หลักการเปลี่ยนประโยค
1. เปลี่ยนแปลงค่ากริยาของประโยค(REPORTING VERB)
2.เปลี่ยนแปลงสรรพนามบุคคล(PERSONAL PRONOUN)
3. เปลี่ยนแปลง TENSE
4.เปลี่ยนแปลงถ้อยคําที่แสดงความใกล้เป็นถ้อยคําที่มีลักษณะห่างออกไป
(NEARNESS TO DISTANCE)

1.1 การเปลี่ยนแปลงกริยาของประโยคนา (REPORTING VERB)
มีดังต่อไปนี้

2.2 เปลี่ยนแปลงสรรพนามบุคคล
(Personal Pronoun) มีดังต่อไปนี้

4.4 เปลี่ยนแปลงถ้อยคำที่แสดงความใกล้ (Nearness) เป็นถ้อยคำที่มี
ลักษณะห่างไกล (Distance) มีดังนี้

หลักการเปลี่ยนประโยค Direct เป็น Indirect Question
1. เปลี่ยนกริยา say เป็น ask หรือ inquire said to + บุคคลเป็น asked + บุคคล
หรือ inquired of + บุคคล
2. ถ้าประโยคาถามใน Direct Speech นั้นขึ้นต้นคําถามด้วย Verb to do, Verb
to have Verb to be และกริยาจําพวก will, shall, can, may, must, etc.
ให้ใช้ if หรือ whether เป็นค้าเชื่อมระหว่างประโยคนกับประโยคตามส่วน Verb
to do ให้ตัดทิ้ง
3. ถ้าประโยคาถามใน Direct Speech ขึ้นต้นประโยคด้วยค่า Question Word ไม่
ต้องใส่ if หรือ whether
4. การเปลี่ยน Tense และค่าอื่นยังใช้หลักเดิน
5. ข้อความของ Indirect Question ต้องเรียงค้าอย่างประโยคบอกเล่า

หลักการเปลี่ยนประโยค Direct ที่เป็นประโยคคำสั่ง Commands) หรือขอร้อง
(Requests) ไปเป็น Indirect Speech

1. เลือกใช้คํากริยานให้เหมาะสมกับลักษณะของคําสั่งหรือคําขอร้องนั้น ๆ
2. จะต้องระบุผู้ถูกสั่งหรือผู้ถูกขอร้องเสมอถ้าไม่มีให้สมมติขึ้น
3. สั่งให้ทําอะไรขอร้องให้ทําอะไรให้เติม to หน้ากริยาวนหรือถ้ากริยาในางนเป็นคํา
สั่งห้ามขึ้นต้นด้วย Don't หรือ Do not ให้ใช้ not to นําหน้าแทน
