Songkhla Province is one of the southernmost provinces in Thailand
that borders Malaysia. Songkhla is the coastal province surrounded
by Songkhla Lake (the largest natural lake in Thailand), Cape Samila
Beach (the most popular beach of Songkhla with the famous
mermaid statue), and the Gulf of Thailand, also it is one of the
important ports cities of Thailand. Moreover, Songkhla still maintains
its historical attractions and charming combinations of cultures. The
popular historic and architectural heritage sites e.g. old city wall of
Songkhla, Hab Ho Hin Rice Mill, old train station, Sino-Portuguese
Buildings, Chinese ancient architecture. And along the street art on
Nang Ngam Road, Nakorn Nai Road, and Nakorn Nok Road. All
harmonious cultures reflect Songkhla as the province of fascinating
cultural uniqueness. Furthermore, Songkhla Province is currently
divided into 16 districts where one of the districts namely Hat Yai is
the largest commercial center of Southern Thailand nowadays.

The diversity of people in Hat Yai include southern Thai people,
Thai Muslims, and Thai Chinese people living together Hat Yai is the
largest commercial center and the major transportation hub in the
southern region of Thailand also is the spot of various fascinating
tourist attractions and historical museums for sightseeing, shopping,
and discovering the traditional histories

WELCOME TO HATYAI UNIVERSITY

A Leading Private University in Southern Thailand

Hatyai University was established as the Hatyai City College
in 1996. The Minister of education allowed the revision of Hatyai
City College to university status on April 9, 1997. Hatyai
University (HU) became the first private University in the
southern region in Thailand.

Hatyai University is one of the fastest-growing private
universities in Thailand, with increasing numbers of students
annually. In 1996, the University began operation with only 180
students taking classes in one faculty with three curricula.
Currently, Hatyai University has more than 2500 students. The
University is offering including 30 curricular operating in six
faculties and one college.
