through the
cooking club, each member gets a challenge to practice their cooking skill in
cooking an appetizer, main course, dessert, and local dish.

One of the projects was cooking local dishes, both from Indonesia and
abroad. Each student was given a challenge to cook their favorite local dish
and make the documentation in the photo or video. There were students
who cooked Ayam Suwir Sambal Matah Bali, Mie Ayam and Dumpling.
Then, students presented the result of their cooking process and the other
students gave responses of their dish.

The Cooking Club is not only a place for students to learn about cooking. In
the club, students can interact with the other cooking club members from
different grades, so it makes them have more friends. Students can also
improve their leadership skills, because some students become committee
members of the club and they can learn to lead and organize the team. (ER)

WRITING Writing is a way to be adventurous. By joining the
CLUB writing club, students are encouraged to be
adventurous and explore their ideas and creativity,
which are then expressed in written form. The work
of all students' ideas and creativity is contained in a
digital magazine format. Students collaborate to
present informative and educational writings, as well
as entertain readers. "Parachute" is the students’
choice to name their magazine, with the philosophy
of broadening your horizons like the expansion of a
parachute.

Discussion on the topic of articles, looking for
references, exchanging ideas for magazine designs,
are activities that students do during weekly
meetings. At the end of the term, all students' work
will be published in the hope of being an inspiration
for readers. (MW)

BOSF SBR

BOSF (Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation) SBR is part of BOSF Indonesia, which focuses on introducing the
importance of orangutan reservation for secondary school students in SBR. In this club, students learn about the
current condition of orangutans and how they are on the verge of extinction.

Besides that, students also learn about the
characteristics of orangutans in the wild and how
their proper habitat has slowly been lost due to
forest exploitation, especially in Borneo.
BOSF SBR believes that everyone has a role to play
in helping orangutan preservation in Borneo.

Therefore, BOSF SBR also has a mission to spread
awareness to fellow SBR students and the
community about the importance of protecting the
habitat of orangutans through the BOSF_SBR
Instagram account.

In Semester 1, BOSF SBR has designed activities to
raise funds by selling orangutan-themed
merchandise. Apart from getting the funds that will
be donated to BOSF National, this sale also aims to
increase awareness of the status of orangutans in
danger.

In the future, BOSF SBR will continue to provide
education about orangutans and find solutions to
help orangutan reservations so that they are
relieved from the threat of extinction. (ASP)

Dance Club

The Dance Club is a place for students who find passion in dance. We aim to
elevate art and culture through contemporary and ethnic gestures, with the vision
to conserve Indonesian art and culture that are often overlooked during this
competitive era of globalisation. Our mission is to develop our potential from this
art form to make achievements and create a generation of characters who are
catalysts of art and culture to keep not only traditional dances, but modern dances
alive as well.

Our sessions take place every Wednesday at 16:10 - 17:00. We often discuss
things related to dance; in theory (with presentations), practice (live dance
sessions), and past experiences (some heart-to-heart about our past achievements
and competitions). We always learn something new from one another as we all
come from different cultures and dance backgrounds. Some began with hip-hop,
traditional, or urban, others began with jazz, contemporary, or ballet. Together, we
experiment with dances originating from different cultures and create our own
covers and choreographies.

In term 1, we focused on modern dances and creating
choreographies. In term 4, we dove into a bit more
theories and explored many genres of dance by sharing
presentations or just explaining about our favourite
genre of dance or genre of dance that we wanted people
to know. Don’t forget to visit our instagram page

Engage English and Arts Competition 2021 SPH

Recently, at the end of April, some of our students joined the Engage
2021 English and Arts Competition. The event challenged Indonesian
high school students in grades 9-12 to showcase their talents and
skills in speech, short story, debate, and digital and non-digital art
competitions. Sekolah Bogor Raya proudly sponsored three of our
bright, young stars to test their abilities in the event.

Fathimah Badjened (9A) created a riveting short story titled “Hell is
Wherever I Am” which demonstrated not only her strong writing skills
but her creativity as well. Jashan Kumar (9C) and Felicia Audrey (9C)
teamed up to tackle the debate competition in a 2-day mini-
conference that tested their public speaking skills in addition to their
logic and persuasion. We are proud to announce they were named the
winning team on the 2nd day’s meeting despite not winning the
competition overall.

Although SBR didn’t take home any trophies from this competition,
the hard work and dedication our grade 9 students displayed makes
them winners in our eyes. Congratulations to Fathimah, Jashan, and
Felicia and we know you’ll get ‘em next year. (CE)

SBR WALK 2021: STAYING HEALTHY VIRTUALLY

With a year full of hurdles, it was impossible for us to
conduct the SBR Walk event offline. Due to this
pandemic, we couldn’t facilitate a festive event, full of
challenges, performances, or the experience of
togetherness between fellow classmates, friends, and
families. Despite that, the committee did not lose hope
and began planning for an online event that none of us
were familiar with. As during this pandemic, many
families and individuals have started to have a habit of
exercising. Exercising is a practical and strong way to
strengthen the immune system. Thus, the SBR Walk
2021: Staying Healthy Virtually aims to challenge
students as well as parents to further sharpen their
exercise skills and also develop their competitiveness
through the competitions being held.

The event itself held a total of 5 different categories
that the participants could join, which were Yoga,
Basketball, Running, Cycling and Dance. There were
competitions being held in each sport category in
which participants could participate to see where they
rank up amongst other enthusiasts. This was a good
chance for them to meet fellow sports enthusiasts and
learn new techniques and skills from others who
performed more exceptionally.

Each sport category has their own qualifications in order to win an award. And the awarding ceremony was done
via YouTube live. The awards were for the participants who are deemed eligible for the medals and the challenge
completers who earned their prizes. The awarding ceremony also featured several speeches from; SBR’s
secondary principal, Bu Andri Nurcahyani, the head of committee for this event, Keisha Valenna Kwek, and the
executive leaders of this year’s student council, Katarina Jocelyn and Chiesa Gospelli.

After the event ended, the committee was bombarded with positive feedback from participants. The event
seemed to have blossomed the participants’ will to exercise more during this tough time. Therefore, it is safe to
conclude that this event was a major success, with a total participation of more than 110 participants, exceeding
our initial target. It wouldn’t have been possible without the support of teachers, advisors, Ibu Andri, Pak Sandi,
and this year’s student council officers, as well as our media partners. Till next time!

winds in your sails. Explore, dream, discover.” – Mark Twain

Sekolah Bogor Raya held the Drive Thru Graduation Ceremony
for Grade 12 on Saturday, 5th June 2021. The ceremony
implemented the Vintage theme where the procession was
equipped with the presence of the '74 VW Beetle to complete
the beauty of the old-school atmosphere in the event.

There were a total of 43 graduates from the Class of 2021. They
were welcomed and inaugurated by the Secondary Principal -
Ibu Andri Nurcahyani, the Curriculum Coordinator - Mr.
Benedict Emil Rhinne, and the Head of Yayasan Danasha - Ibu
Regina Hartati.

The Valedictorian of the 2021 Graduates, Jessica, burst into
tears when she was announced as the best graduate. She
thanked all the teachers and her friends for all the memories
she had had during the hard times due to the pandemic
situation.

"I have many great and unforgettable memories in SBR but
among these would be years I spent as a member and

president of the Student Council. For three years, I got to
work and lead alongside amazing people. This experience
taught me so much, including the very important value of
hard work and collaboration. Indeed, there were many times
where it got very stressful, especially in the middle of IBDP,
but this ultimately made me a more resilient person and a
better problem solver. Through the Student Council and
other community service and CAS activities, I also found joy
in giving back to society and my community. Being in SBR

allowed me to explore areas I'm passionate about and
inspired me to take on more challenging roles and
responsibilities."

"WE" COMMUNITY OF LEARNERS Vol.10 / MAY-JUNE 2021

LEARNING TOGETHER WITH AN SBR STUDENT

Nirwasita Ayu Prabowo (Nirwa) was born on August 28th,
2008 and has been with SBR since 2020 for secondary,
however she ever joined SBR in Prep class.

Her hobbies include dancing, singing, listening to music,
reading, writing and sometimes playing guitar. She also likes
to watch anime currently, as she feels that they motivate her
in some ways.
She really likes dancing because it’s an activity where she can
have fun but also keep her body fit through moving. It just
feels so nice when dancing. She loves to listen to music and
move her body according to the rhythm.

Her memorable moment was during the competitions when
she and her team were preparing to dance in a group. It was
very fun. Usually before they perform on stage, she thinks
about when she and her group practice, their efforts to win.
The moment when she waits for the music on stage and many
people are watching, she feels so nervous and asks herself,
“Will she dance well?” “Will she fail?” but then when the
music starts, she just does the choreography, dancing on the
stage like when she had practiced before, not thinking too
much, and enjoying herself with the team. Also when waiting
for the announcement, she might panic a little and be
nervous but happy because she did the dance, moreover with
her friends.

Here are a few of his more outstanding achievements and
competitions joined:

Indonesia Hip Hop Championship 2019 (5th place),
Campina Modern Dance Competition (2nd place),
Road to Hip Hop Indonesia 2020 (2nd place),
1st place for Tari Jaipong in Getar Pakuan (basic teen
category) in 2019,
Pentas Seni festival Taruna Bangsa 2020 (2nd place) (primary
category).

“Don’t give up” and “You can do it” are two sentences that
usually help her. She does not really have a motto, however
she has some quotes, and she likes to write them down in
canva applications. Her favourite quotes are “It’s okay to fall,
but then, spread your wings wider” and “Beautiful with your
own way”. There’s another one that she likes, “Don’t waste
your whole life following somebody's expectation. Let them
know your quality” by anonymous.

airways) on a patient in the Intensive Coronary Care Unit (ICCU) with
prolonged intubation due to a heart attack.

At that time there was still a lot that we didn't know about COVID-19. Because
tracheostomies and bronchoscopies are high-risk procedures because of aerosol-
generation, she performed the procedure with the 3rd level of personal protective
equipment. Because this patient's case was different from the usual heart attack cases, a
PCR swab was performed on the patient.

In March 2020, PCR swabs were only carried out by 2
labs in Jakarta, there were long queues, and the
results could take 1-2 weeks. When the results came
out, it turned out that this patient was positive for
COVID. Then all the doctors in charge of the patient,
including her, were given a PCR swab, and the results
took 1-2 weeks to process. Waiting for 1-2 weeks is
tortuous and very worrying, especially because at that
time the mortality rate was higher than the recovery
rate.

To protect her family, she could not have close contact with her children, so she needed to
sleep separately from them, but thankfully, the results were negative. That's how she
accidentally got the first Covid-19 patient in the hospital that she works at.

Since her job as an ENT doctor is related to patient airways, and this is a high risk during
this Covid-19 pandemic, she must always make sure that she adheres to health and safety
protocols while working.

She really loves her profession as an ENT doctor, and she always makes sure to do her best
and give maximum effort for her patients; so that when she gets cases and patient
procedures as difficult as any, she will try as much as she can for the sake of the patient's
recovery. And because the medical profession is continuously evolving, she is constantly
learning to improve her skills and knowledge.

Her personal motto is “Never give up your desire to be what you want to be. Stay focused
and persistent”.
