Summary Hello, I am Lim Yi Xuan. This is my first PTC in
MFS Telok Blangah Centre. I was promoted to
Playgroup Class in December 2019 and I turned 3
years old in February 2020. I am a shy girl but is
learning to open up to my friends and teachers. I
am a helpful girl who likes to help and show care
toward others.

Observation: Yi Xuan was playing with the Lego Blocks
and she placed four blocks on her left fingers using her
right hand. She walked to the educator and showed what
she has on her left hand. The educator exclaimed, "Wow!
Yi Xuan, you have Lego blocks on your fingers?" She
nodded her head. Educator asked, "How many Lego
blocks do you have on your hand?" She looked at the
educator and smiled. Educator said, "Let's count how
many Lego blocks you have on your hand, okay?" while
pointing at her right hand. Educator said, "1" and pointed
at the Lego blocks on her thumb. She repeated after the
educator and said, "One!" Then, she continued to point to
the index finger and said, "Two!" She continued to say
"Three!“ ”Four!" while pointing at her middle and ring
finger. Educator exclaimed with excitement and said,
“Good job, Yi Xuan! Yes, there are four Lego blocks on
your hand!" She smiled at the educator and walked back
to the playing area.

Interpretation: Yi Xuan displays early numeracy concept
and is able to count in one-to-one correspondence. She is
able to interact with her educator and shows
understanding in questions asked. She has good eye-
hand coordination and she is able to put Lego blocks onto
individual fingers independently.

涂色活动中,依萱安静地听老师讲解活动步骤,然后用手
拍了拍地上的纸,老师回答“是的,等下我们在这张纸上画
画好吗”依萱点点头。老师帮每个小朋友画了一个形状,依
萱对老师笑了笑,老师问“这是什么形状呀/”依萱没有讲话
看了看老师,老师说”给依萱画了一个正方形”依萱说“正方
形”。老师表扬依萱说的好,并鼓励依萱可以进行涂色了。
依萱用右手拿起一只蜡笔进行涂色。老师问“这是什么颜色
呀,依萱说“黄色”

Observation: It was evening time and the educator said,
"Everly, go home! Auntie is here to fetch you home!" Yi
Xuan stood up from the chair and ran into the classroom.
She took her friend's photo from the chart and approached
her friend. She looked at her friend and said, "Everly, your
photo!". She handed the photo to her friend with a smile.

Interpretation: Yi Xuan displays enthusiasm in helping
others. She is able to express herself verbally and is able
to express sense of well-being through her facial
expression.

在搭积木的过程中,依萱选择了跟朋友一起建构,在活动
的开始,他们的积木总是倒塌。依萱看向老师。老师说没
关系你可以继续尝试。依萱低头将积木捡起重新搭建,将
最后一块积木放上之后,没有倒塌。依萱和朋友跳着
说“耶”老师说做的真棒!依萱和朋友笑了

Baby bumblebee

Observation: Yi Xuan sang, "I am bringing home a baby
bumblebee, won't my mummy be so proud of me. I am
bringing home a baby bumblebee, Ouch! It stung me."
She looked at the educator and pointed at her left palm
using her right index finger. She continued to sing, "I am
squishing up a baby bumble bee. Won't my Mommy be so
proud of me. I'm squishing up a baby bumble bee Ooh! It's
yucky!" while putting her hands palm to palm and moving
left and right. She continued to sing, "I am wiping off the
baby bumblebee, Won't my mommy be so proud of me,
I'm wiping off the baby bumblebee, Now my mommy won't
be mad at me!" while rubbing her hands against her leg.
Upon ending the song, she opened up her hand and said,
"No more bumblebee!" with a smile.

Interpretation: Yi Xuan is able to sing the whole song on
her own. She is able to follow the actions that were taught
in class previously as she sings the song. She express
her happiness through her facial expression.

老师带了一些泥土和洋葱,带领幼儿来种植洋葱。依萱对
于老师的活动有很强的好奇心。老师将土展示给幼儿之
后,问谁想来帮老师把土放到小桶里呢。依萱举起手看向
老师,老师请依萱来尝试,依萱认真地将泥土放进小桶
里,又闻了闻。老师说你是闻到奇怪的味道了吗,然后将
洋葱递给依萱闻了一下“这是洋葱的味道”依萱笑了说“洋
葱!”

My Physical Self 身体动作

Gross Motor - Yi Xuan has shown gradual improvement in her gross motor skills. She is able
to carry out activities that require her to walk, run, jump, hop independently. She has been
observed to be able to walk the stairs with alternate feet while holding onto the railing for
support. She is able to carry out activities like climbing up the chairs and walk over obstacles,
but with support by holding onto an object for support. At times, she need reassurance and
requires encouragement from adults before carrying out those tasks.

Fine Motor – Yi Xuan displays good fine motor and eye-hand coordination skills. She is able to
carry out most of the tasks on her own or with minimal assistance. She has good grip for
materials like pipettes, spoon, tongs when carrying out activities that gets her to transfer
objects with the materials as mentioned. She displays the ability to carry out tasks that involve
fine motor and eye-hand coordination skills in daily routines like eating on her own with
minimal wastage, undressing herself and removing her diapers independently.
小肌肉发展-幼儿可以用手从一个杯里向另一个杯里倒水,也可以使用滴管进行传递。幼儿可以
拿起蜡笔进行涂鸦,也可以用绳子穿洞,幼儿还喜欢用夹子夹毛球。
大肌肉发展-幼儿可以很好地进行跑和跳的练习,幼儿喜欢跟朋友同伴们一起跑一跑,幼儿可以
将豆袋放到对面再跑回起点。会给幼儿多一些平衡能力的锻炼。

My Psycho-social Self 心理-社会行为

Social and Emotional Development – Yi Xuan is a quiet and well-behaved child who is well-
liked by the teachers in the school. She is able to actively and happily participate in various
activities. She displays enthusiasm in caring for others by consoling verbally and through
actions (Like taking a piece of tissue for crying child). She has been observed to be more
outspoken and is developing the confidence in sharing her views with others. She is able to
get along well with her friends and is more pro-active in interacting and initiate play with
others. She is an easy-going child who mingle with most of the children in her class. She is
more cheerful now, and it is easy to see her smiling away as she shows enjoyment and finds
joy during different parts of the day. She takes responsibility for her own belongings and
displays good self-help skills during daily activities like taking out her water bottle from her bag
every morning, taking out her clothes from her bag and undressing herself during shower
time, eating on her own during meal time.
在情绪管理方面,老师希望幼儿可以更好地管理情绪,可以使用语言更好地表达自己的心情。
在心理社会方面,我们看到了幼儿平时的善良和乐于助人,对待他人有很强的同理心。老师希
望幼儿可以更好地管理情绪,可以使用语言更好地表达自己的心情,但同时我们也看到了很多
的进步,随着在校时间的增加,更好地适应了学校的生活。心理-社会行为-幼儿在学习通过语言
表达来调节和表达自己的情绪。幼儿可以和同伴们一起玩,有一定的集体感。

My Thinking and Communicating Self 思考与沟通

Early Numeracy – Yi Xuan displays good understanding in numbers and is able to identify
numbers verbally. She is able to rote count from one to ten on her own. She displays the

ability to carry out activities that involves early numeracy concepts like matching, sorting and
comparing during daily activities. For example, putting her belongings to the allocated space,
sorting the toys and put them back to the allocated trays, using words like big and small when
comparing objects. She is able to carry out activities in the Numeracy Learning Centre
independently or with little facilitation. She is able to grasp new concepts after few practices.
She is able to identify the basic shapes (Square, Rectangle, Triangle and Circle) and is
developing the ability to name them verbally. She is able to count one-to-one correspondence
from one to five with minimal facilitation.

Early Language – Yi Xuan is able to understand the teacher's instructions and carry them out
accordingly. She is able to express her thoughts verbally and converse with her friends and
teachers well. She is able to speak in short phrases and is developing the ability to speak in
sentences. However, she is often seem to be clarifying the questions presented to her by
repeating the questions again.

Music and Movement – Yi Xuan participates well in music and movement activities. She is
able to move and dance to the songs. She is able to grasp the actions taught along with the
song and is able to do the actions after few practices. She is able to do steady beat along with
the music with facilitation. She is able to explore the musical instruments like tambourine, egg
shaker, rhythm sticks with care and play them in the correct manner. She is often observed to
display enjoyment when participating in these activities, especially when we are doing songs
that requires moving around. Recently, she was observed to like the song, "Baby bumble bee"
and is able to sing the whole song on her own.

Art and Craft – Yi Xuan participates well in all craft work and is readily to explore with the
materials that were provided with each activity. She takes pride in her work and is usually
observed to be carrying out the activity for a good 15 minutes each time.

Natural Environment – Yi Xuan enjoys going outdoor and is always very spontaneous when
we are doing various outdoor activities. She participates and join in to discussion on natural
environment topics that we are discovering on each time. She is able to identify the weather of
that day and say it out verbally on her own.

早期数学-幼儿可以在教师引导下根据物体的数量进行点数,幼儿可以根据大小进行排列组合。
幼儿可以区分不同物体,给物体进行分类,幼儿可以对颜色进行配对。可以点数,认识数字,
喜欢参与每天日历的更换。
音乐活动-幼儿可以在音乐中根据音乐的节奏摆动身体进行跳舞。幼儿可以表达出符合音乐的动
作来。幼儿可以跟着音乐的节拍进行拍手和用不同的乐器打击节奏。
美术活动-幼儿可以拿起蜡笔进行大胆的涂鸦,幼儿对美术活动有兴趣。
自然探索-幼儿对天气的变化感兴趣。对于新鲜事物可以摸一摸、看一看,感受物体的不同。幼
儿可以观察树叶、花朵、天空以及鸟的叫声,对周围事物感兴趣。

Mrs. and Mr. Lim attended the Parent Teacher Conference, and both teachers shared about
Yi Xuan's development and progress in school.
Yi Xuan has shown significant improvement during the first half of the year, especially her
psycho-social skills. She has shown great improvement in her development especially her
social skills when she is staying longer in school. She is still in the midst of developing her
toilet training. She is able to hold her urine, but she doesn’t take the initiative to say that she
wants to go to the toilet. She is speaking more English language now, and she prefers to
speak in English even at home. She has good attention span and is able to follow instructions
in the activity. She is adapting well in the school environment and is enjoying playing with
friends in school.

1. To pay attention to Yi Xuan’s toilet training on how she is coping with going to the toilet and
encourage her to inform adult about going to the toilet.
