Travel Not Just for Fun

but to Learn

India is gifted with an abundance of nature, culture, ethnicity

and diversity. It is a place where every street has its own story to

narrate, where every nook and corner holds a priced treasure of

its unique identity. If we go around on an expedition, we will be

mesmerised by the secrets that the place holds.

Travelling and exploring new destinations is not only pleasurable,

however it also adds new dimensions and perspectives to

our life. The Prime Minister encourages everyone to travel

and suggests that travelling can unfold various learning

opportunities.

The Prime Minister himself travelled extensively and

contributed to the Incredible India campaign by posting his

learnings and take away from the places he visited, notably

the pictures from his Sikkim visit which inspired people to join

the movement.

Citizens enthusiastically shared their “learn while travel”

experiences and described how they inculcated the habit

of being a seeker of knowledge, understanding about

the place and having discussions with the local people.

From snow-capped mountains of Himalayas, rich spicy cuisine

of Rajasthan, aroma of samosas from the streets of Delhi,

tigers of Bengal to the jingles of bangles from Charminar of

Hyderabad, beaches of Goa, historic caves of Maharashtra

and exotic temple traditions of South, the entire length and

breadth of the country enchanted the tourists.

The young travellers brought to light the hitherto unknown
adventurous destinations that India hosts. Local talent from

villages and remotest corners of the country were also made
famous through the movement.

The valley of Ladakh and forts of Rajasthan gained

the most traction by the visitors who shared their

experiences on social media.

International tourists too were mesmerized with the breath-

taking aesthetics of the vast land of India and the diversity of

its culture and lifestyle. They too joined the Prime Minister in

celebrating their travel experiences on social media.
