IGSOSA UK CELEBRATES
25TH ANNIVERSARY
The 25th anniversary of IGSOSAUK took place from Friday, May 24
and concluded on Sunday, May 26. This is a journey that started
spontaneously among 6 friends (all old students of IGS).
To God be the glory for the journey this far and the successful celebration of the 25th Anniversary which
was gracefully attended by the Nigerian High Commissioner, Justice Oguntade (rtd), the National President
IGSOSA Ven (Prof) Jayeoba, President IGSOSANA Dr Okuwoga, President IGSOSAIR Mrs Agbaje-Salako,
Ex President Demeji Mako, our colleagues from the United States, Canadian, Republic of Ireland and Nigeria.
We are extremely grateful to these people for attending the event.
There were numerous highlights during the celebrations, however the moment that stood out the most was
during the Thanksgiving service at St. JOHN the DIVINE church when the vicar raised the chorus, ‘ose ó
Jésù, a ó má yín ọ....(in pure Yoruba dialect)’ and then complimented with the rendition of the school anthem
by the church organist who is an English man. Those moments were out of this world.
On behalf of the 25th Anniversary Organising Committee and the entire body of IGSOSAUK, I express our
profound gratitude for the supports, felicitations, attendance from around the globe. We appreciate you all.
